Welcome to Ashlands Manor; a lovely and luxurious care home located in the charming village of Ashton-on-Mersey in Sale, South Manchester.

Ashlands Manor is a purpose-built 57 bed ‘new generation’ care facility that has been expertly designed to meet all current CQC requirements and provides the highest standards of safety, comfort and care. The care home offers residential and specialist dementia care.

Internally, the attention to detail is impressive. The high specification and décor of Ashlands Manor have been carefully considered by an interior designer, creating stylish yet comfortable and practical spaces for residents to enjoy.

Arranged over three floors, the facilities at Ashlands Manor are exceptional, with each floor enjoying its own communal lounge and dining room. All bedrooms boast en-suite wet rooms, and there is also a spa-assisted bathroom, hairdresser and nail bar.

There is a beautiful, mature garden at Ashlands Manor, along with an additional sensory garden and a terrace to the first floor. Making the most of its gorgeous grounds, almost all of the ground floor bedrooms have direct access to the gardens.

I am a live-in carer, my client got a place in your care home to be nearer to family. I went over to see how they were settling in. My first impression was a very friendly and calming place. Beautiful surroundings. Everyone was so friendly, no one was in a panic. The decor was second to none and a lot
of activity for all to do. Had a lovely two days and left my client (friend) very happy and so were they.

The staff on the ground floor are amazing. So kind and caring. The food is lovely and there are non-stop activities. Whenever we visited they offered us refreshments. We really enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden with all the residents when visiting. The medical and nursing care are always spot

The care and service at Ashlands are first class! Absolutely, all the staff were wonderful with Mum, so caring and kind. The manager, accountant, receptionists, carers and everyone involved in the running of the centre are very professional and communicative, providing regular email updates. The daily
activities and events are well thought out, and Mum raved about the fabulous meals provided. Mum's carers were wonderful, taking time to sit with her, talk to and comfort her when she needed it. I can't speak highly enough of Mum's time at Ashlands.

I would recommend and commend without hesitation the caring, professional and thoughtful staff at Ashlands Manor Care Centre which includes carers, catering, cleaning, hospitality, activities, admin, reception and DIY staff, visiting hairdressers and the management, especially during the difficult last
few years of the pandemic. My parents lived initially on the residential floor and then on the nursing care floor. My dad passed away in hospital and my mum passed away at the home where she was given excellent end of life care by all levels of staff, in particular, the nursing staff who displayed the utmost professionalism, love and gentle humour and they also supported our family. Ashlands have strategies to care for their residents treating them as individuals and considering their exact and changing needs and they are very approachable if there are any concerns. The home has a happy, sociable and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you so much Ashlands Manor Care Centre.

Mum has been in Ashlands since March and has settled in very well. Her room is perfect for her and the staff have gone over and above to get to know her. The activities that mum has been doing have really brought her out of herself and helped her get to know other residents. Mum has found her new home.

My mother has been a resident for a while and the staff at Ashlands Manor have been consistently excellent in providing a warm and caring environment. Recently they have also been very helpful in facilitating my visits while still maintaining covid safety protocols. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

My father receives excellent care and support. He enjoys participating in the activities programmes, and he seems very happy and content at Ashlands. The staff (carers, receptionists, and support staff) are always very helpful and communicative. Communication from management is less good, and there
have been times during the pandemic when communication was confusing or non-existent.

My husband appears happy and well cared for. Home is always clean and tidy, as is my husband and his room. My only quibble is about communications. I find it highly impossible to phone and receive a reply, so I have given up trying. I would suggest more phones available and a longer time slot available.

My mu is very settled and happy in Ashland Manor. The environment is a home from home set-up, which is what the transition for my mum into residential care was stress-free for all concerned. As it's a purpose-built dementia care home, my mum enjoys the freedom to walk around unhindered and has her "own"

On arrival at Ashlands Manor, my mum was quite weak, tired and undernourished. After only a couple of weeks, my mum is noticeable stronger, more energised and eating and drinking well. In short, much healthier than she has been in a while. The care and attention from the staff is excellent from getting
my mum her favourite foods to encouraging her to join in with activities. A big thank you to care team and all of the team for the care, patience and respect given.

Job Title: Home Manager

Hello, my name is Octavia, and I’m delighted to introduce myself as the newly promoted Home Manager at Ashlands Manor Care Centre. I began my journey in healthcare back in 2000 as a student nurse, and since qualifying, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings, including Intensive Care, medical and surgical wards, primary care, and corporate health. Six years ago, I moved into health and social care—and I haven’t looked back since. Working in a care home environment has been incredibly rewarding, and it’s where I’ve truly found my passion. I have a strong interest in end-of-life care and dementia support, and I find deep fulfilment in helping residents live with dignity, comfort, and connection. Before joining New Care, I held roles as a Unit Manager and also acted as Deputy Manager, which gave me valuable experience in leading care teams and maintaining high-quality care standards. When I discovered New Care, I immediately felt aligned with their values and vision. Their commitment to person-centred care, delivered in beautifully designed and engaging environments, is something I’m proud to be part of. Ashlands Manor is a truly special place, and I feel honoured to lead such a dedicated and compassionate team. In my new role as Home Manager, I remain committed to supporting both residents and staff, fostering a culture of respect, kindness, and excellence. I began working within the care industry when I was 18. I started off as a care assistant in a residential care home after looking after my mum. Over the years I have progressed up to team leader, in home trainer and now working as the head of residential care here at Ashlands. During this time, I have worked with a variety of people from all walks of life. Developing my skills along the way. I have a particular passion for dementia and person-centred care. I particularly enjoy my Job here at Ashland's as it allows me to bring together the skills I have learnt while continuing to develop and provide person centred care to our residents.

I joined Newcare in November 2021 as a Team Leader and have worked in the care sector over 15 years in various roles starting as a bank care assistant and moving up to Deputy Manager in my previous job. I am passionate about providing person centred care to the residents we support. My greatest reward in care is working with people living with Dementia. I love working in care as it is fulfilling in making a difference in the residents’ lives, we support and to ensure that they are happy and cared for. I hold a Level 3 in Health and Social Care and a NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Leadership and Management. Since joining Newcare it was evident that the company put the residents first as stated in its Philosophy and vision. I am happy to be a part of Ashlands team and will continue to ensure our residents are cared for to the high standard whilst upholding the company's values.

I am relatively new to care, with this being my first job within the sector, having worked in the Hospitality and Leisure industry for the last ten years, and gaining my degree in Events Management and Marketing, then working in management at various pubs, restaurants, golf clubs and arenas along the way. I ultimately had a real desire to work within the healthcare sector and was very keen to bring my wide knowledge and experience from my previous roles into this job. I love my job and being able to create a lasting impact on people and being able to make some fantastic new memories with our precious residents and reminisce on the old ones too.
