A wonderful, warm welcome greeted our young at heart, nearly ninety-three-year-old mum recently. Hempstalls Hall Care Home gives us peace of mind knowing Mum is in a safe, comfortable and caring environment. The management and staff genuinely are a happy team of dedicated professionals. Mum is happily
settled and maintains a level of independence with staff on hand to assist her everyday needs. Quality care and quality food. 'There is no place like home', however, circumstances change and Hempstalls Hall Care Home is now Mum's new happy home.

Welcome friendly staff, modern home with good comfortable rooms all being ensuite with shower. Good well-kept gardens, good food with wide choice for breakfast, three-course lunches, with light evening meals.

Since being at Hempstalls Hall is clear that Mum is settled and considers it her home. This is no doubt due to the excellent care she receives from dedicated staff, who, from the outset, have gone out of their way to accommodate Mum's needs. I am settled in the knowledge that her safety is paramount
to the staff, which is demonstrated by contact with myself whenever anything occurs outside the usual. I am pleased with how the staff have been entirely open and honest with me over aspects of care from Mum. The premises are spotlessly clean, and I am impressed with the facilities available to Mum, including meals choice and ample refreshments available throughout the day. One area I will highlight is the daily activities put on by the home and how they ensure Mum is actively engaged. Overall, I feel that staff ensure that the care they provide is centred around Mum and her needs, and I am also regularly touched by how they allow my 92-year-old dad to visit daily and ensure that he remains an active part of Mum's life. Mum never wanted to go into a care home and did take a few weeks to settle. Now she loves it. She is far fitter, happier and is enjoying life more than when she was at home. She is happy with the activities that keep her mind busy and active. She has her own facilities and, even though a fussy eater,
says she enjoys all the food.

Mum was initially reluctant to commit to full-time residency, however, after a period of respite she happily overcame her initial reticence. Mum has now been here for just over two months, she is happy, feels safe and secure and is putting on weight and her mental health is markedly better.

The decision to look at residential care for Mum was a very difficult one. However, after finding Hempstalls Hall Care Home my mind was quickly put at ease.
Hempstalls Hall Care Home is a real home-from-home, the staff and care given are excellent. There are plenty of activities provided and trips
out, including a trip to the theatre. The care received by mum is second to none at Hempstalls Hall Care Home.

We cannot fault Hempstalls Hall Care Home. My mum came in a year ago and has settled so well. She loves all her girls as she calls them and says the food is like a 5 star hotel. The lady on reception is amazing and any query is dealt with efficiently in the office. I have already recommended Hempstalls
Hall Care Home to a friend who needs care for their Mum and Dad. Amazingly well run place.

My dad was no longer coping in his own home. Before Christmas, Dad came initially on respite but has settled in well and is now a permanent resident. He seems settled here and happy.

Our lovely Mum and Dad were beginning to struggle to live in their home due to Dad constantly falling because of Parkinson symptoms and Mum recently diagnosed with dementia. After Dad had a serious fall and a stay in the hospital, it was deemed unsafe for him to return home and we had to find some respite
care urgently. We contacted Hempstalls Hall, as my brother lives close. Once we had explained everything they agreed to take both Mum and Dad. They worked miracles in getting all the paperwork and assessments done and adjourning rooms made ready. Within 2 days Mum and Dad had moved in and to say it has been wonderful would be an understatement. Their rooms are spotless, modern and have a fabulous view over the gardens. The staff treat Mum and Dad with such love, kindness and happiness. Dad has even taken up residence in the office every morning for a chat with the management! They have flourished since moving in and we would absolutely recommend Hempstalls Hall to anyone. Fabulous!

Having some reservations about care homes, I can honestly say that Hempstalls Hall Care Home is one of the most wonderful, clean, warm, and very inviting all the staff are very attentive to the residents and treat them all as individuals and nothing is too much trouble, if it wasn’t for the fact that
it was a care home I would put it on par to a 4 star hotel, both my parents are staying at Hempstalls and absolutely love it.
The meals are fantastic and my Dad always has seconds.
The home lay on entertainment weekly and also take the residents out in the minibus on outings which goes down very well.
The staff are very caring and always have an ear for a natter.
The manager runs the home with love and care which is in abundance and plain to see by all who visit, and you can see the smiles on the faces of the residents which I think is a glowing testament to all involved with Hempstalls Hall

Mum entered Hempstalls Hall in an emergency situation due to the illness of her husband who was her main carer. Mum has dementia and what was an extremely difficult time was made so much easier by the exceptional and outstanding care and support Mum received, which was also extended to us as a family.
Mum is now a permanent resident and we cannot fault anything about the home. She is settled and benefiting from the wide variety of activities available even despite Covid restrictions. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hempstalls Hall.

