We were so pleased with the standard of care our mother had during her respite stay.
Everyone was so kind and caring.

Although reluctant at first, Mum enjoyed her time with Signature immensely and would have no hesitation in going back for another stay.

Mum had a lovely respite stay at Signature.
The staff were all really helpful and supportive.
Mum was looked after very well and regained some of her strength and mobility.
The room that she had was very pleasant and had plenty of space.
Mum joined in with some of the activities, although she was a bit restricted being deaf.
I would recommend Signature and the staff to others.

Thank you!

All contact with the care home was professional, respectful and kind. Nothing was too much trouble. The carers were competent and empathetic and were interested in the residents as people. The receptionists and all management staff were welcoming and friendly. The facilities, outings and entertainment were amazing, meals of a very high standard and the rooms very well equipped and clean. The home felt very safe, beautifully presented and well run.

Signature is a home that we, as a family, can trust Mum not only has her needs met, but it is where Mum is genuinely loved by the staff.
Mum enjoys her room with a view over a beautiful big garden. She has an en-suite bathroom.

Mum began living downstairs, and now she lives upstairs in Reminiscence. When Mum moved to a room upstairs, it was such a smooth transition, thanks to the staff who moved everything for us. My sister and I stayed with Mum for lunch, and when we saw the new room, everything was arranged in her room like her room downstairs. Mum felt at home immediately! We were delighted!

Overall Experience

After viewing several care facilities in Winchester, I decided to place a 90-year-old lady with Signature for respite care after cataract surgery. Initially, this was for four weeks, but they were so accommodating and flexible that this extended several times to suit our needs. She suffers from short-term memory problems, but this was compassionately managed so that she settled in well and was never overwhelmed or lost within the home. She was encouraged to take part in all the activities and made some good friends whilst staying there. Her initial fears about what a 'care home' would be like were blown away at the initial visit, and Signature is as far away from the stereotypical 'lino and cabbage' as is possible to be. We found it really is a 21st Century place to stay. She really enjoyed the restaurant meals, and it was nearly impossible to find her in her room to take calls on her room phone as she was always doing something enjoyable. I cannot thank them enough.

Since Mum has been resident at Signature (from March 2022), we have been very impressed with the kindness shown, the level of care provided and the attention that she has been given. She has been supported and encouraged to make like-minded friends, as well as join in activities that might interest her.

Mum seems to have settled in really well, and we feel confident that she is receiving the care and support that she needs, which gives her close and loving family peace of mind.

Dad moved into Signature about 9-months ago. Whilst it was a big transition, he settled in well largely due to the kindness of all the staff. This includes not only the care and nursing staff but all involved in providing an excellent care experience. You are always greeted with a smile and a friendly word from whoever you encounter. The environment is welcoming and calm. Communication is good with staff being readily available to speak face to face and also communicate by phone and email. Dad is treated with compassion and respect. The liaison with local GPS is excellent. Huge thanks for all you do - it is greatly appreciated by all the family.

Mum is now a regular short-term respite resident at Signature. She looks forward to her stay and enjoys the companionship, activities and care from the friendly staff that she receives. As a family, we are happy in the knowledge that she is receiving 24-hour good quality care in lovely surroundings. Her dietary needs are well accommodated, and now the weather is better, she enjoys little strolls in the garden.

The care my aunt received from Signature was exemplary throughout her years living there. All the staff, not just the nurses and carers, were patient, kind and thoughtful towards her, and made her difficult last months as comfortable and easy as possible. She was shown genuine love and compassion, whilst high nursing standards were carried out. As a family, we were welcomed to visit her and sit with her as much as we wished. Communication with staff was good, and we feel that she had the peaceful end of life that she and we wanted. Grateful thanks to all at Signature from all her family and friends.

My great grandmum is here, and she appears to be so happy. She has made a lot of friends and gets on so well with the staff. She loves going into the garden looking at the flowers, as she was a keen gardener.

