Couldn’t fault the support offered to my stepfather as part of this transition into the home. Made him feel welcome and has given me the confidence to know he is safe. The home is always clean, and the staff are very friendly. Thank you to the manager and the team.

Times have been difficult due to Covid restrictions and my mother's difficulty in understanding the impact. The whole staff team have constantly shown a high level of professionalism and care, and also retained their sense of humour and engagement, which is important.

We’re so pleased she’s at Sonnyview.

Before my father moved to Sunnyview House in October 20201, several people I know told me what an excellent care home it is, and they were absolutely right. The facilities are very good, and the manager and staff are all extremely kind, helpful and supportive. They are doing a wonderful job looking after my dad, who has dementia, and they have also been enormously helpful and supportive to me. It is a huge comfort knowing Dad is safe and well cared for at Sunnyview House. I would highly recommend Sunnyview House.

Review from Joanna L (Daughter of Resident) published on 18 January 2022 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Many individual members of staff at Sunnyview are caring and lovely people, however, a few are not, and just do a job. The management left a lot to be desired. Hundreds of cigarette butts outside the front door, the common kitchen area unclean and untidy, and the whole place generally lacking in organisation. Although my mother had a room with an external door she was never allowed to open it unless someone was present.
My sister and I visited my mother every day of the week except Saturdays.

My mother was cared for to a fairly reasonable standard but nothing like I expected or I felt she required for this level of care home. Her clothes constantly went missing in the wash, the bed linen was not particularly clean, quilts and pillows of a very poor standard and tatty. I was not impressed with the standard of care and my mother was only there for seven months before she died. I would not recommend this care home.

Mum was admitted to Sunnyview House in November and very sadly passed away on the 20th of December.
I can’t thank the manageress and her staff enough for all the wonderful care that Mum received at that time. They could not have done more for her, and I and the rest of the family can not praise them highly enough. They don’t just care for the resident either, because they seemed to wrap their arms around the whole family whenever we visited and made us so welcome.

The love and care that we all felt the day Mum passed away were second to none; they truly are an amazing team. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

My dad was in Sunnyview House for around two and a half years until he recently passed away in November this year after a series of illnesses. It meant so much for Dad and for our family to have the staff support us in such a caring way. Over the past year as Dad became more frail, the staff have become like family to us, and they did everything they could to make his last days as comfortable as possible,e going over and above to support us all. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did.

Sunnyview House Is such an amazing, friendly, very caring, understanding, accommodating care home. The staff treat everyone like family, they are all close, and all the residents seem very content and at home. They are always arranging very special events for residents and families to come to join in. The manager and staff are so professional, very communicative and accommodating to everyone. They had a Christmas pantomime this week, it was brilliant, the residents loved it. Their attention to detail, in all aspects with our mum, was above and beyond. Also, the facilities are great; they even have a prayer room. I cannot thank them enough for how happy they have made Mum in her last days. Fabulous. We would recommend them to anyone.

Visited my sister, who has recently moved to Sunnyview and has dementia. We were welcomed by friendly staff, who checked our lateral flow results and kitted us out in our Covid protection clothing. We were impressed with the staff's interaction with the residents, and my sister seems very content and well cared for.

My mother is at end of life, and the staff at Sunnyview have been amazing. It is not just the care they provide, it is beyond the professional way in which they deliver it. To see a member of staff kiss my mother before she went on shift and tell her she loved her was moving. This is a team that goes above and beyond to underline we made the right choice picking Sunnyview. Thank you to all of you.

My mum has been at Sunnyview for several years now.
She has been housed on the 1st floor - dementia care and now on the 2nd floor - nursing care, for her advanced early-onset dementia, and I can honestly say the care home staff are amazing!
The level of care and attention they have always shown my mum has been second to none, which now, she is unable to communicate is so important for me to know they are looking after her every need.
The care home is always well kept, and standards are high at Sunnyview.
The menu/food here is varied, and the staff really know what the residents like/don’t like and are great at making nutrition a priority.

Very happy that Mum resides at Sunnyview, and am very grateful to all who look after her.

The staff at Sunnyview House Care Home went above and beyond their care roles to provide my nanna with wonderful, sincere care every day. Along with my two sisters, we chose Sunnyview House for the care of my mum for her latter months of life. Firstly for its proximity to where we live and on strong recommendations. We couldn't have been happier in every department as shown and given my mum the best care shat she thoroughly deserved. Thank you so much.

After multiple traumas (falls, breaks, stroke, blindness, loss of mobility, dementia) Mum was admitted to Sunnyview House. My brother, sister and I could not be happier with everything about this facility. Mum is now at the end of her life. The staff are amazing with her and our family. They are genuinely lovely, caring people - all of them! Even coming in on days off to see Mum knowing she is in her last days. There are no words to express just how wonderful the whole staff are at Sunnyview House. We will be forever grateful.
