My aunt was with you for nearly eight years. In that time, she received the best care that I could possibly have hoped for. The level and consistency of the patience and affection shown to her never ceased to amaze me. It was obvious that she was happy in her surroundings.

My father was at Sunrise of Winchester for 4 years until his death last Saturday. He was initially in the main home and latterly on the dementia wing. The care and consideration, particularly on the Dementia wing, was exemplary and staff seemed to genuinely enjoy their contact with him.

After both of my parents spent a prolonged spell in hospital, they moved into Sunrise of Winchester. The staff are so warm and welcoming and this has really helped to settle them in as much as possible. The home is very well decorated and furnished, almost like a hotel, so you do wonder if you are in
a care community. We always feel we are welcome when we visit and feel any queries we have are dealt with quickly.

The staff at Sunrise of Winchester have exceeded all my expectations over the Christmas period by offering exceptional care and consideration to her during an important period and also when I was unable to support my mother as well as I would have liked.

My parents have been at Sunrise of Winchester for nearly 2 years and we have found that EVERYONE at Sunrise Winchester, without fail, is courteous, helpful and treats the residents as if they were their own member of the family. My father has been able to settle and relax in the reminiscent community,
whilst allowing my mother to still have her independence in the assisted living area and yet can visit dad whenever she feels able. The residents are valued and loved and their relatives are equally accepted no matter the time of day or night. The staff, from the helpers in the kitchen, the housekeeping, the carers, the nursing staff to the concierge, activities coordinators and administrative managers, all make relatives feel welcome, keep them informed and show sensitivity and tact when dealing with "trickier" residents or situations.

My Aunt was well looked after from her arrival at Sunrise in 2011 until her death at 96 years old in January 2018.
The staff were kind and helpful and always seemed happy which I am sure helped the residents immensely.
Sunrise must rate as one of the best in the country.

We moved my father to Sunrise after being told by his previous care home that they could no longer care for him. He was there for 4 weeks, was in bed the whole time and got very agitated, confused and stressed due to his Parkinsons. The day after arriving at Sunrise he was up, dressed, teeth in, glasses
on and hearing aids in, what a transformation. After only 2 weeks at Sunrise, it is such a joy for the family to visit. My mother is 96 and to see her 94-year-old husband of 72 years so well looked after has helped her to relax and settle into life at home on her own. In two week he has started to stand and walk again. He has put on weight and has a smile on his face. The staff at Sunrise are incredibly kind and caring and go out of their way to give my father back his dignity and greater independence.

Sunrise of Winchester is undoubtedly a very superior care home. The furnishings, decor and facilities are excellent. There is a very pleasant restaurant where the staff are helpful in providing assistance to residents that need help or advice and the food is of a good standard. There is also a Bistro
which provides facilities for residents to obtain hot drinks and light refreshments throughout the day.


The care staff are most caring at all levels and they take an interest in the residents by providing 24-hour care to ensure the comfort of the residents and provide administration of drugs and other needs.


There are many daily activities laid on for the enjoyment of residents and shopping trips and visits to places of interest are also provided.


I thoroughly recommend this care home to any would-be residents.

My mother has received excellent and sensitive care over the 2 years+ she has been a resident. She has not been the easiest person to look after, and I would rate the kindness and understanding of the staff as excellent.


My only 'beef' is that the cost, at well over twice the national average, is

prohibitive! (according to a leading newspaper's statement of national average fees). I would only recommend Sunrise to someone whose monthly income was able to cover the cost of the care!

Of all the care homes I looked at for my father Sunrise was different. It does not feel like a care home, it feels more like a hotel and the care is given in a subtle way. There is a range of care packages depending on the needs of the resident. All the staff have a 'can do' attitude and treat the
residents with respect and dignity. There is a range of activities which residents can join in with. The building is modern and purpose built with good quality furniture, carpets, a library, activities room and an informal meeting area where you can meet residents. The quality and variety of food is good. It is a place where all your worries are taken away from you - this, of course, comes with a cost and in comparison to other care homes it is on the expensive side. The strapline for the home is "assisted living" and I do think that is what it provides.

I am extremely grateful for the support and care given to my husband. We both benefit from the help of the carers and staff. I take comfort that my husband is cared for 24 hours a day - especially at night when I am not there.

My mother first stayed at Sunrise Winchester for 30 days' respite care to help her recover from anxiety she was experiencing due to being isolated at home. She settled in very well with the help and support of the excellent staff and soon began to thrive.


We made the decision for her stay to become

permanent as she enjoyed the
community and activities, things that she was missing at home. Being 93 means she
does not have many surviving friends and Sunrise's community has helped her make
new friends.


She has her own furniture in her room which is so homely and she is supported very well
whilst retaining her independence. She is now free from the responsibility of looking after herself and her home.

Visited to celebrate a resident's birthday and was immediately welcomed in a warm, helpful manner.The event was beautifully arranged and run by the ever-caring personnel. I was particularly impressed when a number of VIPs attended and they were properly and individually announced by one of the Managers.
This was done in a thoughtful, unobtrusive way since it would have been easy to spoil the family atmosphere which continued until the event ended.

Staff are caring and genuinely want the best for residents. More real understanding of how to treat dementia in early stages might be worth looking into. Overall, I'm happy with the home but for the amount we pay (£1200 per week) I feel we should get more than we are.

I have always loved the culinary arts, a talent I inherited from my grandfather, who already succeeded in his career and has been an inspiration to me from my childhood.


I studied Catering Management at a prestigious award-winning University in India SIHM. I have worked in many five-star hotels including the Taj Group of hotels in India and many luxury restaurants in the UK. I am proud to be a part of the Signature group and to help make a difference in our resident’s day as I strongly believe that food always gives everyone pleasure.
