Reuben Manor provides residential, dementia and short-stay care for up to 83 residents in a modern, purpose-built home on the edge of Yarm in Stockton-on-Tees.

Opened in 2009 and named in honour of the founder’s father, the home was designed to offer a safe, welcoming environment with a personal touch. It’s located close to local shops, cafés and green spaces, offering a quiet yet well-connected setting.

The home is spread over three floors with a dedicated dementia suite on the middle level. All bedrooms are single occupancy with en-suite facilities, and residents are supported to personalise their space. Communal areas include a coffee shop, piano lounge, and comfortable lounges that encourage connection and social time.

The grounds feature landscaped gardens, a greenhouse, raised beds, and a central courtyard linking the outdoor spaces. Residents enjoy gardening, summer parties, and time outdoors, with wheelchair-friendly paths throughout.

Dining is flexible and resident-led, with meals made fresh daily using seasonal produce. Traditional favourites, personal requests, and themed days are part of the weekly rhythm. Tea trolleys and treat baskets support choice and comfort at any time of day.

My Dad was admitted to hospital during the Covid-19 lockdown. He was deemed physically fit but diagnosed with dementia and transferred to an assessment home. We found a place in Yarm but unfortunately, after 3 weeks, they felt unable to offer the level of care Dad needs. I was delighted to find that
Reuben Manor offered EMI Dementia Care but nervous at the thought of moving him again.
He has been in MHA Reuben Manor for one week now and, even through the window, I can tell he seems happier and brighter in his new surroundings. His quarantine is over in one week after which we can enjoy ' garden visits ' in their beautiful outside space. I'm looking forward to the day when we can go inside the building and enjoy its facilities with Dad.

I have been impressed by the prompt action taken at the early stages of the current pandemic which has, without doubt, reducing the risk to all residents. As disappointing as it has been not to be able to visit my mother for some weeks now, I appreciate the reasons for this and have been grateful to
receive frequent telephone updates relating to my mother's health. This has made me feel much more at ease during this difficult period. I thank all staff for their ongoing care of my mother, particularly at this time.

My 88-year-old Mum has been a resident since May 2019 and we could not be more delighted with the level of care and support that she has received in that time from the staff and management at Reuben Manor. As a family, we take great comfort that she is now living in such first-class accommodation and
being extremely well looked after, 24 hours a day.
There is a happy and relaxed atmosphere, which is a credit to the team as they are all very friendly and caring. My Mum is very settled and content and enjoys taking part in many of the activities that are arranged for the residents' benefit throughout the week.
Her accommodation is lovely and having some of her own furniture, photographs and ornaments, makes it feel very homely and comfortable. She tells us how lovely the meals are and it is great to know that she has made many new friends. All of this, we feel, has hugely benefited her health and well being in the short time she has been a resident and for this, we are very grateful.

Both my Mother-in-law and Aunt are living in Rueban Manor. The improvement in both their physical and mental well-being since moving there has been incredible. All of the staff genuinely care about the residents there. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always find time to sit and have a chat
with them. It is always spotlessly clean and the food served according to my mum-in-law and aunt is absolutely delicious. The range of activities available to them are amazing, they are always looking forward to something when we go to visit. They feel like they are staying in a 5*star hotel. They couldn’t be happier.

My mum became a resident of Reuben Manor in July 2019. In the 7 weeks since then the improvement in her well-being, physical state and quality of life has been astounding. The improvement has been commented on by all of my siblings too.
The staff at Reuben Manor show consistent and considered interest
in her, involving her in activities, but (rightly) only those they feel she will be interested in and get real enjoyment from. They do not take her along to anything, they think 'will she enjoy this' and if they think she will, they make every effort to get her along.
My mum comments almost daily about 'how lovely the people are here' and how she 'loves it here'.
Put simply - my family could not be happier with the choice we made to take mum to Reuben Manor.
First-rate.

The home is very clean and tidy and the staff are very friendly and will have a chat when time permits. The staff have been very good with my father, nothing seems to be to much trouble. We did have a problem with the night staff but that is currently being reviewed by the home manager. My wife and
I talk to some of the other residents and they all seem happy with things at the home. If I need to talk to the manager, she is always available to talk to and if for any reason she is not there then her assistant also has time to listen.

My mother was a resident of Reuben Manor for a year. She has dementia with agitation and anxiety. I was happy with the home initially but my mother’s dementia inevitably progressed as she was moved to a smaller unit with other residents with dementia. The staffing level was inadequate and the staff
were clearly struggling. I was asked to pay for extra one to one support for my mother as I was told they were unable to meet her needs. I have now moved my mother to another considerably cheaper care home with a higher staffing level.

