Maple Leaf Lodge is a modern, spacious, residence situated near to local amenities providing residential, respite, palliative, and dementia care.

Bedrooms are set across three floors and each floor has its own large dining room and two living rooms, meaning peace and quiet is never far away. All furnishings and decor throughout the home are of an exceptionally high standard.

There is also a beautifully landscaped garden that surrounds the home and a decked seating area, perfect for outdoor socialising. There's a greenhouse for those who want to grow their own vegetables.

Care workers understand that moving into Maple Leaf Lodge will be a considerable transition but it's one they try to make feel as easy as possible. By helping residents arrange their room just the way they like, or bringing their daily newspaper, staff will do the little things that make the biggest difference.

Meals vary daily, and are prepared by trained chefs, on-site, to provide a tasty and nutritious dining experience. Special dietary requirements will be catered for.

A dedicated activities coordinator oversees a number of events to ensure there is always something for residents to get involved with. These can be small events in the home day-to-day, as well as regular excursions and big one-offs. Residents and relatives are encouraged to make suggestions and requests to get the most from their experience.

My wife is fed, watered, warm and dry at a standard which I am grateful that I could not achieve by looking after her myself at home. Unfortunately, her condition does not allow her to be as appreciative or use the facilities available to her but I am very content with the care.

I have found the service very good indeed. The staff are brilliant and caring. No complaints at all. My husband seems quite content and loves the food. I come away after visiting him with no worries at all.

Generally speaking, I feel that the care given is genuine. The staff are friendly and approachable. The food often looks bland and the same. Often the bathroom is not clean.

Staff are very caring. Quick to answer the buzzer. Room is clean. Had a few accidents with blood on the carpet, cleaners were very quick at cleaning it up as soon as they can.
Very good activities, something every day.
Good food in general, although chicken can be spicy, especially the chicken salad
at tea time. Bit heavy-handed with the gravy, gravy on everything. Not used to having gravy on ham or on chips. I'm a Southerner, we eat our food dry, no gravy.

My husband, a dementia resident, has been at Barchester Maple Leaf Lodge Care Home for four months and seems happy and settled. Recently refurbished, all the rooms are nicely decorated and furnished to a high standard. The care staff are friendly and approachable and always treat the residents with
dignity. The management staff are always ready to help with enquiries and with the new coffee shop opening, you are greeted by a nice atmosphere.

All the staff are friendly and very patient and caring. I am amazed at the way they cope with challenging situations in the dementia unit. The menus are varied and nutritious and appetising. There is such a lovely atmosphere in every area.

From day one the staff have been kind, helpful, polite and nothing is ever too much. The staff must have the off days but they always have a smile on their face when they come through the door. If there is something I don’t want on the menu the kitchen never hesitate to make me something I want. I don’t
know how activities manage, so kind and always come to see me and do my shopping.

I was absolutely delighted when my dad was able to come into Maple Leaf Lodge Care Home for three reasons. One his safety, two his happiness and three the family environment it offers. I've found all staff amazingly helpful and nothing is too much trouble for anyone, no matter what position they hold.
The care element within Maple Leaf is 24/7 without a doubt. Activities are offered to my dad, they even provided a table tennis set to benefit him as he used to play in the local park. Food and drink are always available around the clock, in case my dad has slept through mealtimes. I'm very pleased with how settled my dad is and how well he is being cared for. I would highly recommend this care home. 100/10.

Dad has lived at Maple Leaf for 6 months and is very happy. The care and attention given to him is excellent I can not fault it. I don’t live in Grantham so can’t visit as often I’d like but find the social media updates lovely. It’s so nice to see him out and about and enjoying life despite living
with dementia. We are always made to feel so welcome when we visit and Dad is happy which is so reassuring. I love the fact he is still taken out on trips as keeps him feeling part of the community. Every member of staff seems to know his name even the maintenance team it does feel like he’s living in a family home. Thank you.

Happy and feel relieved with the care and attention my father receives at Maple Leaf Lodge. While his dementia means he's unable to communicate or remember what he's been doing, we are kept fully informed of any trips out. Their social media page also shows photos of all activities, which is wonderful.
All staff are friendly and caring, facilities and activities excellent. Great to know he's safe and lovingly cared for.

