Absolutely lovely staff.
Super nice, clean place, and Mum loves her room and everything about the home
I cannot speak highly of how well Mum is looking since she moved in.
Thank you for your kindness to the team.
Thank you for taking the time to review South Lodge Care Home in Leicester and for your amazing 5-star rating. We are delighted to hear that your Mum has soon settled into the loving care community that we create and loves her room. We encourage new residents to bring in personal items to make them...
From the outset, the team have supported Mum to transition successfully into the home. Since being in South Lodge, she has been warmly and consistently supported, and she evidently feels secure. As a family, we very much appreciate the clear lines of communication, keeping us updated with Mum’s successes and any needs identified. When we visit, we always feel welcomed and encouraged by how well the team know Mum and that they are so caring towards her.
Thank you for taking the time to review South Lodge Care Home in Leicester. We understand that moving a loved one into care can be an overwhelming experience for all parties, and therefore, we offer our full support in ensuring this process is smooth and stress-free. We are delighted to hear that...
What has stood out for me is how the residents have ‘free flow’ to everything. The different rooms, lounge, library, restaurant, garden. This all helps to make it a home for everyone.
I think the main communal area is very well thought out. Different areas to sit, the coffee bar, the large crossword board and the activity board make for a lovely social area for residents.
My dad has dementia and Alzheimer’s, so he gets very confused and needs instructions repeated. He wasn’t aware of the light switch on the wall by his bed until I showed him on his third day. I think a bedside table lamp would be better.
All in all, a lovely place.
We welcome all feedback, and we will certainly take on board your comments regarding the lamp; I have arranged to have one in his room, and if he visits again, we will ensure he has this in place. Best wishes.
Our dad has just recently gone into this cafe home, and we can’t fault the staff or the carers. The home is beautiful, and our dad's room has been made so homely and inviting for him. We are so happy with the whole atmosphere of this home and are so grateful to all the lovely carers and all the staff who are taking care of our dad. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

From the first telephone call to South Lodge Care Home to now, we could not be happier or more grateful for the absolute care, support and professionalism that we have received from all of the staff and carers. Through what has been a difficult and worrying time of moving our precious dad to a care home, we have been fully supported as a family. Our dad has settled very quickly and tells us that the staff there are all angels without wings! The ethos and whole feeling of South Lodge are welcoming and respectful to its residents. This provides us with massive reassurance that our dad is safe and well cared for and that he has a beautiful home where he can reach his full potential and continue his amazing life with grace, care, fun and happiness. Thank you all very much.

Really impressed by South Lodge. All staff were amazing and very caring. We've tried hard to find fault, but can't! The only thing to mention is perhaps communication between seniors and carers could be better and between shifts. My father-in-law was very happy for the few weeks he was there - he was terminally ill and couldn't have been in a better place. We knew he was being looked after, and it was a great help to us - we knew he was safe.
Mum had Vascular Dementia and an underlying Cancer diagnosis. She was living at home alone with carers twice a day when she took a sudden downward turn meaning I had to make a rapid decision for her safety to move her into care.
From the moment I met the team at South Lodge, I knew it was the right place for my mum. Each and every one of the team showed a level of care, compassion and professionalism throughout her short three-week stay. Her condition continued to deteriorate, despite the best care, but the team adapted their approach daily to adapt to her continual changing needs, nothing was too much trouble.
I will forever be grateful to everyone at South Lodge for helping us through a very difficult time for myself and my family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete this review of South Lodge Care Home. Your kind words are gratefully received, and I will ensure to pass this on to the rest of the team. Although your mum was only with us for a short time, your mum is sadly missed by us all. I hope you will still...
Seriously cannot recommend the folks at South Lodge enough or think of words to do justice to what they achieve. Absolutely above and beyond expectations every step of the way, and do anything to accommodate the needs of their residents. There isn’t a nice care home around, and there aren’t staff that work as hard as these guys anywhere else. All my fears of my grandmother going into care were put aside within 5-minutes of talking to them.
Thank you for taking the time to review South Lodge Care Home and for your amazing 5-star review. Your kind words about our home and the staff team are truly invaluable to us, we are so pleased to hear how satisfied you are with the exceptional level of care your grandmother is receiving, giving...
Very kind, caring and attentive staff. Exactly what I needed and expected. My room was lovely, and I also have access to the beautiful well kept quiet gardens.
Thank you for taking the time to review South Lodge Care Home. We are delighted to hear how satisfied you are with your new home and how well you have settled in. It is a true pleasure to have you as part of our loving, care community. Best wishes.
Mum had been becoming increasingly confused and frail and spent time in hospital. We realised that she needed more care than my sister or I could provide and she needed more company and activities. South Lodge supported us initially with respite care and we were so delighted with their care and attention that we have now made this permanent. She is in a lovely ground floor room with a small patio outside and she is very happy. She looks so much more relaxed and content that we are delighted. We are managing to see her regularly through the home’s careful Covid procedures. Thank you so much for your warmth and care.
Thank you very much for taking the time to review South Lodge Care Home and for your kind words. I could not be happier that your mother has settled right in to South Lodge, and really has become very quickly a popular member of our community. She is an absolute joy to be around, and we are so...
Very grateful to South Lodge for providing the best care to my mum who went there for respite. The care provided was excellent and dignified. Mum was extremely happy. She said she wants to stay permanently. Carers, chef, staff everyone looked after her and gave her love and respect. Mum told me the home is like a five-star hotel. Chef was very kind and cooked dishes to her requirements. She had all the praises for the care she received. She left the world on a very happy soul. Rest in peace.
Thank you for taking the time to review South Lodge Care Home. It was a true pleasure to care for your mother and to have her stay here at South Lodge for her respite stay, and she is greatly missed by all those who were lucky enough to get to know her. The staff at South Lodge are so friendly and caring. My mum has settled so quickly and seems to like everyone there. They cannot do enough for the residents and family and are always very helpful. I am so pleased we found this home.
I cannot thank them enough for the care they are giving my mum.