My Mum needed respite care after being ill for 5 weeks - the last 2 in hospital. From the minute the assistant manager came to visit Mum in hospital I knew this was the right place for her. By the end of Mum's stay, she was back to her old self and had regained her confidence. All of the staff are so
kind and helpful - never too busy to assist me or my Mum. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Reuben Manor as a 'home from home' with the highest of standards.

My dad has now been a resident for 2 years and he is very happy at Reuben Manor. Every time I visit I just get a lovely feeling entering the home and meeting familiar staff who are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. It is so obvious how well they have got to know my dad, his personality and needs and
how much they care for his wellbeing. Whenever I set off home I feel so fortunate that we found such a wonderful place for Dad. I was asking him this evening which staff he thought were really good and he answered; “they all are”. There is a great staff team at Reuben Manor all working together to care for the residents. Family and friends have been really impressed when they have visited. The activities programme is fantastic and makes a huge difference to Dad. I love seeing what has been happening on the Facebook page. Thanks to everyone for whatever you do to help Reuben Manor be the best it can be. You make such a positive difference to the lives of the residents and their families.

Dad arrived initially on respite but has been so settled and happy that he has been calling it his new home and is choosing to stay now. The staff are all so helpful and from an initial enquiry about possible respite to a permanent move now we have been helped with ease at every stage. The facilities
are lovely but it is the staff that make Reuben Manor the special place it is. The smiles, chats, answers and care showed always feel genuine. You feel the care there. To be able to visit any time helps enormously and for Dad to be able to go out with friends helps establish a balance to a future life in care for him. The entertainment staff make a real difference offering varied activities, even taking Dad out on an organised visit which he has enjoyed so much. To be invited along too as a relative was something I much appreciated and was a very special time in helping Dad settle in. Huge thanks to everyone. High praise is well deserved.

My mum has been a resident of Reuben Manor since August 2016. We looked at lots of homes in our area but didn’t find one we would have been happy placing Mam in until we went outside our borough council to Eaglescliffe. We were extremely impressed on first viewing of the layout and the coffee shop and
beautiful gardens. These were all very important to Mam, she loved her garden, went out several times a week for coffee and cake and was very house proud also. Mam has dementia and although it took a while to settle, she still loved where she was and connected with the fantastic staff. We were and are so happy that we chose this beautiful home and have complete peace of mind that Mam is being well looked after and loved by the staff also. We use the lounges for family gatherings and the kitchen caters for us. We couldn't ask for more! The activity coordinators are amazing and go the extra mile to make a difference in the residents' lives. We did the right thing in choosing Reuben Manor 100%.

When my mum arrived at Reuben Manor from hospital, we as a family were delighted with the way all the staff conducted themselves. They went that extra mile from the beginning - the process of us as a family choosing Reuben Manor. We had a consultation with the deputy manager who came to the hospital.
She was so helpful, genuinely cared and was very passionate about the home. Since my mum has been in Reuben Manor, I can only describe each and every member of staff as treating my mother as they would treat their own family; with love, dignity and respect.

First visit of seven-day duration used by me for my husband's respite. My experience of this quality care home was excellent. There were a few difficulties due to a severe stroke that has left my husband without the ability to speak. These were overcome without difficulty or any unnecessary fuss. Grateful

My father-in-law stayed at several care homes before managing to settle in Reuben Manor. He loves the staff, the beautiful food, the gardens to relax in and the wide range of activities.
They all read the newspapers in a morning and do fitness together. There are even concerts. My father-in-law's room
is like a mini flat. Beautifully decorated and with a huge bathroom.

I can only speak very highly of Rueben Manor Care Home. Without the love, care and expertise my mum would not be here today. The standards are very high and the staff are superb and work very hard to make sure residents are comfortable and cared for in a loved and dignified manner.

I love visiting my Nana in this home. She is well looked after, the staff are always friendly and there's always so much on for the residents to do. I went in yesterday and they were having a Japanese day. The girls were all in costume and all the activities were themed around Japan. It was amazing.

After a really bad experience with another care home provider, my husband is now in Reuben Manor. The level of peace of mind I now have knowing he is cared for and his needs are fully met is immeasurable, the staff are brilliant. I now sleep at night. I would recommend this home wholeheartedly to anyone,
they have put my mind at ease knowing he is in the best place and safe.
