Opened in December 2009, Tallis House is a modern purpose built care home offering en-suite rooms and flat screen TVs as standard. Residents enjoy comfortable surroundings, freshly prepared meals cooked by the head chef, a relaxing café, a hairdressing salon and lovely gardens to take a walk through.

The home is closely linked with the local School and Church and was named after Thomas Tallis, the 16th Century composer who lived at the Abbey, following a competition at the School Fete.

My aunt has been in this care home for over a year now, through all the covid lockdown, and I have to say that through all of this, I have been extremely satisfied with her care. The senior management have been so helpful and equally the carers on her floor have always been very caring and supportive
to her needs. I cannot fault them. When I visit (which is quite often) I always feel I am in a very happy atmosphere. Thank you for looking after her with love and care.

On regular visits to Tallis House, we always see the devotion and outstanding care that all of the staff give to their residents. The manager, nurses, care staff and housekeepers are superb, always smiling and friendly. We have observed all of the staff working tirelessly at all times. Communication
from Tallis House to us is second to none. Our dad is settled and very happy with his surrounding, and although often confused, is always reassured by all staff members. Well done, and thank you!

Mum has been in Tallis House since January 2020. She has thrived since she has been there, she has put on weight, her personal hygiene has improved, and most importantly, she has not been il while she has been there, despite her dementia. I truly believe if she has still been at home, she would not

Mom went into Tallie House from the hospital in September 2020 - so was fantastic to see Mom inside Tallis House after such a long time. The staff were all very friendly and approachable. Mum was very happy to see me and has settled in very well. We had a great time catching up, and I'm looking forward
to weekly visits. Tallis House was clean, bright and welcoming.

Due to circumstances beyond anyone control, this was my first visit to the home. The staff had put in a great deal of effort into welcoming visitors and made the visits pleasant for everybody. My mother looked very well, and I was impressed with everything I saw. It would not be proper to comment on
all the options, as I don't have first-hand experience of everything listed.

My uncle has been in Tallis House for a short period of time. I have visited the home several times to drop goods for my uncle, and I have to say, whatever member of staff I have engaged with at the entrance or spoken to on the phone have been kind, helpful and very efficient and communication has been
great. I had my first visit today, and I am extremely pleased with the care and support he is receiving; my uncle was very contented. Thank you to all the wonderful staff/carers that are doing an amazing job of keeping him safe along with all the other residents. Thank you all so much for what you continue to do.

A relative came to Tallis House from the hospital so that they could be assessed for future care needs. The staff, at Tallis House, have been excellent. Most notably, four particular members of staff. Thank you for all that you do and for keeping us all informed despite being so very busy. Thank you

This is the most excellent residential home. I have visited others that my close family have lived in, but this is by far the best. It is clean, welcoming and homely, and the staff can't do enough for my mum. The food is excellent. I just can't praise Tallis House enough.

My elderly parents both with dementia have been looked after with huge care consideration and kindness and always in good spirits.
I understand they have been Covid free up to now.
This is amazing.
We could not have made a better choice for them both and are thankful every day that they are being
cared for so well especially with their mental and physical challenges.

I just can't fault Tallis House. The staff and management are kind, helpful and very efficient. My wife is well looked after and is happy there. I can only say a big 'thank you' on behalf of my wife and myself. Would I recommend Tallis House? I certainly would!

I cannot praise Tallis House and the staff enough for everything they do for my Mum. I never worry about Mum whilst she is here. There is great communication between staff and families. All the staff knows my Mum so well. The recent introduction of garden visits has been so special for me - to be able
to see my Mum and yet I know how safe it all is for her. Thank you.

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. You can phone any time, day or night. My mother-in-law came in for 2 weeks respite in March. She enjoyed it so much she has decided to stay. We are really pleased she is being looked after.

My ethos in my role is that with great teamwork, we can achieve anything for our residents and their families, and all our staff members contribute to the success of our home. Our residents are at the centre of everything we do at Tallis House.

My name is Joanne. I am one of the Deputy Managers at Tallis House, where I have been proudly working since 2016. I thoroughly enjoy being part of a great team, supporting my colleagues in their day-to-day duties, and providing high-quality care to our wonderful residents.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as Level 3 qualifications in End of Life Care and Dementia Care. I bring a positive energy to my work, complemented by a great sense of humour and a love for laughter.


Outside of work, I enjoy unwinding with TV series, swimming, attending live music events, and spending quality time with my family.

My name is Grace, and I am one of the Deputy Managers at Tallis House. I began my journey with Runwood in 2017, returned in 2023, and have been proud to work here ever since. I love working with a fantastic team, improving the quality of life for our residents, and embracing the fact that every day brings something new and exciting.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as an Access to Nursing and Midwifery Diploma. A fun fact about me is my obsession with sausage dogs—they’re my absolute favourite!


In my spare time, I enjoy watching crime documentaries, going ghost hunting, and spending quality time with my family.

Hi, I’m Catherine, the Home Administrator for Tallis House, where I’ve proudly worked for 14 years. I truly enjoy being part of such a dedicated team, connecting with residents, and getting to know their families.
