I have found all the staff friendly, efficient, very professional, kind and welcoming. I arrived full of trepidation and shall leave full of gratitude and sad to miss my new friends. I would not hesitate to recommend Bramley.

Mum has settled into life in a care home extremely well. The staff have been very sensitive to her quirky needs and in general, have a very flexible and personalised approach to caring for her. They have sensitively managed her occasional outbursts and always inform me of any incidents. She always enjoys
the activities (unless it's flower arranging!) and loves any trips.
Reply from Paula Stone, Care Manager at Bramley HouseThank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure caring for your mother.

Excellent care home, more like a country hotel. Staff in the majority are long-term. Food is cooked on-site and geared towards more elderly residents. Beautiful gardens, which residents are encouraged to use and help with planting etc. Also, good social activities geared towards events outside the home.
Highly recommend.

There is a calm, caring and friendly atmosphere at Bramley House. The home is efficiently run with all the staff working as a cohesive team and an attitude that nothing is too much trouble. The team is unfailingly caring, supporting and compassionate to our family member, who is always addressed appropriately
and with respect. There is a focus on tailoring delivery to suit both their character and needs. Care is provided with warmth, humour and empathy. It has been a huge relief to know our family member is so well supported 24/7, is safe and is truly cared about by all the team. The staff are extremely welcoming to all our family, and the constant open communication is reassuring. The manager is hands-on, proactive and applicable. She shows great respect and empathy for residents. Put simply, Bramley House is highly recommended both for prospective residents and for the care and support, which is also extended to their family. We cannot thank the whole team enough.

Mum had been at Bramley Lodge for nearly two years. She was cared for with much love and dignity. Mum had vascular dementia, so could be strong-willed at times, but that staff (all of them) were amazing and patient with her. Cannot praise highly enough the "entertainment" team. The cleanliness of the
home was excellent. The food Mum just loved. The nursing team became family too. Thank you.

My father was a resident at Bramley House for nearly two years until his death at the beginning of March.
It was difficult to move my father into a care home as I had cared for him in my own home when his physical and mental condition deteriorated. Bramley House is a lovely home with local staff who
really care. The management structure is good and any concerns are dealt with. The staff make you feel welcome. My father died of Covid and his end of life care was all I could have hoped for. I would strongly recommend Bramley House to anyone seeking residential care.

Whenever we have visited Mum she always appears happy, clean and well-fed. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. We cannot praise the entertainments team enough, also during lockdown, they have gone above and beyond. Social media has come into its own and it is great to see all the photos.
Always kept informed of any changes in Mum's health or behaviour.

I visited my mother-in-law today and was so impressed with the thought that has gone into the garden room and allowing me to visit her in comfort and that she was completely safe. I am confident that in these times the safest place for her to be is Bramley House.

My mother has been at Bramley House for a considerable time - approximately six years. The staff have never ceased to show their remarkable patience and kindness towards her.
Since the recent "shut down" they have proved that their dedication to care deserves enormous respect and praise.

Friendly, homely environment, caring staff who always greet Mother by her first name on arrival and try their best to accommodate her in the same room, so it is as familiar to her as possible.
There appears to be a lot of activities planned and the garden with the chickens is a delight and kept in
wonderful order.
Mother does enjoy her respite visits and appreciates the kindness of all who care for her, which is very reassuring when we leave her.
Bramley House has recently been a star in helping us out in an emergency at home.
A very big thank you to all.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.536)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.536) out of 10 for Bramley House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.686 for Bramley House is calculated as follows: ( (152 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 191 Ratings = 4.686
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.85 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bramley House is based on 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.85
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 14 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
