Charrington Manor is an amazing home for our elderly parents. The accommodation is clean, comfortable, and easy for them to live there. The chef is excellent. No complaints at all. The staff are the best part. They are friendly, caring, and a joy to communicate with us. The entertainment is great, with
lots of variety for different tastes. Plenty of other activities to keep everyone fit and healthy. I'll be booking myself in, in thirty years!

Following a long stay in hospital my Father was very warmly welcomed into Charrington Manor. All members of staff have been brilliant in caring for his needs and taking time to get to know him.

Dad has been a resident of Charrington Manor for the past nineteen months and looks so well compared to when he arrived after spending weeks in hospital.
I cannot thank all the staff enough for all the care, compassion and empathy that they show Dad.
Everyone is so friendly and approachable, which
was comforting when as a family we needed support too.
Charrington Manor is a bright, calm environment that makes you feel at home as soon as you enter.
The food is wonderful and all homemade.
There is always some sort of activity happening throughout the day which so much thought goes into.

During my time visiting Charrington Manor, I saw how caring the staff were towards the residents and how they were always there to provide what the residents needed. The activities that were on offer to all residents (minimum of 2 a day) had something for everybody and I enjoyed helping out with these
whilst getting to know the residents. The care home also has a very relaxing and calming feel to it, especially with the beautiful garden which I know the residents love exploring. I am very glad that I will be back to visit my grandad who I know is happy and having a lovely time there. I would highly recommend Charrington Manor.

Good service and caring staff make this a special care home. Also, lovely gardens that the residents can enjoy now we have better weather. Nursing care is very good and there are lots of activities for those wanting to attend them.

Our lovely mother has now been a resident of CM for just over a year, and we can never thank the wonderful team at CM enough for the incredible care given to her. It was such a difficult decision to move her into a care home, fraught with feelings of guilt and that we had let her down by no longer being
able to care for her at home. But the support, care, and love given to her since the day she became a resident at CM has been outstanding. And the support to us too through this difficult period and knowing that we were all working together to ensure as smooth a transition as possible for Mum.
So a year on I just want to say a huge thank you to all the CM team for everything you have done, and all that you continue to do. Hearing Mum say how happy she is here, that she has made lovely friends, that there is always so much to join in and do, and how kind everyone is, is the best 'anniversary' present we could have. Thank you all so much, you are truly amazing.

My father was the first resident when the home opened in 2022. He was welcomed by all the staff when he arrived and for the first week or two he had the undivided attention of all the carers. Two years on and with some 70-odd residents now it amazingly feels like he still has that same level of care.
Their philosophy is quite unusual in that each resident has their own regular 'family' of carers who know and understand them, far better than at any other care home we've experienced. He is now 100 years old and fitter than when he arrived; a testament to the quality of the place. From top to bottom Charrington Manor has the best staff, the best environment, and the best care. We couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Our mother has had a wonderful two years in Charrington Manor. All the staff have been excellent, and the atmosphere is homely, caring and relaxing. There are a wide range of activities for residents to join in as they wish. As her daughters, we have been able to enjoy our visits with Mum whilst knowing
she is safe and very happy. The food has been of top quality so Mum's diet has improved tremendously. Also the medical care Mum has received here has also been excellent and much more thorough than we could arrange in her own home. This home is exceptional as are the wonderful staff.

Lovely atmosphere and caring staff. Great facilities and lots of activities. We looked at a number of care homes in the area for my mother who requires full time care and Charrington was the stand out choice.

My father-in-law moved into Charrington Manor a week ago. Everything was prepared excellently before his arrival. Clothes were labelled and laid out in his wardrobe. The room was spotless and well-presented with welcome gifts a lovely bonus. The staff have been brilliant encouraging him to make new
friends and join in activities. Things couldn't have been better.

My mother entered from hospital with very limited mobility, struggling to get about with a Zimmer frame and with no desire to eat. The staff have been excellent in encouraging her to build up her strength and confidence. She now walks freely and dances with the visiting entertainers! The staff's careful
monitoring of her nutritional intake has also been enormously beneficial. She is now having a healthy diet and cannot believe me when I recall what a poor state she was in when she entered the care home 6 months ago. She feels it is a really supportive and friendly place to be and thoroughly enjoys all the activities that she can join in with.

