Opened in December 2009, Tallis House is a modern purpose built care home offering en-suite rooms and flat screen TVs as standard. Residents enjoy comfortable surroundings, freshly prepared meals cooked by the head chef, a relaxing café, a hairdressing salon and lovely gardens to take a walk through.

The home is closely linked with the local School and Church and was named after Thomas Tallis, the 16th Century composer who lived at the Abbey, following a competition at the School Fete.

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. You can phone any time, day or night. My mother-in-law came in for 2 weeks respite in March. She enjoyed it so much she has decided to stay. We are really pleased she is being looked after.

From the moment my dad came to stay at Tallis House, we instantly knew this was the perfect place for him. We cannot recommend this home enough, everything they have done for our dad has been amazing. All the staff are fantastic and they genuinely love our dad. We are so lucky to have this home and

I cannot thank all the wonderful staff at Tallis house during these very difficult times. They have done a wonderful job of keeping all our relatives safe. Even when we were not able to visit we were kept well informed of what was going on by email and phone. They have now set up a visiting rota which
is so well organised and keeps everyone in the home safe. My mum was suffering from very sore lips and the staff informed us and got her lips swabbed and they have organised here an appt at PAH, we were kept well informed and they have organised transport and for me to travel with mum. Can't thank them enough.
Before Covid-19 whenever I came to I found mum so well looked after, I feel the staff know her so well.

My mum has been at Tallis House for nearly 4 years and is very happy and settled there.
I really have nothing but praise for the staff at Tallis House. My mum has had a bad stroke but can speak, if only with simple words. When I ask her if she is happy and how are the staff, she says 'they are very
kind'. If there are any issues with my mum - she is feeling unwell, the doctor has been in to see her etc, the staff always keep me informed.
When I visit Tallis House to see my mum, the staff are friendly and welcoming and that makes all the difference.
During this CoVid-19 pandemic, the staff have worked tirelessly to ensure that all the residents are safe and well and we, as family, could not ask for anything more.
I am so grateful to the staff at Tallis House for taking such great care of my mum as well as all the other residents. Thank you all.

My mother has been a resident for three years and has always been treated with dignity and respect during that time. She reached her one-hundredth birthday last year and celebrated in style. Even though she has dementia, little vision and is hard of hearing, she maintains her sense of humour and joins
in as much as possible. She is very happy most of the time, and the staff love her like their own. We are very happy with her care.

My mum has dementia and has been a resident from August 2017. When we viewed this home we knew this was the one for Mum; welcoming, caring, friendly, homely, clean and professional. The staff and in the home is like an extended family who is always approachable and supportive. I would highly recommend

The staff in this care home are amazing. I was really worried when my dad had to go into a care home. After meeting all the staff I was put at ease, the staff treat my dad as a family member. Even my dad said how happy he is there and that he couldn’t ask for better staff. They all deserve a medal for
the way they have dealt with the pressure during this covid-19. They have always been upbeat even though you can see it’s taking a toll on them all.
My only complaint I have is about the food, I think there should be more of a variety.
But all in all, I’m very happy with Tallis House.
Many thanks to all the staff and some members go above and beyond.

Very impressed with the overall standard of Tallis House. My uncle was well cared for during his stay. He was treated with dignity and was involved in lots of activities. It was always very clean and the whole building is nice and light. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Tallis House provides a secure caring environment for their residents. Families are kept informed of any medical concerns the carers may have. They encourage residents to join in with activities. Visitors are able to socialise with the relative/friends in the pleasant cafe which is well run and clean.
The clerical and office staff are always helpful and efficient.

My father has been here for about 3 years. During that time, he was looked after very well. Carers were very kind and he was treated with dignity. Someone was always on hand if I wanted to know about dad and I was kept informed if he was ill or had had a fall. I could not fault the care that my father

My mum was in Tallis House for almost 3 years. She was very poorly when she went in and a couple of times after that and their care and nourishment brought her back each time to better health. In her final illness, she was cared for with care respect and dignity. We are truly grateful for all they did
for her and cannot thank them enough.

My father was in Tallis House for almost three years, he suffered from dementia. All the staff were very caring and patient with him. Sadly he passed away in November. My mum was at Tallis House for a couple of weeks after leaving hospital. Overall I was very happy with the care she received from all staff, who were also very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotless and we particularly liked the coffee lounge (nice touch), however, we were glad she was able to

My ethos in my role is that with great teamwork, we can achieve anything for our residents and their families, and all our staff members contribute to the success of our home. Our residents are at the centre of everything we do at Tallis House.

My name is Joanne. I am one of the Deputy Managers at Tallis House, where I have been proudly working since 2016. I thoroughly enjoy being part of a great team, supporting my colleagues in their day-to-day duties, and providing high-quality care to our wonderful residents.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as Level 3 qualifications in End of Life Care and Dementia Care. I bring a positive energy to my work, complemented by a great sense of humour and a love for laughter.


Outside of work, I enjoy unwinding with TV series, swimming, attending live music events, and spending quality time with my family.

My name is Grace, and I am one of the Deputy Managers at Tallis House. I began my journey with Runwood in 2017, returned in 2023, and have been proud to work here ever since. I love working with a fantastic team, improving the quality of life for our residents, and embracing the fact that every day brings something new and exciting.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as an Access to Nursing and Midwifery Diploma. A fun fact about me is my obsession with sausage dogs—they’re my absolute favourite!


In my spare time, I enjoy watching crime documentaries, going ghost hunting, and spending quality time with my family.
