10/10 for care of Father.
Staff are excellent. They have gone beyond to help with Dad and his care.
Always kept us informed of what was happening.
Staff are professional and friendly, put the 'care' in care home. Have told everybody how good this place is.

Would move in myself.

We are extremely happy with everything we've seen so far. The staff are all very helpful, friendly and caring. Nothing is too much trouble for them. My mum is very happy in the home. She thinks she is in a hotel. The meals are very good and the home is very clean throughout. There are plenty of activities to stimulate the residents, which is very good.

Dad is getting very good care and is clean, well presented and looked after. Sadly, due to his mobility issues, he is in his room a lot. It is a relief for us to know he is safe and cared for.

I find the facilities are excellent, and the staff are very pleasant and understanding. There seems to be a lot of entertainment and things to do most days. I understand the food is excellent and the dining room looks like a posh restaurant as well as the décor throughout the building. As you come in they have been awarded 5 stars by a governing body. Well done to all!

We were made very welcome when we visited Barchester Cepen Lodge Care Home for a visit and were very impressed by the friendly and helpful staff and the high standard of the rooms and facilities. We have initially requested four weeks of respite care while we see how Mum settles and we cannot fault the care and kindness she has received so far. All the staff we have met, including chefs, maintenance, receptionists and care staff, have been so lovely and nothing has been too much trouble. Mum has settled well and all the staff are working hard to try to involve her in activities and encouraging her to make some new friends. There is a real homely feel and we are so pleased to have found such a lovely care home for Mum.

All welcomed by reception when entering the home as if you're a family member. All staff are polite and friendly. Relative resident is treated with respect and dignity and all staff work hard to involve him in conversations and activities (he can be quite grumpy and difficult at times!)

Family are kept informed of his wellbeing and health conditions. The home is always happy to allow very young family members to visit (toddlers) and the resident's pet dog. Glad we chose Cepen Lodge.

Lovely surroundings, positive carers, always on hand to help when needed. They make residents and visitors feel like family. Never a dull moment. The carers are always positive and encourage residents to be interactive in activities. Me and the family feel it's a home away from home.

Visited the home to take in my police dog to show the residents. Warm, friendly environment with lots of smiling faces, lots of people interested in the dog (springer) they were able to engage with the dog and lots of comments of remembering dogs they have had. Great to see the reaction to the dog and hopefully was a highlight for people. Will drop back in again soon.

Most of the staff are excellent nearly 75% of them. It's now my husband's family because of dementia. I could not have chosen a better home. It feels like a home from home. I would rate this home the best locally, excellent all around with staff and residents.

A lovely home, with lovely people who really care. Mum is very happy here. The events coordinator is great, she really knows how to engage the residents and comes up with some fantastic ideas for them. Always some sort of entertainment going on. Would highly recommend this home.

Review from Adrian W (Son of Resident) published on 14 June 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My Mum is currently in Cepen Lodge and has been at the facility for a number of months now.
She resides on 'Memory Lane' where the care is centred around dementia care.
Unfortunately, the nature of her dementia means that she can be quite challenging at times, with family, and carers alike.
In conjunction with the Social Work department, we examined the opportunities in over 60 care homes within the area and Cepen Lodge represented the best facilities for stimulation and the appropriate security for Mum as her illness had worsened and it deemed necessary for her to have a permanent placement.
When visiting and by frequent phone contact, the staff are always polite and in conversation, it is easy to see that they have got to Mum as an individual.
The rooms are always tidy and Mum is always clean and presentable in appropriate clothes for her.
The food appears appetising and is served at a dining area if desired.
The range of stimulus available to Mum at the home is second to none. I would like to concentrate on the staff at Cepen Lodge.
I am aware that no names should be included, but by reading this submission, the staff concerned will know who they are - and in what high regard they are held.
The staff, without exception, are all kind and polite and personally informative on the phone (you know they have got to know Mum), but more importantly, there is never a question of anyone being judgemental about family members, despite circumstances.
I am a senior health care provider in the NHS and can view 'care' with an objective viewpoint, however, it is delivered.

I have been and remain singularly impressed with the training behind what has produced a focused and caring group of staff. I am impressed with the interviewing techniques that have chosen the right staff who care and moreover, I hold the staff who look after my Mum on a regular basis in high regard.
