At Sunnyview House, care plans are carefully tailored to provide a high standard of individualised care in a warm and welcoming setting. Residential, nursing and dementia care is available for short or long term requirements.

This purpose-built home offers spacious and comfortable accommodation within pleasant surroundings. All bedrooms are tastefully furnished and have ensuite facilities, while premium bedrooms allow a larger living space with their own front door and garden. Residents have access to a range of facilities such as a cinema and bar, sweet shop, café, a wellness/physiotherapy suite and the internet. Visitors can be welcomed into the homes own social 'hub' areas where refreshments are available.

A delicious menu is provided by the homes experienced chef, who ensures all meals are tailored to individual tastes and requirements. Residents can also enjoy out of hours snacks and drinks from the Bupa Night Bite menu.

An active and social lifestyle is strongly encouraged at Sunnyview and friends and family are always welcome to join in the fun.

My husband has lived at Sunnyview now since February he has settled in so well
and is very happy. The Carnegie staff are so lovely, caring and kind. The Bupa festival was fantastic where all our family could get together and really enjoy the day. The activity ladies are amazing.

All the staff that I come into contact with are very friendly and are happy to help at any time. They are helpful in accommodating family events here like birthday parties etc. They are doing more activities within the home as well.

Our dad who has advanced dementia is currently in respite for 10 days at Sunny View Care Home as our mum has gone on holiday.
We have found all staff to be friendly and welcoming, we have witnessed Dad and other residents to be treated with respect and dignity.
Dad has always been clean, tidy and
well-presented so have his room and the shared spaces.
We have witnessed staff spending time with residents and there have been activities every day for dad to be included in.
Food and hygiene have been of a high standard and food and drinks have been offered regularly. Myself and my sisters have been able to visit without restriction and spend time with him in his room, in communal areas and take him out of the home.
Our overall experience has been excellent and hope Dad will be able to stay here for respite again.

I was recommended Sunnyview by a friend whose mum was a resident there. When I phoned up staff were very informative and when I visited everyone was very friendly and helpful. Thankfully, there was a bed available for my mum the next day. They welcomed Mum and kept popping into her room and kept telling
her to buzz if she needed anything. I cannot fault the staff and the care they’re giving my mum.

Mum sadly passed away last month; I would like to thank all the staff in the Carnegie ward for their care, compassion and attention to her, especially in her last days. My grandma is a current resident at Sunnyview House Care Home and we could not wish for her to be in better hands. The staff here are amazing, so caring and genuine and fantastic at their jobs. Nothing is too much trouble and when we go and visit we always come away knowing that she is being cared for.

My brother has resided at Sunnyview House since March 2021. My first impression of the home was from the outside and entrance hall as it was lockdown for COVID. The manager and staff member I met on arrival were very nice, welcoming and caring on accepting my brother and making him feel welcome. Communication
was by telephone at that time and staff members were great in giving updated info. Visiting was allowed at that time through glass partitions and staff were at hand for any questions or help. All management and staff were very helpful and cared for my brother very well during that difficult time. As the months have passed the care and communication could be seen as I was entering the first floor. Lovely surroundings, rooms and all the care given has been great from cleaning, cooking, caring staff and managment. I feel my brother has and is well cared for and would recommend Sunnyview House to anyone looking for long or short care stay.

Fantastic home, fantastic staff, lots of parking. Lovely gardens and surroundings, lots of entertainment, also lots of things to do. Fantastic food, all staff are very friendly, the management have always been excellent with any problems that crop up.

I was present at the home on the Jubilee party day. This was a very special extremal. All of the staff put 110 per cent into this day. Lots of nice food, drink and entertainment for residents and guests. As I am a regular visitor, I think they exceeded all expectations. They are very kind and friendly
at all times and they really care about the residents and visitors. They always act on any problem immediately.

Times have been difficult due to Covid restrictions and my mother's difficulty in understanding the impact. The whole staff team have constantly shown a high level of professionalism and care, and also retained their sense of humour and engagement, which is important.

Before my father moved to Sunnyview House in October 20201, several people I know told me what an excellent care home it is, and they were absolutely right. The facilities are very good, and the manager and staff are all extremely kind, helpful and supportive. They are doing a wonderful job looking
after my dad, who has dementia, and they have also been enormously helpful and supportive to me. It is a huge comfort knowing Dad is safe and well cared for at Sunnyview House. I would highly recommend Sunnyview House.

Many individual members of staff at Sunnyview are caring and lovely people, however, a few are not, and just do a job. The management left a lot to be desired. Hundreds of cigarette butts outside the front door, the common kitchen area unclean and untidy, and the whole place generally lacking in organisation.
Although my mother had a room with an external door she was never allowed to open it unless someone was present.
My sister and I visited my mother every day of the week except Saturdays.
My mother was cared for to a fairly reasonable standard but nothing like I expected or I felt she required for this level of care home. Her clothes constantly went missing in the wash, the bed linen was not particularly clean, quilts and pillows of a very poor standard and tatty. I was not impressed with the standard of care and my mother was only there for seven months before she died. I would not recommend this care home.

Kennedy has recently joined the team in his new role as a clinical unit manager which is his first time employment with BUPA.


Kennedy is a registered Nurse who has got experience in most aspects of nursing including midwifery and is an expert in medication management, Infection control, wound care and palliative care among others.


Kennedy loves being a nurse above all else because nothing comes before a human in need and derives satisfaction from ensuring as well as promoting a good quality of life irrespective of the existing limitations.

I have worked at Bupa for 6 years. Prior to this, I worked for the Alzheimer’s Society for 17 years. I love working in the care sector as helping to enrich residents’ lives is so important to me, as providing them with support and fun in their daily lives.


I am a Mum to 4 grown boys and have my beautiful Grandchildren who are my world. My passion is to make people happy and encourage positivity - I always have fun and entertaining ideas! In my spare time, I love to be social, spend time with my family and visit my dad in Spain.
