Sherrell House is a purpose built modern friendly care home located in Chigwell Essex offering skilled professionals for a wide range of personal and nursing needs.

The home has two specialist dementia units as well as a nursing unit. All beds have en-suite facilities and are decorated to a high standard. The simple design and layout of the building provides wide corridors with good lighting. Lounges, dining rooms and quiet rooms are located around the home, with communal rooms on each floor, close to the bedrooms, so residents can choose how and to spend their day.

In addition to this, the home has a hair salon where you can enjoy being pampered and a cinema area should you want to watch a film. Wi-Fi is available throughout the building enabling contact with families and friends from afar to be maintained.

The resident chef prepares tasty home-cooked meals each day which are served in the three dining areas. Each meal is designed to suit individual food preferences and cultures and uses fresh ingredients.

The aim is to create a homely atmosphere and quality care services where people are treated with respect and dignity. A home from home where the resident and their families can relax, secure in the knowledge that their loved ones are safe.

My mother is getting good care from trained staff. We are pleased with her progress since coming into Sherrell House. The one thing which could improve her happiness is to have more interactions with the other residents.

My dad moved into Sherrell House a few months ago. He has been cared for very well and is now looking younger than when he arrived. He took a little while to settle in to this new stage of his life, but was given encouragement by all members of the team, who were most welcoming. He is now very happily
involved in the life of the home, liking all members of the team and pretty well every aspect of the community he is now part of. The family are all very positive about the home and the way he is looked after.

My nan currently resides in Sherrell House and I cannot be more happy with the care they give my nan. The staff are amazing and I know she is getting the best care. It is such a wonderful feeling to know she is being looked after. The activities they arrange for the residents are so good and I know

Excellent facility. Recently refurbished throughout. Residents are kept busy with lots of entertainment and are generally well looked after. Food is of good quality and refreshments/snacks served regularly. No reason for any complaint. Staff are friendly and very caring.

Absolutely incredible service. Have had experience with a few different homes in the area, and this stands out above the rest by far! The staff are friendly and warm and always happy to have a quick chat about how things are going, showing care and respect when talking about my grandma.

My mother has been in this care home for around seven years, and we have been satisfied with the way they have attended to her needs. We have always got on very well with the staff, and any problems are quickly rectified. We would recommend this care home to anyone looking for a placement.

My mother settled in well, and I was amazed at how quickly she adapted to her new home. I believe this is due to the excellent support of the staff. She has become more social, enjoying spending time in the lounge and the varied activities, and I have noticed she is now less anxious. She particularly
enjoys the live music and parties, and it's wonderful to see her dancing and having a fun time. I receive full communication regarding her health matters and general updates on how she's doing. I am always welcomed when visiting and have been invited to join some activities, including a Christmas lunch; it's wonderful to see residents enjoying themselves. On my visits, I've observed kindness and reassurance from carers and nurses to the residents and taking the opportunity to engage with them for some fun; the activities staff are enthusiastic and encourage participation. I am reassured and confident my mum is receiving all-round excellent care.

On entering the home and meeting with the manager, I was confident this was the place my wife would be cared for. I cannot praise the management and staff highly enough. Fortunately, my wife is still mobile and has been lucky enough to be taken out on several day trips organised by one particular member
of staff, a lovely young caring person. It is obviously very sad when a loved one has to be looked after by professionals, but I know my wife is in very capable hands.

I have nothing but praise for the level of care I have received at the care home. The 24-hour medical care provided is first-class and reliable, with doctor support if necessary.
The staff that work here are extremely professional and helpful and provide a friendly and supportive service throughout.

The standard of accommodation and food is also excellent. The rooms are cleaned daily, and the food is plentiful, nutritious and cooked on-site.

Fantastic new manager who genuinely cares about the residents and the home. Great team of staff, always friendly and helpful. My mother-in-law is very happy and well cared for, which is great peace of mind. Lots of new activities going on, which she loves being involved in. Highly recommend this care

Excellent manager who really cares about the residents and their needs. She has made such a great difference since taking over and is very approachable. Mum has been a resident for over four years and loves living here. The home is always clean and fresh. The staff are very friendly and helpful and
have given me lots of support over the years. From the reception staff, maintenance man, and nurses to care staff, there is always somebody there to help with any queries. They have a great management team who are truly dedicated. The activity staff are brilliant, and the residents love joining in with these sessions, especially the singing.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2026

I am a qualified nurse and midwife with additional qualifications in psychiatric and community nursing, giving me a broad and well-rounded clinical background. Before working in elderly care, I gained extensive experience in Intensive Care, specialising in cardiac care, and I also hold a qualification in nutrition management, which supports a holistic approach to residents’ health and well-being.


Caring for older people is something I am deeply passionate about. Every resident has a life story that deserves to be respected and honoured, and I strongly believe they should always be treated with kindness, dignity, compassion, and the highest standard of care.


I chose to join the Sherrell House team because of its strong reputation for delivering high-quality, person-centred care and the commitment shown by its compassionate and dedicated team.


Outside of work, music has always been a big part of my life. I used to play both the piano and saxophone, and although it has been a while, my love of music remains. I also enjoy cooking and like to think I can occasionally channel my inner Michelin-star chef!
