The attitude is friendly and welcoming and I feel comfortable with my mum's care. I like the activities that are offered and that everyone is encouraged to join in
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your Mum in our care and we hope you all feel like a part of our Sunnyview House family. We hope to continue providing her with the best possible care and we look forward to seeing you again soon.
I think Sunnyview House is a good care home overall, they provide a good quality of different activities (although sometimes I do think my grandma would be mortified if she knew what she was doing! Luckily she doesn't) and seems overall happy to participate when guided to take part. The staff are amazing on her floor, very cheerful, polite and do listen when problems have arisen and done their best to rectify them straight away. We have had a couple of issues with self-care (showering, brushing teeth) these seem to be okay at the moment.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your comments. We are pleased to hear that you are overall impressed with the high standards of care provided at Sunnyview House Care Home. It is lovely to hear that your Grandma is happy to participate in our wide range of activities and is enjoying...
My Mum is a resident at Sunnyview Care Home and has been for the past 4 years. She is very happy at the home and the staff are very attentive towards Mum. The staff are always polite and know all our family by our names and always say good morning and goodbye each time we go visit Mum.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We hope you all feel like part of our Sunnyview House family. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
I went to Sunnyview House Care Home to visit a friend residing there. I was warmly greeted at reception and taken to my friend's room. I needed to use the restroom and was promptly shown the way. My friend's room was lovely with neutral decor and spotlessly clean. I could instantly sense it was a place of fun and involvement for the residents. My friend certainly seems to be settled and content in her new surroundings.
Thank you for your lovely words. We are really pleased to hear our staff have been so kind and accommodating of you, and it's always reassuring to know that your friend is in such a positive and caring environment. We are looking forward to seeing you again soon.
Lovely place. All the residents are well cared for. Food looks lovely. The carers are lovely and very helpful. All disabilities are catered for. Lots of things for the residents to do throughout the day.

My aunty is thriving since she has been staying at Sunnyview. She's always been extremely social so being here is really stimulating for her. The staff are also superb with her. There's always plenty of events for her to keep her entertained and involved.

Sunnyview has a welcoming atmosphere, it feels homely and the staff add value to the home with their friendly nature. Communal areas are modern, looked after and clean, I feel happy knowing my relative is looked after here.

Overall most staff are very pleasant and helpful can't do enough for my dad, some need to learn how to keep the kitchen tidy, very messy if I were a manager they need to learn how to keep it tidy. The room needs decorating and wardrobe is very shabby, walls need painting, especially the amount of money paid to Bupa.
and is very happy. The Carnegie staff are so lovely, caring and kind. The Bupa festival was fantastic where all our family could get together and really enjoy the day. The activity ladies are amazing.

All the staff that I come into contact with are very friendly and are happy to help at any time. They are helpful in accommodating family events here like birthday parties etc. They are doing more activities within the home as well.

We have found all staff to be friendly and welcoming, we have witnessed Dad and other residents to be treated with respect and dignity.
Dad has always been clean, tidy and well-presented so have his room and the shared spaces.
We have witnessed staff spending time with residents and there have been activities every day for dad to be included in.
Food and hygiene have been of a high standard and food and drinks have been offered regularly. Myself and my sisters have been able to visit without restriction and spend time with him in his room, in communal areas and take him out of the home.
Our overall experience has been excellent and hope Dad will be able to stay here for respite again.

Mum sadly passed away last month; I would like to thank all the staff in the Carnegie ward for their care, compassion and attention to her, especially in her last days. They made Mum feel as if she was at home and it was a great comfort to all the family knowing she was so well looked after. Thank you all so much, we appreciate everything you did for her.

My grandma is a current resident at Sunnyview House Care Home and we could not wish for her to be in better hands. The staff here are amazing, so caring and genuine and fantastic at their jobs. Nothing is too much trouble and when we go and visit we always come away knowing that she is being cared for. Thank you to all the staff at Sunnyview, you do an amazing job!

My brother has resided at Sunnyview House since March 2021. My first impression of the home was from the outside and entrance hall as it was lockdown for COVID. The manager and staff member I met on arrival were very nice, welcoming and caring on accepting my brother and making him feel welcome. Communication was by telephone at that time and staff members were great in giving updated info. Visiting was allowed at that time through glass partitions and staff were at hand for any questions or help. All management and staff were very helpful and cared for my brother very well during that difficult time. As the months have passed the care and communication could be seen as I was entering the first floor. Lovely surroundings, rooms and all the care given has been great from cleaning, cooking, caring staff and managment. I feel my brother has and is well cared for and would recommend Sunnyview House to anyone looking for long or short care stay.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. We are so pleased to hear that during such a challenging time you felt the care of your brother was to such a high standard and that this has since been upheld too. Thank you for choosing Sunnyview House.
Fantastic home, fantastic staff, lots of parking. Lovely gardens and surroundings, lots of entertainment, also lots of things to do. Fantastic food, all staff are very friendly, the management have always been excellent with any problems that crop up.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased to hear such high praise given to not only just our staff, but to our home's entertainment, food and facilities. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your loved one's stay as comfortable as possible.
I was present at the home on the Jubilee party day. This was a very special extremal. All of the staff put 110 per cent into this day. Lots of nice food, drink and entertainment for residents and guests. As I am a regular visitor, I think they exceeded all expectations. They are very kind and friendly at all times and they really care about the residents and visitors. They always act on any problem immediately.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are so glad that you enjoyed our Jubilee celebrations; it was a great day for staff, residents and families alike. Thank you again for taking the time to give us this feedback.

I am an experienced adult social care leader with over 10 years of experience managing residential, dementia, nursing, and supported living services. Throughout my career, I have held a number of senior leadership roles, including Operations Director, Regional Manager, Registered Manager, and Home Manager.
I have a strong track record of successfully turning around underperforming services, improving CQC compliance, increasing occupancy, strengthening governance, and developing high-performing teams. My expertise includes operational leadership, quality improvement, safeguarding, workforce management, and service transformation.
I hold a master's degree from the University of Huddersfield, as well as a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care. I am passionate about delivering outstanding care, developing future leaders, and driving continuous improvement across health and social care services to achieve the best possible outcomes for those we support.

I graduated from the University of Leeds with a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing 15 years ago. For most of my career, I have worked within the NHS, primarily on assessment units and in the Emergency Department at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI), a major trauma centre.
These roles provided me with a wealth of experience caring for people with a wide range of complex health needs in fast-paced and challenging environments.
In 2025, I joined Bupa and began a new chapter in my career. I am passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and supporting residents to live fulfilling and meaningful lives.

I have worked at Bupa since 2024 and have been a registered nurse since 2010.
Prior to working at Bupa, I worked in the NHS for 20 years, from a staff nurse, to a sister, then a ward manager before deciding to pursue my career in the private sector.
I am from Barnsley and a doggy mum to my miniature dachshund, Mabel. I enjoy long walks with Mabel, socialising with friends and family and shopping.