My father arrived at Hempstalls Hall after a short stay in hospital.
The care and attention provided by staff towards my father has been exemplary. Nothing is too much trouble.
Every effort has been made during these difficult Covid times to meet my father’s needs and staff are always willing to
help, especially with communication and are on hand at all times.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Hempstalls Hall.

My father was admitted to this care home in early June with a number of complex issues. The care provided by the nursing team, care assistants and administration staff has been exceptional. We as a family also feel well supported at what has been a very difficult time for us. Communication between ourselves
and the home has been excellent.
I would certainly recommend Hempstalls Hall to anyone looking for a care home.

The home is clean, airy and well-appointed. Mum has a room facing an open grassed courtyard. Mum entered the home over a year after the death of our father, as she was not looking after herself despite having carers three times a day, she obviously needed constant supervision.
All staff are concerned
about the residents and make sure they are included in all activities. This really helped mum as she was withdrawn and isolated when living alone. Mum is now involved in many activities and enjoys her time at the home. She has also put on weight and looks better. As a family, we now know that she is taking the medications she should, whereas at home she said she was, but wasn't.
Pre-Covid, we were free to see mum any time and I am sure this will be the case in future. Covid has meant changes, the home has ensured all lockdown rules were followed and whilst sometimes it is a hassle to go through all the tests etc before seeing mum, we know she is kept safe as the home follow the rules.

My mother has resided at Hempstalls Hall Care Home from March 2020 until February 22nd 2021. Throughout this very difficult Coronavirus lockdown period, she has been very well looked after by the most caring and professional staff.
As a result, mum has put on weight, she rarely scratches at her face
and hair which she did before coming to Hempstalls and she has enjoyed the calm, caring sanctuary of this care home. Unfortunately, due to covid-related restrictions mum was not able to take part in social, community based entertainment with other residents but she did enjoy having her hair done on a regular basis. Mum was very happy at Hempstalls.
The reception staff were very helpful it was a pleasure to speak to each of them, knowing that they would ensure that we could speak to mum on the telephone and see her on Skype via a laptop without any fuss. Management staff were also friendly, professional and helpful. We are so sorry that mum no longer resides at this remarkable care home.

Lisa Bailey

Job Title: Manager Joined: 2010

I joined Hempstalls hall 14 years ago when it opened in 2010 from the day Hempstalls Hall opened I have been proud to be part of the team. I am currently Home Manager at Hempstalls which is running the home and ensuring any queries and concerns are dealt with.


Having worked at Hempstalls for 14 years I have many things which I enjoy about my job such as having a helpful, caring, and compassionate team. Hempstalls is a friendly and welcoming environment.


When I’m not at work hobbies some of my favourite things to do are spend time with family and friends, take my dog on long walks, and go out for meals and cocktails.


I also love going on holiday and I am aiming to travel the world.


I would best describe myself as a happy and caring person who enjoys looking after people. I am always very organised and like to have a plan in place for any tasks which may lie ahead. I’m able to remain calm and positive in any situation which may arise. As part of being the deputy manager, I like empowering staff in the job which they are in. I have worked my way from Senior carer then Team Leader, Deputy Manager and now to Home Manger these roles have enabled me to gain a lot of experience and knowledge in the care sector which I use daily in my role as a Manager.

I have worked here at Hempstalls Hall for the past 14 years which is since Hempstalls Hall opened. Previously I worked at another nursing home as a care assistant, and then onto became a senior. When I joined Hempstalls Hall I started as a senior and then I worked my way up to a team leader. I enjoy being a team leader and I’m always on hand if anyone needs any assistance.


I like to spend my time doing a varied range of activities when I'm not at work I like to go shopping and spend time with family and I enjoy travelling the world and making memories.


