I was very concerned about my wife, who has dementia and had suffered from a broken hip, settling into a new environment after being in hospital for ten weeks. She very quickly settled and before long Oak Lodge became her home. The staff, from reception, carers, catering staff and nurses have always been very caring, attentive, efficient and friendly, not only to my wife but to me as well. They always greet me by name. If they have any concerns they phone. I feel more relaxed because I know my wife is being well looked after and is happy. Thanks to everyone.

It's lovely to know that you feel reassured that your Wife is safe and well looked after. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything more we can do.
Mum has been at Oak Lodge Care Home for 3 years and has been well looked after from day 1. She always looks clean and tidy whenever we visit. I would highly recommend this care home for anyone looking for a home for a friend or relative.

Oak Lodge has been amazing with my dad. The team are amazing, always treating my dad with dignity and respect, my dad has choices in every situation. Catering can be questionable at times but cater for everyone. My only criticism is there could be more interacting activities for the more able like my dad.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. It's wonderful to know that you feel your loved one has been well cared for- that's exactly what we strive for. We will discuss your feedback with the home's manager to help them continually improve their service.
Mum is well looked after, always so clean. Any questions I have are acted upon very quickly by all carers and especially the nurses.

I found the room my husband is in to be clean and fresh every time I visit, he is also well looked after, also I did have a walk around all the floors and rooms, were in good order and very clean. The carers all are polite and do their best for the residents. It is also good that the amount of activities that they have through the years indoor, and outside when weather permitting.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. It's lovely to know that you found the surroundings here pleasant and well maintained- we want our residents to feel at home from the moment they arrive. We are proud to have such a compassionate team and we're glad this has shone though in your experience. Your feedback will help us to keep improving the quality of care that we provide.
I feel it would be beneficial if people suffering from dementia of the same level was situated on one floor this would give people the comfort of companionship similar to a care provider. Activities could be organised for the more able bodied patients. If the floors of the home was better organised changing staff, by putting them on different floors to work has a huge impact on people with dementia. Familiar faces are so important to the patient. I have raised this with the manager of the home.
Thank you for your comments. We will share this feedback with the home manager.

My mother has been at Oak Lodge for four and a half years and has been looked after so well by all the staff and nothing is missed or too much trouble. My mother has enjoyed all the activities on offer over the years and her one hundred and third birthday party was amazing, having the local MP and the Mayor as guests, thanks so much.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Mother in our care. It is lovely to hear that the Mayor attended your mother's 103rd birthday. We hope to continue providing your Mother with the best possible care.
The staff and management are a first class team. They are always very happy to see you happy. To speak to you about anything you want to know about my sister, who is a resident at the home. I don't think that you would find a better home than Oak Lodge. Once again, I say the home staff and management are all first class, and I can't say a bigger thank you to them. Well done, everybody, you really are a great team. Well done.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your sister in our care. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care. Thank you again for your Kind words.
My mum has been in the care home for 6 months now. She can't communicate but staff take time and try hard to understand her needs, speaking with family and working with mum as best they can. The staff here are very kind and friendly and want the best for mum, trying different techniques to encourage her to eat. There is a variety of food on offer and activities provided are varied, fun and engaging, there is something on each day. Staff have listened about the activities my mum used to enjoy, to include in future planning. The building itself is clean, rooms are cleaned daily. The building is safe using door codes and has a friendly receptionist.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always wonderful to hear words like "Kind" and "Friendly" being used to describe our staff and we are pleased to hear that you are impressed with the variety of food and activities provided. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.

Meet the Team (2)

I am the home manager at Oak Lodge. I have worked for Bupa for 9 years and at Oak Lodge for 6 years.
I came to the care sector in 2010 after deciding on a career change. I had spent the previous 9 years managing a live music venue in Camden Town, London, before volunteering and travelling through South America for a year with my now wife. I started in the care sector as a support worker, supporting young adults with disabilities to maintain independence and engage in society. I worked hard and advanced my career, becoming a service manager in the sector before moving into care homes in 2016, with my first role at Bupa as a general manager of a multi-site complex in Essex. In 2019, I made the move back down to the beautiful New Forest, where I grew up and took the role of home manager at Oak Lodge care home, where I have happily remained since.
At Bupa, I am supported by the wider business and colleagues to be able to ensure the best outcomes for the residents who trust us with their care and wellbeing needs. The team here are a wonderful, kind and caring bunch, and I feel privileged to work alongside them.
I am married and have 2 young daughters, and I live in the beautiful New Forest. Outside of my role at Bupa, I am an advanced Wim Hof Method Instructor and run workshops for people to come and safely learn the method and the science behind the benefits. I am passionate about supporting people with their Mental Health challenges, and I am a trained Mental Health First Aider.

I joined the team at Oak Lodge in 2016. I previously spent over 23 years working for the Department of Work and Pensions as an admin officer. After taking voluntary redundancy, I thought my experience would be a good fit for this role.
I enjoy supporting our residents and their loved ones and answering any questions they have, working as part of a great team that cares for our residents and the endless supply of home-made cakes and biscuits!
I live locally and I am married with one son. I enjoy films, comedies, quizzing and gaming with my son.
