Each bedrooms at Ventress Hall is unique; from high ceilings to direct access to the home's courtyards, each offers a point of interest for residents to enjoy. Bedrooms also feature a 24-hour nurse call system, and most have en-suite facilities. For couples wishing to reside together, Ventress Hall also offers a small number of shared or double rooms.

The Darlington care home and gardens are fully wheelchair accessible with a plethora of spaces to relax, socialise and enjoy activities, including cosy lounges, a café, hair and beauty salon and a bright conservatory. Outside, the courtyard gardens are ideal for enjoying a cup of tea.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

Mother is exceptionally well cared for and settled. The care team go above and beyond to ensure the well-being of my mother. Initially, my mum was apprehensive about going into full-time care but now is enjoying a social life that she has not enjoyed for years. She is happy and content and myself and
my family cannot praise Ventress Hall highly enough.

My husband spent about 13 weeks in Ventress Hall. His care was very good. All his needs were attended to. The food was excellent I stayed for lunch a few times and was impressed with what was served. I couldn't recommend Ventress Hall highly enough and if my husband needed more care I would have no
hesitation in him returning to Ventress Hall.

Since my brother was admitted to Ventress Hall Care Home in Darlington in March I feel he is being really well looked after! The carers are always there for him when needed and he is very happy there - he enjoys the meals and the television. I visit him most days when I have found the staff all very

Ventress Hall is a very nice care home with nice-sized rooms and wonderful staff, good facilities, all-day visiting and adequate car parking. My wife is receiving very good care. I visit my wife every day and stay for about 7 hours. The nurses allow me to feed my wife and very kindly offer me food and
drink.
Unfortunately, from time to time, the resident across the corridor shouts out loudly, which disrupts my conversation with my wife, especially when it goes on for a few minutes.

Quite satisfied with the service provided - residents likes to be independent which the staff understand. He is happy with his care. furnishings in his room could be updated ie: his chair.

Mother-in-law is currently having a short stay. Overall experience of care home has enabled her to recover and hopefully with a bit more help and continued support possibly further betterment. Patient had challenging behaviour that was dealt with well. He later received end of life care. Nursing is exceptional care. Could not be bettered.

The staff have been fantastic at helping my father-in-law with his care after his fall and subsequent head injuries, which requires them to be really patient with him. His room is always clean and well-presented. The coffee room is a welcome place to meet up with him and enjoy a pastry.

My grandad was recently in Ventress Hall, and all care staff were exceptional in their care for him right through to his end of life. Grandad enjoyed his time there and established good relationships with their carers who helped him through his time there.

Job Title: Home Manager

I joined Ventress Hall back in the 1990s, progressing from a carer to a senior and then to become the deputy manager. I became Home Manager in November 2019. 


All of my experience enables me to challenge our practices, improve what we do and strengthen our relationships with the local CCG and healthcare team – all for the benefit of our residents.


I love seeing the residents happy, and I enjoy seeing the positive impact of the work we do. We often have residents join us for short term respite care as they convalesce after an illness or operation. It’s wonderful to see them recover and return home. 


I’ve worked with many of the team here for many years. I have a profound respect for them and recognise each of their contributions. It’s safe to say that this home has a special place in my heart and I’m looking forward to developing Ventress Hall even further so we can deliver even greater outcomes for residents and their families.
