Watermead Rose Nursing Home

This care home has been wonderful for my dad. He has been cared for by all the lovely care staff and nurses, as he would have done if we bought him home. I would like to thank the team for their personal touch calling my dad 'Kaka' (uncle) when feeding or dressing him. A true home from home.

Auntie came to Leicester from Leeds to a far better place. She is happy and we are happy.

Delighted with the care and attention that is given. It is the unexpected that is so impressive. Like a carer returning to work after time away made an effort to visit and introduce themselves. The communication is great and staff make themselves available to answer questions. I am 100% confident in the care being given.

It has been extremely difficult for our family having to accept that we needed to access care and support from a nursing home. My husband was admitted to Watermead Rose at the beginning of the year. From the moment I stepped into the reception area I felt that I'd made the right decision and six weeks on I haven't experienced any doubts. Recently one of the carers summed it up when she said that the staff not just care for their residents, they care for their families. Every single member of the army of staff have treated my husband and our family as individuals and have done their absolute utmost to provide care which is tailored and personal. This facility is absolutely outstanding.

Staff are amazing, very friendly and treat residents with dignity and compassion. Always very reassuring. If I have any concerns they are addressed immediately and resolved, this is priceless.

My first opinion of this care home from outside was brilliant, when I walked inside I was astonished to find its appearance staggering. As my time went on visiting my wife I was amazed, every visit to all areas I was overwhelmed with the cleanliness. Overall the care home is brilliant in all areas.

All care received was to a high standard, staff friendly, caring, compassionate and professional, activities very good at the care home, Mum celebrated her 90th birthday while a resident, the staff laid on a little party for her.

My friend is my brother who I have known for over 50 years and I love him dearly. This diagnosis has been heartbreaking for me and his friends so to see him be so well looked after and his needs being met is amazing. He is a very individual character and has not lived a conventional life so for staff to respect this is wonderful. Thank you and God bless.

My mother has recently moved to Watermead Rose Nursing Home and we are very pleased with the care she is receiving. It was a big decision when looking at nursing care but we have certainly chosen the best place for my mother. She has taken time to transition but with the help and support of all staff she is doing very well and receiving the care she so deserves. We are very happy.

It is a happy place, clean, warm, staff are really good, caring and friendly and very helpful and always go above and beyond what is required of them. Ironing, washing etc. is marvellous, clothes always returned very quickly.

The facilities are very modern and par excellent and all accommodation is widely spread with ample corridor space. It is well run by all staff and the catering staff are very flexible providing excellent tasteful food. The nurses are well-trained and do their duty diligently. Watermead Rose really alleviate our responsibility for care as they are professionally taking care of everything.

Would like to thank all at Watermead Rose for looking after my nana so well up til the end. Always had time for her even though she was bedbound and my nana always smiled when she saw the care staff. Lovely, caring staff, very friendly, nothing too much trouble.

Some of the carers lacked experience in using equipment which suggested a lack of training, she was left hanging out of her wheelchair on a couple of occasions. No one seemed to read the care plan. Long wait times when pressing the buzzer, for help, when you went out into the corridor to look for help it was often like a ghost town, lack of visibility of staff on the floor. Left in bed most of the time and often not washed and dressed for breakfast until late morning, sometimes was unsure if she had been washed at all. After 5 stressful days of feeling like we had to be there to care for my mum and make sure she was safe, we took her home again. This was our first experience of respite and we didn't get a break at all!

Dad has quickly settled in. All the staff have been very attentive, and he has quickly established good relationships with all the staff. Every time I visit, the place is spotless and all the staff are very welcoming. The choice and quality of food is excellent.

The staff are always cheerful, smiling and very helpful.

I couldn't wish for my dad to be cared for in a better place. Placing our dad in any home was a hard decision but one we knew was for the best, he is taken care of far better than we could ever do ourselves and I am so grateful. It is a lovely place to be, always spotless and such a nice atmosphere.

The staff are all friendly and very helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, settled my husband very quickly.