Having spent almost every day visiting my dad at Maple Leaf Lodge Care Home, I have seen firsthand how all the staff work. I cannot praise, the management and staff, enough, in all work areas. They seem very hard-working and they treat my dad with the utmost dignity and respect. It’s like having an
extended family. Whilst the staff are very professional they are also extremely caring, friendly, polite and helpful. They help to make it a fantastic, homely environment with amazing decoration and furnishings (home from home). The meals are of an excellent standard. They always provide food for my dad if he has slept through mealtimes. They have a great activity team. Dad was recently taken out for coffee and cake. Also, the maintenance staff have dealt quickly and efficiently with any problems. Dad is being cared for impeccably. No complaints at all. Excellent care home would certainly recommend it. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

I stayed at Maple Leaf Lodge for 2 weeks whilst my family were away. I found everything was well run, carers were very good, although I did not need help. Carers are very patient as some people were quite troublesome. Food was great, varied and always a choice.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Barchester Maple Leaf Lodge Care Home since 2019 and despite the challenges over the past two years, her care has not been compromised at all and the current team has and is doing an amazing job, thank you to each and every one of you. Life for our loved ones
is gradually returning to normal but in a measured and safe way hopefully keeping them and just as importantly the dedicated team looking after them, safe and well. We are very much looking forward to all the events planned in the coming months and to all the exciting and positive things planned for the future. Thank you to you all.

You provided essential management e.g. food, dressing, washing but in my mind not care. My mother, 82, was left in her room during her full week of respite care, when asked if we could take her down the corridor in her wheelchair we were told no! She didn't eat barely the whole time with you, extremely
confused, depressed and basically giving up, therefore took her home. The home appeared understaffed, difficult to speak to anyone. Extremely disappointed.

Here at Maple Leaf Lodge, we pride ourselves in offering excellent care, a unique experience of varied activities and a deluxe food and dining experience. We also offer additional aspects such as organising taxis to additional relatives to support their loved ones and dine free of charge to aid comfort to the resident during their respite care as was honoured here. We are known for our activities here at the home and although we will try our utmost to promote residents' attendance we also honour their personal choice and preference if they wish to relax in their private room. Each visit to the home is greeted by our front of house team who are more than willing to offer support or organise a meeting with any team member of your choice if requested. We value all feedback and take on board your opinions so that we can improve on our service offered.

All the staff were friendly and helpful as always. There was a pleasant atmosphere and the residents were enjoying a visit from two musicians. The resident I was visiting was a little confessed and uncomfortable, the staff were lovely with her.

My Uncle has been at Maple Leaf for 3 years. The staff are all fantastic and assist my uncle with fantastic care, nothing is too much trouble. Throughout this awful pandemic, they have always had a smile on their face. I take my hat off to them all. The manager is very pleasant and always available

Hello, I am Kerry, General Manager at Maple Leaf Lodge. I joined Barchester in 2017 and am an experienced member of the regional leadership team.


I have management qualifications and many years experience of in managing care homes before coming to Barchester. I enjoy building relationships with residents and their families, responding to individual care needs and reassuring relatives that their loved one is in good hands at Maple Leaf Lodge.


I believe it is also vital for me to build good working relationships with all team members at our home, making sure they feel confident and supported in their roles. I like to guide staff by setting an example of how to provide care and support with the utmost dignity.


On a daily basis, I seek to enrich residents' lives by making sure we offer a choice of activities, conversation and entertainment.

My name is Courtney and I am proud to be the Activities Coordinator for Maple Leaf Lodge.


I have worked at Maple Leaf since 2018 and I started as a night career before taking the opportunity to lead the activities team. I always aim to give residents the best possible experience by creating an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same.

I have worked at Maple Leaf Lodge since we first opened in 2009. I started as a kitchen assistant and worked my way up to Head Chef. I enjoy creating menus with the resident's input from our monthly meetings. The residents are always welcome in my kitchen and appreciate any of their feedback.