I think that as a team leader, there are many qualities that you need to have so that people feel that you are approachable, and I feel like I bring a range of these qualities to my job such as being a good team player, listening to people’s issues and concerns.


I would best describe myself as a caring and compassionate person who is willing to put my mind to anything I like working both independently and as part of a team I think that this is important in my role as a team leader.

I work at Hempstalls Hall and my role is Deputy Home Manager. I previously worked here from 2010 to 2017 as a wellbeing coordinator followed by senior care assistant. I have also worked in admin role at Hempstalls since July 2023. I have a wide range of skills and knowledge in different departments, and this shows through my work.


I have many qualities which I show while doing my role as an administrator such as being organised, good team player as well as working independently, being Professional, and being reliable for any task I am given. I also think that my communication is very good with other departments and when dealing with outside agencies.
I would best describe myself as a trustworthy, hardworking individual who is always on hand if anyone needs me for support or advice. Something which I enjoy a lot is being able to meet so many different people through my area of work. I enjoy working as an administrator because it is a job which enables me to use a range of skills and knowledge which Is useful in my job.


In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family, watching movies and reading books. My favourite movie genre is horror, and my favourite author is Stephen King.

I joined Hempstalls Hall 10 years ago. Before becoming an activity coordinator at Hempstalls Hall I used to be a pastoral visitor for a local church and before that, I was a hairdresser for 7 years. I have always enjoyed being able to help others and give back to the community. I have always enjoyed being able to provide the residents of Hempstalls Hall with the best range of activities to help enable people to carry on living their lives to their full potential and help keep people active.


I would describe myself as hard-working, caring and empathetic. With any job I do I always make sure that I give it my all and that every activity which I provide here a Hempstalls is person-centred around all residents and that the activities provided are aimed at individuals with all different needs and abilities.


Working at Hempstalls there are a lot of aspects of my job which I enjoy however some of my favourites is taking the residents out and enjoying time with residents doing the activities which me and colleagues’ plan. There is a wide range of activities that are offered here at Hempstalls Hall always something to suit everyone.


When I am not at work in my free time, I like to go walking and am actively involved with my local church as church life is very important to me, I help in Sunday school and I’m on the prayer team. I also like to participate in dancing activities and going on holidays I like to take part in a wide range of activities because I like socialising with other people.

Alison Pellington

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2022

I have been working at Hempstalls for the past 18 months and I am head chef here. I enjoy cooking and I enjoy being able to cook food for people and hearing people's feedback as people’s opinions of my food are important I take any feedback seriously and will adapt my menus and foods to people’s tastes.


I would describe myself as a funny and outgoing person who is willing to try anything. I always ensure that I give my all to any tasks which I carry out. I am a reliable team player and I like working alongside my team in the kitchen. I like working in the kitchen and I bring a bubbly atmosphere to the work environment.


I think that I bring many qualities to my job I have a good bubbly personality which helps to create a nice working environment for me and the other staff with I work with. I have good leadership skills, and in my role, this is important because been the head chef I need to be able to organise, delegate and lead.


Been a member of the Hempstalls time I enjoy being head chef, but what I enjoy most is being part of a good strong team which are always there and supportive in any situation. When I first started at Hempstalls I enjoyed the training that was provided because it was very informative and helped me to broaden my knowledge.


Although I enjoy my work when I’m not at work I like going on holiday with my friend and family and going out for meals.

Job Title: Receptionist Joined: 2022

I have worked at Hempstalls for 2 years when I started, I was a care assistant but for the past 9 months, I have changed roles and am now a receptionist. Although I enjoyed being a care assistant, I enjoy being a receptionist as it’s a job which has provided me with new challenges and enjoy being able to have the opportunity to experience these.


As a receptionist, I feel I am able to bring many qualities to this role such as having an open mind and being able to listen to people when they initially make contact with the home I am able to help them with any queries or questions they may have and if I am unable to do this I can direct them to the best person who will be able to help.


I would best describe myself as a fun, outgoing person who is always on hand to help others and I feel that I am very good at working both independently and as a team. I enjoy being part of the team at Hempstalls because everyone is helpful and pulls together to work as a team.
I enjoy my job as a receptionist but when I am at home I like to spend time with my family and go out for meals and cocktails with family and friends. I also enjoy short breaks away and shopping.
