Cuttlebrook Hall

Cuttlebrook Hall looks as good as a five-star hotel. The staff that I did meet and speak to were all very nice. In my honest opinion, I am very disappointed with my husband's two-week respite stay there. He has Alzheimer's and can probably be a bit difficult at times but I feel he was not cared for as well as he should have been. Rightly or wrongly I assumed all the staff would be trained to deal with and look after people with Alzheimer's/dementia. When he was assessed prior to admission to Cuttlebrook Hall I did inform the assessor of problems he may have. I put name labels on his clothes but he came home in jogging bottoms that were not his. When he went into Cuttlebrook Hall he had two jogging bottoms and one pair of trousers which were not returned with his belongings and his wallet. One of his prescription medicines was not returned and had not been given to him during his stay! It was left to me to return to collect these items.

My husband stayed at Cuttlebrook Hall for 6 weeks of respite. He was extremely well looked after, the staff were lovely to him and his visitors. It is a wonderful clean and homely place to be with lots of activities going on. I would happily send him back there for respite again. I would highly recommend Cuttlebrook Hall.

When a particular passion of Mum's was discovered staff arranged an outing specifically tailored to her, which she really enjoyed. One observation is that laundry sometimes takes a while to be returned but this is a minor point. The only other concern is that the recruitment of care staff keeps pace with the increase in resident numbers.

The atmosphere at Cuttlebrook Hall is like walking into a hotel, so welcoming and friendly. All the staff are marvelous, they are kind, caring, and supportive and always go about their work with a smile. I had no concerns with leaving my husband in their capable hands for respite care. They made me so welcome on every visit. The rooms are fantastic, and modern and have amazing facilities. All my family were made very welcome too, and the grandchildren loved to visit and see the staff and residents. Thank you so much to the entire team.

Mum moved into the home in March and has settled in well, everyone on the team is fantastic and encourages her to socialise and take part in the many activities, they also make the families feel very welcome. The rooms are lovely and have access to the courtyard and are always kept clean. The coffee shop area is nice with lots of lovely treats. All in all, I couldn’t have asked for a nicer place for Mum. Well done to the whole team for making it such a warm and happy place.

I'm very happy my mother is staying in this care home and so is my mother. The staff have been very helpful and are looking after my mother very well.

The place is just what I used in my present state of health. The meals are adequate and well-balanced. My room is comfortable and well-organised. All in all, my needs are well-kept.

I like my bedroom. I enjoy the activities.

My stay has been satisfactory. I have enjoyed my stay here.

I knew from day one of my residence that this was a great community and I would be glad to join it.

My mum had respite care at Cuttlebrook Hall following a stay in hospital. It was just what she needed. Everyone was so kind and caring and many friendships were made. Mum extended her stay as she was enjoying her time at Cuttlebrrok Hall. She came home fully recuperated and back on her feet!

As you would expect with a new building which is not yet at full capacity, the facilities are in perfect condition and the furniture and decoration give a feeling of luxury.

I have been in the care home for 1 week and find nothing wrong, I have dementia.

My mother has been in the home for 1 week the only thing that I would comment on is the single beds feel they could be three-quarters, other than that - food hygiene and staff are very nice.

The care he received was excellent and he was encouraged to join activities he wouldn't normally have done. The food, surroundings and welcoming atmosphere made it a pleasure to go and visit him.

I visited a friend who is a resident. I was very impressed with everything.

My father and I arranged to visit Cuttlebrook Hall and the staff could not have be more welcoming and helpful. We were shown around the facilities, shown the styles of room, and meet current residents. The brochures we took away were also helpful. Particularly the summary sheets. Having decided that he wanted to leave his independent living in his own home, my father was keen to move quickly and not sit in limbo. Cuttlebrook Hall facilitated his quick admission and one staff member in particular spent one on one time helping my father right from day one. It is a very big change for my father. He is settling in and when I phone him I get a consistent 'the staff are lovely and the food is lovely'. He loves his food, and also the doggie visitors. I had to leave him to return to my home in Ireland. My calls since with the management have been both constructive and very caring. All the staff I met, from the youngest to the oldest, were kind and caring. Cuttlebrook Hall has given me peace of mind.
