My father had an extended stay due to difficulties sourcing a suitable home care package. His care was exemplary. The staff are wonderful - all of them! He was treated with a great deal of respect and dignity, as well as a lot of humour. The food was great and he got a delicious cake on his birthday. Cannot praise them highly enough. We will miss visiting.

I enjoyed the company in the lounge each day. I used to walk back to my bedroom several times returning to the lounge for meals and a chat with my friends. Staff were very friendly and accommodating with all the various diets. Food mostly very good lunch being the main meal of the day. Drinks were served continuously all day. Physiotherapy was excellent once I got the plasters removed and I was able to practice going up and down stairs.

The care home was clean and tidy. The food provided was very good. The staff were very friendly and took much more notice of the little things that were needed. It was a much more pleasant and healing environment than being stuck in a hospital bed. Communication between the home and the family was excellent. Many thanks for the care provided.

My elderly mum was transferred here with a fractured pelvis and head wound after a fall. She was unable to walk or feed herself when she arrived and was in pain. The staff team did a fantastic job of helping her walk again and her pain was always well controlled. The staff always greeted her (and me) by our first names and were always smiling, supportive and helpful. By the time she left she was fully mobile using a frame, was eating normally at the dining table with other residents, and even made a friend. My mum rediscovered her pride in her appearance with the help of the team at the PRU who organised a mobile hairdresser and even painted her nails for her. The PRU is an incredibly important and well-led service that made a very real difference to the health and well-being of my mum.

Thank you so much for your kind and lovely review. As you know, we all loved looking after your mum and we miss her on the unit. It was our privilege and a pleasure to look after her. It made us all happy when we knew that a fellow patient she had made friends with was going to the same place. Wishing you and your mum all the best.

Hawkhurst House PRU Ltd is light, spacious and newly built and decorated. I was pleased that my husband spent his last few weeks there after his discharge from hospital. The staff were so patient and caring and treated him with dignity. They were always welcoming to me and also friendly. His room was spacious with plenty of chairs and tables to sit at. I recommend Hawkhurst House PRU Ltd and the kind staff in it.

I felt Mum was safe and well cared for at all times. During her stay, her mobility and appetite improved and her weight started to increase. The staff are delightful and she became very fond of them. She did not like some meals, but I think this is due to changing tastes after her illness. Daily physio/jigsaw puzzles and other activities would have been good - we do not know whether or not this happened as she is not good at remembering. Thank you everyone, a positive stay,

Overall Experience
Mum was very well looked after during her stay at Hawkhurst House. She had just come out of hospital, after a procedure, and was very frail and unable to return home.
Everyone she came into contact with was very kind and professional throughout. She had a lovely room and enjoyed walking down to the spacious lounge and dining room to meet, and eat with, other people.
She was sad to leave but is now doing very well back in her own home, with some extra help. She is 92 this year.

We were all very grateful to the Hawkhurst House staff who took such great care of her during her stay.

My mother arrived at Hawkhurst House on 21st September 2021 and passed away on 28th February 2022. During her time at Hawkhurst House, she received superb care and understanding from both staff and management. The assistance I received when she first arrived and also when she passed was excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending Hawkhurst House.

My dad spent three to four weeks at Hawkhurst House PRU Ltd whilst there we was treated extremely well. All his needs were met, the staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough to help. The communication is excellent the rooms are clean, big and airy. As is the communal lounge and eating area.
Whilst my dad was there they sorted out any problems quickly and efficiently. Nothing was too much trouble.

My dad thoroughly enjoyed his stay and had no complaints.

My mother has resided in Hawkhurst House since March 2019. Thankfully she settled in before the pandemic struck! After not being able to visit this time last year and with the current Covid numbers rising again I wasn't sure if Hawkhurst House would allow this year's Christmas party to go ahead as planned. After a lot of careful planning, they did allow it to go ahead still, setting up tables in each of the residents' rooms. All the staff went above and beyond to ensure that a great day was had by all. They had to do this two days on the trot as the two floors celebrated separately. I am so grateful to everybody involved, not only for allowing the celebrations to go ahead in the first place but also for allowing more memories to be made with our loved ones, something, sadly we didn't get the chance to do last year. A huge thank you goes to one and all.

My mum has been very happy and settled at Hawkhurst House. There have been a few issues, but these have been sorted out professionally. The staff have been incredible throughout Covid and Mum clearly adores them. They are kind, considerate and loving. The home is beautiful and always clean. It never smells. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and their dedication. I feel lucky to have found Hawkhurst House.

My father went into Hawkhurst House for 'end of life' care. In the few months he was there he was treated with absolute kindness, dignity and compassion throughout. The staff were also incredibly supportive of the family and they kept us in touch with Dad's condition. Whilst Dad was well enough, he was able to enjoy his meals - often with us - in the lounge or his room, participate in the entertainment and very important to him, to get a decent haircut. His room was light and spacious, overlooking the garden. The home is modern and immaculately clean. In Dad's final days, the nurses (who are absolutely phenomenal) kept him comfortable and pain-free but not 'drugged' so he was aware of us being with him and was even laughing at us the day before he passed away. Every member of staff is key to the success of HH - they were all, without exception, fantastic. Also, it is significant that staffing levels do not drop during the night or weekends as they do in other care homes.

My wife was dying of cancer and was admitted to the Hawkhurst Care home in May 2019. From the outset, the care and compassion showed to her was phenomenal. The management, nurses and Carers were at the very top of their profession. Her own GP was able to visit her and to maintain a dialogue with the resident nurses about what treatment was best for her.
I would not hesitate to recommend the Hawkhurst House care home to anyone needing that special care and attention which makes the resident feel that this is their own home.

Likewise, when the end came, the help given to me as her husband was more than just sympathy, it was guidance as well.
