The beautiful home features superb facilities throughout, creating an environment that’s conducive to wellbeing.
Well known for embracing diversity, MACC Care hope to establish a community at Watermead Rose which reflects the wider Leicester community and welcomes residents from all walks of life. The team are respectful of all beliefs and lifestyle choices and the home offers a multi-faith room for prayer, meditation and times of quiet contemplation.
The home has two separate kitchens, one specifically dedicated to preparing vegetarian and vegan meals, allowing the kitchen team to meet all dietary requirements and preferences. Wherever possible, the team work with fresh ingredients.
The home has lots of shared spaces too, including the garden cafe, the cinema, hobby rooms and a hair salon.
The home also has its own activities team who embrace the wishes of the residents by arranging meaningful one to one and group activities, which include carpet bowls, dominoes and scrabble clubs, flower arranging, quizzes, book and poetry reading, Bingo and fun keep fit sessions, to name a few. The home often welcomes community groups and entertainers to bring a variety of inclusive shows in to the home to celebrate different cultures and key celebrations throughout the year.

The home is always clean and welcoming whatever time you visit, The care Mum receives is excellent and I feel well looked after too. Carers, seniors and Managers always find time to talk to you. Big shout out to the activities team who find a way to include everyone in a diverse range of games/crafts/therapies. Also the food is wonderful.

Having visited numerous care facilities in Leicestershire whist employed with Leicestershire Police I was extremely impressed with Watermead Rose care home who are caring for my best friend of 60 years who arrived there suffering from frontal temporal dementia. These are my observations: The extremely friendly and relaxed atmosphere created by the staff not just the nurses but senior management as well who knew my friends name. ( impressed)
The activities available group sessions , the generous size of room and the efforts to create familiar surroundings family pictures etc , coffee lounge, gym and gardens to walk in. The variety of food , in my friends case Asian vegetarian meals. Tea and coffee upon request plus snacks in the kitchen. There is a gym room however, due to my friend's illness, this is not used by him. And one of the most important things with care homes cleanliness cannot fault it

Over the last few months, I've been ill with a few problems, but when I have visited my mum in the care home, the staff have been very supportive towards me, asking how I am doing, and now that I am getting better, we can start going out again. Last week, my mum was 87 on Tuesday, 28th April, and I visited her on her birthday. The staff made her birthday feel really special with a cake and a present, and it was presented to her in the afternoon. Afterwards, we had Showaddywaddy playing and dancing. An excellent time was had by all, thank you.

Such a good home for someone's final days, and I can't thank the clinical manager enough for all she does for both my dad and me! My Mum is getting 5 star care and attention at Watermead Rose. As a family we are all truly grateful for the love, care and dedication each team member shows mum and all of the residents. The staff Mona, Seena, and all of the Team on Nursing Ward go the extra mile. They really care and want the best for Mum. They support us as a family also and we are so grateful for that. They immediately noticed that mum needed her meds given in a different way and this was implemented quickly. The Nursing ward notice and act quickly.
The catering team Susan and staff make a special effort to connect with the residents each day. Her dietary needs are being constantly monitored and specialist soups/ drinks and food provided which are delicious. Thank you all for the exceptional care. We are so grateful Mum is being cared for by you all.

The staff treated Mum with such dignity and care, and always made us feel welcome and supported when we visited. They did everything they could to make her final days as comfortable and peaceful as possible.

My father arrived at Watermead Rose from hospital in June 2025 on palliative care, with a prognosis of only 3 months to live. Today he is back home, and this is entirely due to the wonderful care and professionalism shown by the nurses, carers and management. We cannot thank all the staff enough for their kindness, dedication, and unwavering support. The facilities at Watermead Rose are exceptional, and there is always so much happening to engage and entertain the residents and their families. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I would wholeheartedly recommend Watermead Rose to any family in need of compassionate and high-quality care.

We felt so relieved and grateful for the support and love from the management and staff. We instantly felt part of the special Watermead Rose Family. My husband was only with you for a short six months when he sadly passed away. The love and respect we were shown by all the staff was exceptional and genuine. My mum is staying at Watermead for end of life care. I could not be happier with the care being given. She is treated with dignity and such kindness. The staff are truly amazing, not just with my mum, but also lending me emotional support when needed. I feel blessed that my mum is at Watermead and receiving the care that she is. Mona in particular is a stand out member of the team. She has such warmth with the residents and nothing is ever too much trouble. She always makes time if I have any questions or concerns.

I've had a very happy experience at Watermead Rose. I have found everyone to be very pleasant and they've taken good care of me. I've enjoyed the home cooking, the good care from the carers and from everyone looking after us, including the cleaners. I've also enjoyed the whole range of activities.

Very impressed with the home and all the staff my husband is bed bound and recives devoted care there is always someone to see to his needs on top of this when I visit I am made very welcome as the home is lovely and relaxed. The running of the home overall is very impressive.

My name is Barry, and I am one of the Resident Ambassadors at Watermead Rose Care and Nursing Home. I used to be the Deputy Warden at St. Mary's Church. I used to enjoy amateur dramatics and was a member of The Falcon Players for many years at Stamford Hall Theatre in Leicester. I really enjoy living here at Watermead Rose and can still enjoy my hobbies of poetry, piano music and supporting Leicester City FC. I feel respected and listened to. The Care staff are always ready and willing to help. The whole home is beautifully decorated. The rooms are very generous and comfortable. The cuisine is excellent. Everyone is welcome here, and it has been lovely to become friends with the other residents and the staff. Christina is great and arranges lots of activities; there is always something going on. I really enjoy the quizzes. Watermead Rose should be at the top of the list for anyone looking. Please come and say hello when you are visiting.