She also loves the food, especially the fish and chips on Friday!

This care home is a true 5-star, truly outstanding in every way. My mother was admitted to Signature last year with advanced dementia and frailty. From the beginning, she received compassion and understanding. She was allowed to be herself; they respected what she wanted, not just what they wanted and supported her.
Sadly as Mum regressed, she required more nursing, at Signature, they were able to do this and do it excellently. When she passed, she did do so with music and her family around her in a facility that she was familiar with, not having to be moved on to a hospital where the access would have been very restricted at this time. At the end, we were allowed in to sit with her for as long as we wanted, day or night. We said goodbye in the best possible way.
The support we ourselves received through this sad process was outstanding. Very compassionate.

There are not enough thank yous that I can say for what everyone at Signature did for Mum.

My 88-year-old mum has been so very fortunate to have received the most wonderful, kind and considerate care. As a family, we have been so impressed by the quality of resident centred care that has more than met all her health needs and kept her so safe and well.
All staff have taken time to listen and understand my mum’s needs and ensure that she felt settled and at home.
I have observed excellent leadership and a very high standard of communication that has ensured my mum received the best care possible and our family so well supported.
All staff have taken the time and to try to establish a trusting relationship so my mum felt at ease and at home. The kindness and care shown to my mum have been outstanding.
The home is just so beautiful, warm and welcoming .
The standard of food is excellent. The catering staff and management is high class. It was so apparent how much care has been taken to provide the very best nutrition for the residents.

Enormous thanks.

My mother and father moved to Signature five years ago, and sadly mum passed away in 2019, and my dad in early January 2022.
The quality of care has been superb, and my dad has been looked after with compassion and love. He thoroughly enjoyed the companionship of residents and staff alike, and fully engaged with all the activities on offer. It was never too much trouble to provide any new activity which might promote interest for my dad or other residents.
My dad particularly enjoyed the gardening club in the summer and was able to grow plants, which he had enjoyed doing prior to the move from his home in Essex. He regularly exercised on the cycle in front of a large screen, which took him to places across the world which he would have delight in telling me when I phoned him each evening.

My wife and I were always welcomed at Signature, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Thank you to everyone at Signature for all they did to ensure my father was happy and secure.

Dad was a resident of Sunrise for just over 10-years. Throughout that time, he was treated with love, compassion, and above all, dignity. As he undertook his journey along the dementia pathway, he was accompanied each step of the way, and although painful to see his gradual deterioration, we were always incredibly thankful that he was looked after so well.

I will never be able to thank the staff enough for how they cared for him - it is truly a special place, and I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending anyone to go and visit and see for yourselves what a wonderful facility it is.

Our father moved into Sunrise of Winchester almost 10 years ago. He has been looked after with compassion, with extreme care and with no shortage of humour for his entire stay. He has always felt safe and has made friendships with staff who he trusts. We, his family, have also been extremely happy with the relationship we have developed with Sunrise; nothing has been too much trouble and our feelings and wishes, as well as Dad's, have always been considered. We have already recommended Sunrise to friends and will have no hesitation in doing so again.

Overall Experience
My parents found the transition tricky, especially my mother whose mind sadly went downhill fast on arrival, such was her disorientation. However, Sunrise of Winchester could not have been more supportive and knowledgeable in how they handled her, my father and their separate requirements. The medical cover, as far as my inexpert eye could judge, was spot on.

I really want to stress how expert they were at judging their care on the palliative pathways, they both died this year aged 100 and 97. I am only aware of Sunrise suffering 2 deaths from Covid. Yet this was achieved whilst still allowing enhanced visitor status throughout, so both my parents were seen twice a week in person in their room by me or one of my brothers, no plastic screens but real physical contact. I cannot stress how important this was as they both came to the end of their lives. Sunrise showed real judgemental courage in being permissive whilst other care homes seemed total exclusion zones. Thank you Sunrise.