My mum has been at South Lodge for the past six weeks after a spell in hospital. Without exception, the staff have been caring, considerate and respectful of my mum's needs and wishes. They have done all they can to help her settle in these difficult times. As I have not been allowed to enter her room and sort her belongings, I have to rely on the staff to do this for me, I feel that they have taken my place, I am very grateful to them all. I have managed to see Mum a number of times during a room visit, although it's not the same as being able to visit in her own home, it's a good compromise. Your customer services manager has been exceptionally good, easy to talk to, and nothing is too much trouble for her. Thank you once again to all your staff.

I cannot speak highly enough of South Lodge Care Home. My mum moved here three weeks ago after a stay in the hospital, and the staff have all gone above and beyond to help her settle in. Nothing is ever to much trouble for any staff members, and any query I have whatever time of day is always dealt with quickly and efficiently. I had my first window visit with Mum today, which was so special, Mum looked immaculately dressed and had freshly washed, hair and for the first time in ages, she had a sparkle in her eyes. I was feeling a little emotional today, as it is my birthday, and the first one I have not spent with Mum, the staff made it extra special with the gorgeous video they sent me of Mum singing Happy Birthday with a little help; it has truly made my birthday, thank you all for this extra special Birthday gift; it means the world.
Thank you for taking the time to review South Lodge Care Home and for your lovely feedback. I am so pleased that your mother has quickly settled into the loving community that we create. Our highly trained staff go over and above the standards to ensure every resident is made welcome, it is a...
Staff at the home have been extremely helpful and kind in helping my aunt settle into the care home. They made the process of transfer from another care home where she had been for respite as simple and smooth as possible. When problems arose, they quickly sorted them, which necessitated my aunt moving rooms. She has nothing but praise for all the staff, and they seem to have adapted to her needs very well. Nothing is too much trouble for them. As we can't visit inside the home, I can't comment on all areas.
Thank you for taking the time to review South Lodge Care Home and for your kind words. Our staff team ensure to go above and beyond to provide the highest care for all our residents, whether that be for those in short respite care or for our long term residents. We are delighted to hear that your Aunt felt safe and comfortable. Best wishes.
The facilities and staff at South Lodge are very good indeed. My father is nearly 90 and has advanced Parkinson's disease. He has been at South Lodge for 7 years and has been very well cared for. I would recommend it to anyone who could afford it.
Hi Bob, thank you for reviewing South Lodge Care Home. Our staff team will be delighted to hear such kind words. I will ensure to pass on the message. Best wishes.
My relative has been at South Lodge for several years. It was chosen because of the high standard of accommodation, closely matching the flat my relative had to leave. The staff who look after my relative have been kind, attentive and caring with a very good knowledge of the medical and personal needs. The senior staff are exceptional, their work ethic has impressed me. They always inform me of any issues or problems as they occur, these have been dealt with in a timely, professional manner with the discussion if necessary. The management are very approachable and the reception and maintenance staff are friendly. Should I have another relative requiring care I look no further than South Lodge.
It was an absolute pleasure to read your review, thank you. We do aim to provide a home from home environment here at South Lodge, so it is lovely to hear that we are achieving this for your relative. Getting to know our residents is important to the whole team. I am sure that I speak on behalf of all of our team when I say that it is lovely to have your relative as part of our family.
My Aunt was treated with the utmost care and dignity by the truly wonderful staff on her floor. I cannot begin to thank them enough for everything they did. Please give them all a pay rise.
Thank you for your lovely message. Your aunt was absolutely one in a million. We all here at South Lodge feel privileged to have been able to care for her. She was a unique and wonderful lady, we all miss her dearly.
Both my parents have been residents since January 2020 - initially as respite and then full time. They and the family are very happy with the standard of care and the facilities at the home. Obviously, things are a bit different from normal with COVID restrictions and I know that trips out and the facility to visit will be very different I hope soon, but within the regulations, the staff have been as flexible as possible. I would like to extend a thank you to all the staff who have been truly marvelous with my parents' needs - very kind and welcoming to my sister and myself.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I can honestly say it is an absolute pleasure to have your mum and dad here, they really are an absolute joy. We have particularly enjoyed recently sharing birthday and anniversary celebrations with them. We are looking forward to being able to safely welcome visitors back into the home.
I have stayed at respite homes in the past but none were as good as this home. I was treated like a queen and nothing was too much trouble the staff were polite and friendly and I felt like I was at home and not in a home. The range of activities were perfect and kept my mind active and the food (especially the breakfast) was lovely. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again should the need arise. The room and areas were very clean at all times and the care given was very good. My washing was collected and returned within 24 hours and was fully ironed. I would strongly recommend this home as a positive place to stay.
It was an absolute joy having you here with us. We endeavour to ensure all of our residents receive the highest quality care and environment. We are certainly looking forward to welcoming you back to South Lodge.
