Excelcare Sherrell House

First-class nursing care for my mum with dementia. Really friendly and chatty staff. Fresh, modern and light appearance. All excellent.

We had heard that this was an excellent home, and it truly is.

I am an ex-relative member of a resident, and my opinion about Sherrell House is that it is the best nursing home in the area. They've got an amazing care-plus nursing team along with the management team. All of them are brilliant; they are five stars.

Fantastic new manager who genuinely cares about the residents and the home. Great team of staff, always friendly and helpful. My mother-in-law is very happy and well cared for, which is great peace of mind. Lots of new activities going on, which she loves being involved in. Highly recommend this care home.

Excellent manager who really cares about the residents and their needs. She has made such a great difference since taking over and is very approachable. Mum has been a resident for over four years and loves living here. The home is always clean and fresh. The staff are very friendly and helpful and have given me lots of support over the years. From the reception staff, maintenance man, and nurses to care staff, there is always somebody there to help with any queries. They have a great management team who are truly dedicated. The activity staff are brilliant, and the residents love joining in with these sessions, especially the singing.

The care provided for my mother in her last difficult months was exemplary. Every member of staff at Sherrell House has been amazing. This has made a very tough time much easier and gave Mum her dignity right to the very end. Wonderful people providing the best of care, real care. Thank you.

My wife has been a resident of Sherrell House for a year now, and I couldn’t wish for a better care home for her. Sherrell House is a wonderful, caring home, and the care my wife receives is 5-star. The rooms are comfortable and very clean, and the food is excellent. I am very happy with Sherrell House and all the staff who take such fantastic care of my wife.

Since my friend has been a resident at Sherrell House, he has settled very well and has been treated with respect and excellent care by the care home staff. As he is blind, this is very important.

I have my brother and my sister-in-law in Sherrell House. The assistance I had for making this possible was outstanding. To be able to visit both at the same time/place is such an advantage for me, and them. I cannot fault the care my brother has had. Carers have been superb in looking after him. They have been respectful, kind and gentle and helped him to settle in well.

Fantastic staff, the man united of staff, the care, dignity, compassion, and they communicate with all parties is to be commended. I feel safe in the knowledge that my mother-in-law is getting the best care possible.

My mother is always happy; she enjoys time spent with staff and has a good laugh. The staff are caring, kind and easily approachable, very friendly. Any issues I have had, I have been able to resolve easily with the unit manager, who always takes the time and the effort to respond to my queries. Lately, she was so reassuring and made me understand and feel comfortable by explaining the reasons for my mum’s determination. She made me feel relaxed and comfortable by explaining everything that has been done so far and the plan she had in case all that was not enough. I could not wish for a better place for my mum to spend her last years.

My aunt has been a resident at Sherrell House for just over three years now. The care she has received during that time has been excellent, and the team of staff are caring and committed. I can’t thank them enough for taking such good care of my aunt, especially during the months when visiting was either not possible or very restricted. It is always a pleasure to chat with the team when I visit or if I have to phone with any questions.

My mum needed respite care, and Sherrell House was recommended by her current home carers. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and very professional. I was very impressed by their adherence to the Covid protocols and felt Mum would be completely safe and happy there. Each member of staff that I met seemed genuinely interested in Mum's needs, and nothing was too much for them. When I picked her up at the end of her stay, she said that she didn't want to leave.

Beautiful place and atmosphere. The staff strike the balance between being professional but caring. The management is very, very reassuring and takes the lead. The care staff are very dedicated, and they have helped Mum so much.

This care home is an excellent home for loved ones. The staff give 110% care and go beyond and above their duties. I could not wish for a better place for my dear mother. Its cleanliness is excellent, and the staff work tirelessly to give their residents the best care. The staff on the 2nd floor are angels and always take time to answer any questions about their residents.

All staff so caring and informative. They are always available to ask questions and answer. The home is kept spotlessly clean, and the reception is like a hotel reception.

I am very happy here. The staff are extremely helpful and caring. Facilities are extremely good. Cleanliness is very good. Also, there are always some activities available morning and afternoon, and on occasion we have entertainment.

Friendly as soon as I entered the home. Receptionist made us feel very welcome. We visit our friend every month and he always seems happy and all care staff are friendly.
