Very happy with care received for mum. Staff patient and accommodating. Mum always clean and today. Home always spotless. Mum can be difficult at times but staff do make the effort to involve her with activities, although not always successful.

My dad was taken in on 29th January and passed away on Friday 15th March all the while been well looked after and cared for by their excellent staff. As well as looking after Dad they also cared and showed consideration to me, my sister and Mum even sending flowers to Mum on Dad’s passing.

Excellent home made us feel welcome and at home.

I was very impressed with the housekeeper when my mum returned to her room after a leak. All her personal possessions had been placed within easy reach for her which was so kind as my mother cannot move around easily, it really touched me as it just shows that things do not go unnoticed.

I arrived to find my husband sitting at the table where the tea party was in full swing. The table was beautifully laid with part napkins, beakers and plates. The food was delicious and appropriate jam tarts, finger sandwiches and orange squash. The chef has made a gorgeous red jam heart-shaped tart. There was a "drink me" bottle and an "eat me cake". The carers and entertainment staff were engaged with the residents. My husband was very alert and enjoyed it.

Unfortunately, I don't get to see my aunt often, but when I do, she always looks very clean and well-presented. She always appears to be happy in her secure and very comfortable surroundings, and she thoroughly enjoys doing all the different activities with her fellow residents. Oak Lodge is the 3rd nursing home my aunt has been in during the last 18 months. She has found her forever home. Everything from the way she is respected and cared for, the cleanliness of the home, the food and entertainment provided, as well as how we, as relatives, are welcomed and encouraged to join is absolutely wonderful. Couldn't recommend enough.

Corin RidoutJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2016

I am the home manager at Oak Lodge. I have worked for Bupa for 9 years and at Oak Lodge for 6 years.

I came to the care sector in 2010 after deciding on a career change. I had spent the previous 9 years managing a live music venue in Camden Town, London, before volunteering and travelling through South America for a year with my now wife. I started in the care sector as a support worker, supporting young adults with disabilities to maintain independence and engage in society. I worked hard and advanced my career, becoming a service manager in the sector before moving into care homes in 2016, with my first role at Bupa as a general manager of a multi-site complex in Essex. In 2019, I made the move back down to the beautiful New Forest, where I grew up and took the role of home manager at Oak Lodge care home, where I have happily remained since.

At Bupa, I am supported by the wider business and colleagues to be able to ensure the best outcomes for the residents who trust us with their care and wellbeing needs. The team here are a wonderful, kind and caring bunch, and I feel privileged to work alongside them.

I am married and have 2 young daughters, and I live in the beautiful New Forest. Outside of my role at Bupa, I am an advanced Wim Hof Method Instructor and run workshops for people to come and safely learn the method and the science behind the benefits. I am passionate about supporting people with their Mental Health challenges, and I am a trained Mental Health First Aider.

I joined the team at Oak Lodge in 2016. I previously spent over 23 years working for the Department of Work and Pensions as an admin officer. After taking voluntary redundancy, I thought my experience would be a good fit for this role.

I enjoy supporting our residents and their loved ones and answering any questions they have, working as part of a great team that cares for our residents and the endless supply of home-made cakes and biscuits!

I live locally and I am married with one son. I enjoy films, comedies, quizzing and gaming with my son.
