Overall Experience
The visitor receives a friendly warm welcome in reception.
There is good communication between staff and across staff in the home during the shift.
And there is a willingness to guide and to help the visitor orientate to the three floors.
My aunt is happy in the home where she has lived for 14 months, in fact there has been great improvement both physical and mental.
The facilities support a high degree of personal care.
There are professional nurses in charge of care throughout the shift. Clients medications are reviewed regularly and any suggestions from those with powers of attorney /next- of-kin are taken into account.
Food is tasty and served nicely. There is a lot of fresh food.
Observation of patient to patient interaction during the shift is effective.

Taken together these aspects made us pleased with our choice of Springs Care Home.

My mum in law Eileen has been at The Springs for over two years now and we as a family can't fault it. In our opinion The Springs do Bupa proud. All the staff from the manager to the cleaners treat Eileen with care + respect and are a wonderful support network for her but for us as a family. We know that Eileen will be well looked after for the rest of the time shes here.

Since my husband entered the Springs two years ago the Staff moral has gone right down. This is mainly due to poor management. The new policy of the carers being moved from floor to floor does not work. Residents don't know where they are and don't feel as secure as dementia patents should. Continuity is paramount with the residents. PLEASE look into this. Sadly, my husband passed away last month and although the staff were lovely, I haven't heard a word from Management, it would have been nice to have had even a card. Overall, I can't recommend The Springs to anyone.

We are very pleased with the treatment my partner has received, as she was very ill when she came to this home. I have nothing but the highest gratitude for the way she has been treated by the staff. She won't recover to a normal life, but she has wonderful people caring for her.

After several years of experience with various care facilities I can say that The Springs is definitely one of the best that I have seen.
I visit a friend and am heartened by the good care they are receiving.
They have a lovely and light well appointed room and also have access to a bright and cheerful TV room which feels welcoming.
There is a good atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and seem to genuinely care about my friend and their needs.
The food offering is very good and looks homemade with plenty of choice.
Even though I am only a visitor I am made to feel welcome and am always greeted with a friendly face at the reception.

The Springs is a lovely place to be.

After making the very difficult decision to put my husband into care, to The Springs. On arrival staff were very helpful and supported me excellently, with compasion and professionalism. The staff cater for all my husbands needs and spent valuable time getting to know him as an individual. They work very hard making it a home from home. Nothing is too much trouble and they keep you informed on a daily basis, which is valuable when you have left your loved one in their care. I would highly recommend The Springs, they are very approachable and the chef is excellent. They all work together as one team which is very good and beneficial.

Review from Daniel P (Son of Resident) published on 17 September 2025 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My father, suffering with advanced dementia, recently stayed here, and sadly, our experience was far from what was promised. Every time I came to see him, he was slumped asleep in a chair in the corridor - no sign of any of the engaging activities or stimulation we were told would be a daily part of his care.
What's more, not once during any of my visits did a staff member or receptionist take the time to update me on how he was settling in, how he was doing - It all felt very transactional and impersonal. On the last day I came to visit him at the end of his stay, no one gave me a handover or any feedback on his time there. The only question I was asked was, "When is your mum picking him up?"

My father also came back with a severe case of scabies. While I can't definitively say it was contracted at the home, it's very likely. Even more upsetting is that we weren't told anything about a rash or skin irritation - no communication at all. At the least, we should have been informed

Since my aunt moved in last November (2024), we have found that the care and support she receives is excellent, and she is treated with respect. The staff and management are excellent, so friendly and helpful. The rooms are always clean and tidy, meals are very good, and she's always involved in the many activities they have. The home is well secured, so I have no worries about her safety, and it is also value for money. On the whole, I have no problems with the home, I'm really pleased with it.

I am always very impressed with the wonderful warm welcome received. Likewise, I see how well my friend and other residents are cared for with expertise, kindness, respect and professionalism. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The choice of meals and their quality and presentation is quite outstanding (5 stars at least!). It is especially pleasing to see and hear the different activities and themed events in communal areas and corridors. It is all most uplifting for residents and their visitors. Congratulations.

I very much appreciate my first-rate inter-reaction with staff, from Reception to Nursing-care workers and Support staff at all levels. They are delightful.
Staff work tirelessly to maintain the Care Home's challenging routines and respond sensitively to the changing needs and requirements of my partner of 30 years. They provide me with daily updates and respond very readily to my questions.
The premises are beautifully appointed to a very high standard of decoration and furnishings and the atmosphere is generally calm, warm and peaceful with Lounges that cater for different tastes and a Dining Room that delivers wholesome, varied meals.
Individual rooms provide ample personalised space and en-suite amenities.
The unremarkable location should not detract from the high-quality service provided for residents.

Having visited the residence, my daughter said 'I would be happy if it was my Mum'. Praise indeed!

My dear wife of 64 years marriage spent her last 2 years in springs care home.
In that time, although confined to bed she received very kind and professional care.

Georgie FlowerdewJob Title:Clinical Deputy ManagerJoined: 2024

During my work experience week at school, I went to the ALEX (Redditch Acute Hospital) and worked on one of the wards for the week. In that week I knew I would always work within the care sector and I have ever since. I started as a care assistant within a nursing home and then became a field care manager in domiciliary care. I thoroughly loved working in a nursing home as a care assistant and knew that was the area of the care sector that I wanted to work in. However, I needed to go away and gain more experience and knowledge first so I could complete the role not only effectively but to a high standard - I completed my nurse training, working as a care assistant.

Once qualified, I made the move to the acute setting to gain more experience. During my time in the NHS, I became a sister in both urgent care and HDU. I also completed my bleep training for Worcestershire Acute Trust and regularly had the bleep over the weekends. The bleep is the clinical site lead, so I would be in charge of the clinical side of the whole of Alexandra Hospital. I enjoyed my time within the acute setting but felt I had gained the experience and knowledge I needed to form a strong base to continue my career within the primary sector and more specifically within a nursing home. I love many aspects of working within care services, but I would say one of my favourite aspects would have to be listening to other people's stories and life experiences.

In my spare time, one of my main hobbies would have to be showing my dogs, we have had the pleasure of running around the green carpets of crafts every year since I started showing. My dogs and horses take up the majority of my free time!

I have worked for Bupa for nearly 5 and a half years and have always worked in the hospitality industry.

I enjoy working in care services as every day is different here - seeing the residents enjoying their food and living a better, longer and healthier life is so rewarding.

I love spending my spare time in the garden growing all sorts of fruit, vegetables and flowers, I also enjoy watching my football team play and holidays in Spain with my wife.
