Very happy with the care my partner received for a 3 week respite care. He appeared well cared for and happy. Staff were always smiling and approachable. The physical condition of the surroundings including his room and communal areas was very good. Very good value for money. My partner had, in the past, received inferior care to this for a much higher price.

I cannot praise highly enough the staff at Canning Court. Everyone is so kind and supportive. Nothing is too much trouble and I am so grateful to each and every member of staff for their patience and kindness. They somehow manage to be professional in their work whilst maintaining a very personal caring approach. It is very much appreciated by my family. There is only one area of difficulty in preventing one or two residents from wandering into Mum's room and taking things while she is sleeping which she does a lot. This continues to be a frustrating problem.

As a family we are very pleased with the care support and understanding my wife has received since she became a resident of the Canning Court Care Home just over 6 months ago. At first she did not find it easy to adapt to being in a care home environment. Thankfully, the staff appreciated her situation and were mindful of the need to help her become settled and feel more at home in her new surroundings. I believe we have been very fortunate to have found what I regard as a very excellent care home for my wife's needs.

Mum is on a puree diet due to a choking incident and she tells me the food is very good. A great effort is made with all the activities to include arts & crafts, physical exercise in a fun way ie ball throwing - lots of laughter. Watching films and listening to music both on TV and live music. Great value for money in comparison to other homes.

Dad enjoyed his stay at Canning Court. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and encouraged him to be as independent as he could safely.
Dad felt comfortable and relaxed which made his recovery time from hospital half of what we expected it to be.
I would recommend Canning Court for the support they gave my dad as well as the help and support given to me.

The place was clean, the staff personable, the food good and support outstanding. Thank you

Overall Experience

I originally left a 5 start review after only 3 weeks of my wife's stay at Cannon Court, however by June 2025 I had completely changed my opinion. In January 2025 my wife had an incident which was described by staff as a 'fall' (although this was unwitnessed). She has a broken nose, badly bruised face and swollen eye, 12 staples in the other side of her head and severe bruising to her neck (both sides). On arrival at the A&E department in Hospital the doctor asked how she had come to get the injuries and when I said potentially as a result of a fall, she was shocked and stated the injuries were 'not consistent with that of a fall'. My wife suffers from dementia so she could not describe what happened to her. An investigation concluded that there was no witnesses to whatever occurred so it was 'more than likely' a fall! My wife's behaviour was difficult for staff to control and she had regular outbursts but the CH were aware of this and accepted her as a resident.