Mum became a resident at Charrington Manor in August 2023. Such a big change can be difficult but she was warmly welcomed and a lot of effort from everyone has helped Mum settle in and become part of the Charrington family. She now says she would never leave! Always a lovely warm, friendly atmosphere
and efficient help, medical or otherwise is available.

A well-planned building.
Shower without a curtain is a bit messy! Do understand the reason for not providing a curtain. The overall care is good and the prompt response by the nurses when I had to be admitted to hospital was prompt and on return, I received good care. Many activities organised, not
always to my taste - too many Elvis impersonators! Not much in the way of classical music. Numerous complaints of poor quality food - much is wasted I think - I would like a new supplier.

Many thanks for your review and your feedback that we have considered and acted upon. We appreciate your input and apologise for any inconvenience caused due to your missing shower curtain. We keep a good supply of spare shower curtains in the home, all bathrooms have now been checked where a curtain was missing, we have put a new one in place.


Regarding the activities, we plan them based on residents' requests and preferences. Our goal is to provide meaningful activities for all our residents, with a variety of entertainers. We actively seek feedback from residents through meetings, one-on-one chats, and other channels. If you have any suggestions or if there's anything we can do better, please feel free to speak to our management team or the wellbeing coach.


As for the food, rest assured that all meals are cooked fresh on our premises daily. We strive to plan a variety of meals each day based on our residents’ preferences and dietary needs, including offering an alternative menu every day. We continuously seek feedback from our residents to improve the quality of the products we use. If you have any specific suggestions about food or anything else you need, please provide direct feedback to our management team or head chef.

Charrington Manor is a wonderful care home. My mother-in law-is very happy. Loves all the staff, who treat her like royalty. She was very down after a major cancer operation and her daughters worried that she wouldn’t be happy! She is fully recovered and the family is delighted with the care and attention
she receives every day. The twinkle in her eyes has returned. There is an activity every day and she loves meal times. Charrington is a top care home with top people. Thank you to everyone.

Lovely staff and a beautiful building and garden. It’s the extra details that make such a difference; white linen table cloths and napkins, delicious food and drinks, comfy lounges, high ceilings and airy rooms. The cinema and hair and nail salon are excellent. Mum loves the variety of the afternoon
live entertainment, especially the opportunities to dance and the opera singer. Staff don’t just help the residents, they constantly engage with them and spend time talking to them. Their kindness and warmth makes for a welcoming and happy home.

My husband has been at this home for a few months due to dementia. It has not been an easy journey for him or me, but the staff are amazing. Whenever I have had problems with him they are there to support me with such care, as much as they care for him. Dementia is the saddest disease and they look
after him so well. My guilt over the whole situation has been awful, but they always put my mind at rest that he is fine and mostly happy. I can ring them anytime for an update as I do not see him as often as I would like due to our close connection seems to upset his time there. But I will always visit as I love this place and the staff. The best place for your relatives and my son knows if I ever have to go into a home this is the one for me.

My bedridden father has been a resident at Charrington Manor for over eighteen months and I am happy to say that I have never regretted the choice of care home. The staff are absolutely first-class. I am always met with a heartfelt reception when visiting from Europe and kept fully up to date on my
father‘s condition. Any problems, medical or otherwise, are dealt with professionally and in a timely manner. Everybody, from the frontline staff to the admin team, are true professionals and I am extremely grateful for all they do to keep Dad comfortable. Highly recommended.

Simona Varga-Pali

Job Title: Registered Care Home Manager

A registered general nurse, Simona Varga-Pali brings more than 16 years of experience from both acute and social care settings to her role at Charrington Manor Care Home in West Byfleet. Formerly working as Clinical Lead at the Journalist Charity nursing home and Gracewell Healthcare before joining Hamberley, Simona’s career achievements include leading a care home to an Outstanding CQC rating. Simona has also achieved the Champion of Quality award by Sunrise Senior Living in 2018. Outside of her working life, Simona is passionate about charity work.
