Following a major stroke, my wife came to Canning Court Care Home on May 15th 2022 and has received the best possible care from all of the staff and management.
None of the staff pass her room without a cheerful 'hello' or joke. I often arrive to the sound of my wife and staff laughing very loudly.

It is really pleasing to hear you felt that your wife received the best possible care from all of the staff and management. Thank you for choosing Canning Court for your wife's stay.

I am so pleased that we found Canning Court Care Home, since coming to live here my husband seems a lot more settled, the staff are lovely and very helpful. I would also like to say that the staff/visitor meeting is a great idea as it gives everyone a chance to talk and suggest different things. I would
highly recommend anyone.

My wife had a stroke at Easter 2021 and as a resident needed a high level of care. I was recommended to Canning Court Care Home in Stratford-upon-Avon but concerned as they seem to specialise in people with dementia, however, after ten weeks, I can confirm that the level of care has been extremely high.
My wife is happy and always telling me how good the staff are, so well done Bupa.

My wife has been a long term resident at this home, never have I had cause to complain. Since lockdown with its problems, management have provided a monthly review of all they are doing to contain the situation; the staff advise you by phone how residents are getting on, provide regular photos of resident
and activities, and when I had an accident at home all signed a card, wishing me the best - what more can one say.
Reply from Alison Horridge, Customer Advisor on behalf of the team at Canning Court Care HomeThank you for your lovely review. As my husband is unable to walk and has dementia, I feel his care and medical aid is very important. He is well looked after in both these fields. He is taken into the dining room and lounge area so that he can meet and see other people, which I find very important.

The staff and management at Canning Court - a home that really CARES for up to 64 Residents with severe Dementia - are undoubtedly well lead, motivated, compassionate kind and caring. My mother has been a resident for 5+ years. It is her home - I know she feels safe, secure and happy in her own way
amongst those who care for her. The team also care for the extended family - my father 94yo pre-Covid visited Mum EVERY DAY. Since March visits have been curtailed BUT recently the team have arranged for my father to have window visits, then pod visits and most recently for the first time in nearly 12 months he was able - (pre-tested) and PPE'd - to sit with my Mum hold her hand and spend time just being together. What it meant to my father was beyond words. The team at Canning treats him as family, without their support Covid would have been even a more lonely time. The family are so grateful for all the team do - they go above and beyond - truly angel of care. Thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.656)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.656) out of 10 for Canning Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.656 for Canning Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (204 Excellents x 5) + (50 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (4 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 270 Ratings = 4.656
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Canning Court Care Home is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 64 registered maximum number of service users is 12.8, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
