Having just moved my Sister to The Watermead Rose it is so reassuring to know that she will be cared for by such caring and dedicated staff in what can only be described as excellent accommodations. From initial contact with the home to her first weeks as a resident has been handled very professionally
and I am reassured that my sister will be happy and well cared for in her new home.

Having reviewed a number of care homes in Leicestershire, the facilities and culture displayed at the home gave the family the confidence to select Watermead Rose for mother's care needs. Whilst such a move has been difficult for mum at times, the care and compassion as a resident has confirmed that
the selection of Watermead Rose was correct. The rooms are well appointed in this bespoke facility and the many activities arranged for residents here created a much improved social life for mum.

My father in law arrived at this nursing home 2 weeks ago for end of life nursing care after 6 weeks of investigations at 3 different hospitals to be diagnosed with terminal cancer. He was a very able, active man up until 3 months ago when his problems became apparent and consequently is now bed bound
but has his sense of humour and mental capacity fully apparent. The staff here are wonderful, caring, and supportive from management right through to ancillary housekeeping personnel. The entertainment group visit him personally as he's unable to join in group activities, and he enjoys visits from friends and relatives.

Home sweet home. That is what Watermead Rose became for our Dad for six months until the end of his life.
Dad was no longer lonely; he made friends, actively took part each day in the many activities the home provides and he was cared for as an individual.
Our unique Dad's needs were met by all the
staff from each department, which helps make Watermead Rose the home that it is. All this was delivered with compassion, dignity and respect and also extended to the family. We all became part of the Watermead family. Which we will all remember.. Thank you, each & every one of you for all that you do.
Reply from Sue Estcourt, Customer Relationship Manager at Watermead Rose Nursing HomeThank you so much for your wonderful review of Watermead and for your heartfelt comments. Both my parents have been at this care home. My dad died a year ago. They have both been cared for really well. My mum continues to live there & the staff are all very supportive of her and they listen to her needs. Always plenty of activities to do & children visit, which my mum loves. Everywhere is
clean. My mum feels safe. She is treated like family.

Delighted with the care and attention that is given. It is the unexpected that is so impressive. Like a carer returning to work after time away made an effort to visit and introduce themselves. The communication is great and staff make themselves available to answer questions. I am 100% confident in

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.887)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.887) out of 10 for Watermead Rose Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 80 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 79 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.887 for Watermead Rose Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (858 Excellents x 5) + (64 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (8 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 935 Ratings = 4.887
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Watermead Rose Nursing Home is based on 79 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 80 registered maximum number of service users is 16, which has been reached with 79 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Resident Ambassador Joined: 2023

My name is Barry, and I am one of the Resident Ambassadors at Watermead Rose Care and Nursing Home. I used to be the Deputy Warden at St. Mary's Church. I used to enjoy amateur dramatics and was a member of The Falcon Players for many years at Stamford Hall Theatre in Leicester. I really enjoy living here at Watermead Rose and can still enjoy my hobbies of poetry, piano music and supporting Leicester City FC. I feel respected and listened to. The Care staff are always ready and willing to help. The whole home is beautifully decorated. The rooms are very generous and comfortable. The cuisine is excellent. Everyone is welcome here, and it has been lovely to become friends with the other residents and the staff. Christina is great and arranges lots of activities; there is always something going on. I really enjoy the quizzes. Watermead Rose should be at the top of the list for anyone looking. Please come and say hello when you are visiting.
