I can only give my review prior to lockdown as I have not seen Mum since lockdown. However, I can only assume she is being looked after exceptionally well, as she was prior to this.

As we cannot go into the home it's hard to do a review. But all the staff are very good and care for him. We have had garden visits and he comes out and is always smart and tidy. Now is the time we worry about coming to see him as it is too cold outside for him. My mum is in assisted living and has a flat with care but it is too cold to bring her now at 93 years old.

My mum has to have temporary care whilst her husband was in hospital due to her having vascular dementia. Whenever I visited Hampton Grove or rang the staff were so friendly and kind. If my mum ever had to permanently go into a nursing/care home I would only choose Hampton Grove.

Staff really friendly and helpful will do anything to help. The place is like a family, everybody is so kind and helpful. Very clean. Outside garden is lovely. You have all done a fantastic job over this hard time. Thank you for taking such good care of our mum. It must be really hard trying to keep them amused. Mum seems quite happy. You have all done a great job. Thank you.

My father went to Hampton Grove for respite to give my mum a break. He walked into the care home walking and talking but came out in a wheelchair and has never been able to talk to us again and an ambulance had to be called when we got him home. He was admitted to hospital with a bad UTI which had been undetected by the care home. During his two weeks stay, he had two falls, having never fallen over at home at all since his dementia diagnosis or stroke. We struggled to get any details of what happened and what injuries he had, communication within the care home team was very poor and also communication to my mother. I had to call a meeting with the assistant manager to get some kind of answers which she was reluctant to have and during that meeting it became pretty apparent how bad communication was. Once we got my father's belongings back, quite a few items of clothing were and still are missing but to our horror in his case were items including medication belonging to other people.

Do not use this company. My 98 yr old father stayed here for one week and really did not enjoy the experience. He said that no one talked to him, so our explanation that he was profoundly deaf, was ignored.
On collecting him all his clothes were in the laundry, even though we had expressly said not to wash them, and I was told that they could not retrieve his clothes for 5 days! I made a complaint in person and was not offered anything but apologies, even though we had to buy extra clothes for him in the interim.
We had him booked for a haircut and they couldn't even manage to get him to that, they forgot.....
When we got him home his speech was slurred due to lack of fluids, which took days to reverse, our doctor had to put him on hydration medication! I hate to think what state he would have been in after 2 weeks.

We felt so guilty that we had left our lovely, frail dad, with people who just care about the numbers. I'm sure this is down to poor management.

Although due to the coronavirus lockdown we have been unable to see my mother, I have been impressed with the response from the staff. We have been doing 'Whatsapp' calls with my mum, who seems to be in a good state of mind and is constantly reassure by the staff when she becomes upset about her situation. She seems to be well-fed and cared for.

My nan was transferred to Hampton Grove after a fall at home amidst the covid pandemic, so it has been extremely stressful for our family, but after a shaky start with the reception team (I had the phone put down on me after enquiring about visitation, sounded like he was too busy to talk to me) The care team and entertainments staff have been amazing! My nan seems fairly happy (Which is a miracle in itself) I would like to say a special thank you to the lady who works with my nan as she has gone above and beyond for her.

Hampton Grove was Mum's happy, caring home for the last 20-months. Although quite a private person, Mum made lovely new friends with both residents and carers and enjoyed activities such a char aerobics, cake decorating and crafts. I could call or visit whenever I wanted and was always welcomed and brought up to date with and medical needs etc. They really upped their game during the covid pandemic, quickly locking down the home, wearing PPE and having staff and residents tested. They also found ways to continue the activity programme without outside help. I have already recommended Hampton Grove to others. Thanks for all your hard work and best wishes to all the team.

I have found all the staff to be caring, considerate and capable. The carers on my mother-in-law's floor know her well and seem to bring out the best in her, especially during your FaceTime on the computer. In these difficult times, it's been good to know that she is being cared for with such dedication.
