Everyone at the home has been fantastic in accomodating my visit to see my mother during the Covid pandemic. Travelling from overseas is difficult as it is, but the staff have made my visits very easy while adhering to Covid protocols. Thank you.

The staff and management at Canning Court - a home that really CARES for up to 64 Residents with severe Dementia - are undoubtedly well lead, motivated, compassionate kind and caring. My mother has been a resident for 5+ years. It is her home - I know she feels safe, secure and happy in her own way amongst those who care for her. The team also care for the extended family - my father 94yo pre-Covid visited Mum EVERY DAY. Since March visits have been curtailed BUT recently the team have arranged for my father to have window visits, then pod visits and most recently for the first time in nearly 12 months he was able - (pre-tested) and PPE'd - to sit with my Mum hold her hand and spend time just being together. What it meant to my father was beyond words. The team at Canning treats him as family, without their support Covid would have been even a more lonely time. The family are so grateful for all the team do - they go above and beyond - truly angel of care. Thank you.

I have seen my mum treated with care, consideration, dignity and great empathy. Staff have taken the time to get to know the things my mum likes to do. Although visits during lockdown have not been what would have been in normal circumstances, staff have gone to great lengths to ensure visits are as good as they can be and are more than happy to discuss anything about my mum's care and how she is doing. I have found communication to be appropriate, always informed of any specific events concerning my mum.

I want to pass on most sincere and heartfelt thanks to all at Canning Court for your amazing response to Covid-19 and the way you continue to put the safety and wellbeing of residents before your own. The way you have to adjust to changing rules, guidance and requests – testing, PPE, vaccinations, handling visits with all the associated added testing, safe pods, window visits etc etc is amazing. I fully understand the stresses you and all your staff are under, having to balance resident care, staff safety and at the same time deal with family needs, and I thank you for all you are doing.
Mum could not be in a better place – truly her caring 'home'. Dad, who understandably misses her greatly (after 70+ years of marriage and following 4+ years of daily visits since she was first admitted) but is also extremely grateful for all the staff, who over the years, have taken him into their ‘family’ at Canning Court.

You are all heroes.

I am really pleased that your father is able to visit and see his wife in our visiting pod, and it is a pleasure to have him as part of our ‘family’ at Canning Court.

I will share your comments with all staff as I am sure that they would like to read them, and I would like to thank you on their behalf.

My mother has dementia and other health issues and can be very challenging. All the staff at Canning Court have been absolutely brilliant with her. The nursing staff look after her incredibly well and know when she needs additional pain relief or whether something else is brewing. The kitchen and dining staff always make sure my mum drinks and eats plenty. The cleaning staff also spend a lot of time with the residents, sitting and talking with them. Like most care homes there is always a movement of staff but all the staff I have met, whether employed or agency, have been lovely and I cannot fault the care that my mother receives.

My mother came to Canning Court BUPA home via Social Services based in the hospital in July 2019. Her social worker had arranged the transfer from hospital where she was based.

It's hard to know just how much my mother is actually understanding as she has vascular dementia but she seems to be content and people talk to her with affection. She is as well as she can hope for.

Terrible, bland fatty, carbohydrate food. Missing front tooth, containing a large percentage of gold. Missing watch. No jug for water in the room. No help with TV. No TV controller. Wearing an old man's cardigan. Not being dressed in her own clothes. Clothes missing. Sticky floor in the room. No hearing aid. For a Bupa property care home I am shocked and appalled by its performance. It has taken 9 months so far to get a hearing test.

Canning Court is a very good care home. However, the main problem is staff. The turnover of staff is unbelievable- sometimes a new employee only staying for a couple of shifts. Agency staff are used more than permanent staff which is not good for the continuing care of dementia patients. The staff that are there are excellent.

We have encountered the greatest kindness and consideration in the care of my mother. At all times she has been treated with dignity and respect and her changing needs have been addressed promptly and efficiently. We never have any contact with office management. My mother always says she is happy here when asked and we can see she is calm and feels safe.

My mother is extremely deaf and this can create a problem in her understanding unless her hearing aids are put in and checked that they are working. This must be a priority for her. Activities are very limiting due to hearing problems. Overall, we are happy with the home.

Moved our mother into Canning Court Nursing Home in early 2016 (she is 85, diagnosed Alzheimers). She had previously been in a care home in Alcester. The team are great. Our mother is happier at Canning Court - she is eating better, she is cleaner, she has made new friends and she gets more stimulation.
