My mother has been in Tall Trees for 2.5 years and the staff have been extremely professional and kind towards her during her time in the home. She has not been an easy resident to care for at times, but they have always been very understanding.

They have been kind to me in terms of getting to grips

with coping with a relative who is in decline. It's very difficult choosing a residential care home for a parent as basically it's not what anyone would wish for yourself or a relative - however, I visited many homes before choosing Tall Trees and I can recommend it most highly.

The nurses and care staff will always seek medical advice if they feel it is needed and the local GP practice make regular weekly visits.
The current manager is keen to maintain good communication links with relatives and holds regular relatives meetings, as well as having an "open door" policy and she is constantly working to make minor improvements to the quality of care that is offered.

We were very pleased with the prompt acceptance of my mother at Tall Trees, while she was in a very vulnerable state. The care she has received has been of good quality, with appropriate help and attention to her needs. we are only moving her to another care home to be nearer family and to make visits
to hospital for treatment easier.

I am pleased and relieved that at last the smell of urine on Beech Unit seems to be under control! On the whole the staff are wonderful and there are one or two who are outstanding. My mother is not taken to the toilet often enough - I understand this is meant to happen on a two hourly basis and my
father and I have sat with her longer than this and no one has appeared. Mum has become distressed leaving us to work out that she needs the loo. If we were not with her she would wet herself, adding to her discomfort. Also Mum has an underlying urine infection and so should be given more drinks - this seems to be left to visitors.

I called Tall Trees in near desperation, looking for an emergency respite bed for my Mother. From my first conversation with the Manager I felt reassured, and understood. I have found all the staff I have either met or spoken to extremely professional, patient and kind. They have my Mothers best interests
as a priority and yet have found time to support me too. The environment is one of calm and comfort, yet it is the attitude of the staff that I can't praise enough, and that makes Tall Trees rank so highly in my mind, Thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.223)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.223) out of 10 for Tall Trees Glade is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.785 for Tall Trees Glade is calculated as follows: ( (86 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 107 Ratings = 4.785
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.438 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tall Trees Glade is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 registered maximum number of service users is 12.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.2 = 0.738
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
