Mum has been a resident of The Springs for over 12 months now. From day one we have all been made very welcome, it has become a second home to us where we can relax with Mum and have a giggle. Mum has access to a lovely garden with many of her favourite plants just outside her door. We are allowed to
take in our dogs, which she and other residents also enjoy. The staff are friendly, kind and caring and when Mum is having a bad day they know how to cheer her up. When we are finding it upsetting with Mum having dementia and all that it brings, they are always there to support us too. Thank you all so much.
Reply from Rosie Smith, Customer Advisor at The Springs Care HomeHello and thank you for leaving such a positive review for the staff at The Springs Care Home. We are thrilled to hear both her and yourselves have been made to feel welcome straight away. It sounds as though Mum has had the ideal care home experience and we are so pleased that the home is a relaxing, friendly place for you to have a giggle with Mum. Thank you again for your kind words and best wishes!

My mum has been at The Springs for just over a month now and has moved from respite to permanent. As a family, we visited quite a few homes but The Springs suited us all especially Mum best.
The home is well presented, clean and tidy, rooms are ensuite and plenty big enough. The lounge and dining room
are large and separate from each other. Nice garden which we all sat in.
The staff are all very pleasant, Mum can generally understand and talk to them all. The food is very good and Mum has tried things she would have not done at home. Just looking forward to Mum meeting a couple of other residents who she can chat to and get involved in the activities together. The home when visiting across as being well managed and friendly and relaxed. Very good.

Our dear Mum has just lost her long battle with Dementia having been a resident at The Springs for the last 8 months.
The staff there have been so very kind, genuinely compassionate, caring, supportive and respectful, not only to Mum but also to members of our family.
They took the time to get to
know Mum and adapt her care to meet her individual needs. It was a great comfort to us knowing that she was in safe, professional and loving hands.
I have no hesitation in highly recommending The Springs.
Reply from Rosie Smith, Customer Advisor at The Springs Care HomeHello and thank you for taking the time to leave the staff at The Springs such a lovely review. Firstly I would like to offer condolences on behalf of BUPA for the loss of your Mum and would like to extend warm wishes to yourself and your family. It is always wonderful to hear our staff described as "kind", "caring" and "compassionate". We are pleased that you felt Mum was in such safe and supportive hands during her final days, we hope this helps provide some comfort during an undoubtedly difficult time. Thank you again and best wishes.

Mum moved in about 4 weeks ago and settled in very quickly. She has a nice room overlooking the garden. The home is clean and has a lovely atmosphere. Mum is a little funny about the food, but the staff have been very accommodating, arranging for her to have something she likes.
The staff are all very
kind and can't do enough to help. They treat Mum as an individual and cater for her needs.
The management are very approachable with an open door policy. All in all my brothers and I are very happy with the way everything is going.

My husband originally went to The Springs for respite care in October 2023 and stayed on as a permanent resident when it was realized I could not look after him at home due to my own health issues. We thought he would not settle easily into his new surroundings but the staff were so understanding, and
thoughtful treating him with kindness and dignity, nothing was too much trouble for them. I have been kept informed if any issues with his care have arisen and feel they are looking after me too. I can visit at any time and am greeted as a welcome member of The Springs family.
All my family would like to say a big thank you to everyone concerned in his care and also how pleased we are that he can appreciate the garden, weather permitting. There have been no complaints about the food which is excellent, varied, and of a high quality.
Reply from Grace Langfield, Customer Service Adviser at The Springs Care HomeThank you for such a lovely review. Mum has settled well and says it is warm and comfortable the food is very good. We are grateful that she is happy and feel sure that she
will have the best care whatever her circumstances. Our thanks to the staff for looking after her.

My mother has been a resident in this nursing home for over one year.
My father and I visited several nursing homes in the area and chose The Springs Care Home because of its homely, friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
The manager and staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
It’s
sad when you have to place your loved one in a home but here they make you feel happy and confident they are in good hands and cared for.

Since my sister came to stay at The Springs, my mind is so content. I know the standard of care and respect is amazing and she is always clean and happy when I visit. The staff are always ready to help and to answer any questions I might have concerns with. Nothing is ever too much trouble, which is

I couldn't have asked for better care for my dad. He was only at Springs for a short time, from November 2022 to January 2023. However, during this time, he went from not walking or eating to walking with a frame and enjoying his meals (which were amazing). Springs staff are courteous, friendly and
so incredibly professional and kind. My dad was looked after with the utmost respect and dignity. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Springs to anyone needing dementia care for a loved one.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.602)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.602) out of 10 for The Springs Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.602 for The Springs Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (230 Excellents x 5) + (64 Goods x 4) + (17 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 319 Ratings = 4.602
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Springs Care Home is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I have been a home manager for over 12 years. I am a registered nurse and have been for nearly 20 years, firstly working in the NHS as a band 5 nurse progressing to ward sister. I left the NHS in 2010 to work in my first care home, progressed very quickly to unit lead and then deputy manager, taking on my first home manager role in 2011 for Bupa. I have had regional roles within the sector, supporting other home managers and improving the quality of care.

I love working in care services as the difference we can make to people’s lives is massive; we are so privileged to help to enhance resident’s lives, and that of their families and friends, too.

Every day is different; being a part of such a fantastic team is so rewarding, with our combined goal to make a difference to those that we care for.

I am married with 2 grown-up children, I have 2 wonderful step-grandchildren and a new baby granddaughter. My family are my world; I love nothing more than everyone coming to our house for a get-together. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, especially whilst sat on a sunbed in the sunshine on holiday!

Job Title: Clinical Deputy Manager Joined: 2024

During my work experience week at school, I went to the ALEX (Redditch Acute Hospital) and worked on one of the wards for the week. In that week I knew I would always work within the care sector and I have ever since. I started as a care assistant within a nursing home and then became a field care manager in domiciliary care. I thoroughly loved working in a nursing home as a care assistant and knew that was the area of the care sector that I wanted to work in. However, I needed to go away and gain more experience and knowledge first so I could complete the role not only effectively but to a high standard - I completed my nurse training, working as a care assistant.

Once qualified, I made the move to the acute setting to gain more experience. During my time in the NHS, I became a sister in both urgent care and HDU. I also completed my bleep training for Worcestershire Acute Trust and regularly had the bleep over the weekends. The bleep is the clinical site lead, so I would be in charge of the clinical side of the whole of Alexandra Hospital. I enjoyed my time within the acute setting but felt I had gained the experience and knowledge I needed to form a strong base to continue my career within the primary sector and more specifically within a nursing home. I love many aspects of working within care services, but I would say one of my favourite aspects would have to be listening to other people's stories and life experiences.

In my spare time, one of my main hobbies would have to be showing my dogs, we have had the pleasure of running around the green carpets of crafts every year since I started showing. My dogs and horses take up the majority of my free time!
