At Sunnyview House, care plans are carefully tailored to provide a high standard of individualised care in a warm and welcoming setting. Residential, nursing and dementia care is available for short or long term requirements.

This purpose-built home offers spacious and comfortable accommodation within pleasant surroundings. All bedrooms are tastefully furnished and have ensuite facilities, while premium bedrooms allow a larger living space with their own front door and garden. Residents have access to a range of facilities such as a cinema and bar, sweet shop, café, a wellness/physiotherapy suite and the internet. Visitors can be welcomed into the homes own social 'hub' areas where refreshments are available.

A delicious menu is provided by the homes experienced chef, who ensures all meals are tailored to individual tastes and requirements. Residents can also enjoy out of hours snacks and drinks from the Bupa Night Bite menu.

My experience of Sunny View House initially was excellent, but in the past few months, there have been slight changes in staff i.e moved upstairs or left which to the residents is a little upsetting, the staff have been excellent but the new staff we have yet to get to know.

My mother-in-law has recently moved down from Scotland to be nearer to us as her Alzheimers progresses.
Due to her condition, she has been very confused most mornings and suffers from sundown Syndrome.
They have been wonderfully supportive at all times. Everyone looks after her from the chef, maintenance
man, housekeeper, carer, nurse, unit manager, receptionist etc.

Staff are lovely. They treat residents with care and respect and dignity and look and act professionally. They are always available to talk to.


My mother and other residents love walking. It would be lovely to have a long, winding path from the back garden area to the front - cutting through all

the hedges with benches along the way and a larger patio area in the middle.

Every time I go to visit I cannot believe the true luxury of the place eg. its clean fresh smell, the friendly staff - nothing seems to be too much trouble to them. I wish, when my time comes, to be looked after in this home - I hope I am one of the lucky ones.

My Grandma is a resident on the Harewood unit and has dementia. The carers at Sunnyview House do an amazing job with the resources they have. They always keep us updated with my grandmother's care plan and nothing is too much trouble.
However, I feel that the unit is very understaffed. The dementia
residents can be very demanding and the staff just do not have the time to spend quality, one on one time with the residents, which I feel they would benefit from.
There are not enough activities on the dementia unit for the residents. The lower floor of the home has daily activities but these don't always seem to be accessible to the residents on the dementia floor. It almost feels that they are forgotten slightly. I know my grandma would benefit from more stimulating activities.
I have also noticed that since the home was taken over by Bupa, the food menu has deteriorated. This needs reviewing.

The overall standard of this care home is excellent. We have however noticed that the list of activities posted in the lift really only applies to the ground floor (residential users). My mum is on the 1st floor which is for dementia residents. We feel that these residents should be entitled to the
same entertainment programme as they need stimulating. They are very short staffed on Harewood and Chester and the carers are not able to give as much attention to the residents as they would like to be able to.
A lot of the time the residents are just sat in front of the tv in the living room as the poor staff are run ragged assisting with feeding, bathing etc. My father was in this same care home in 2011 when the home was with the previous care provider. The standard was much better and the staffing levels were much higher. We have also noticed that the meals are very similar every day. My mum just wants to sleep all the time as she has nobody to interact with, we all work full time.

We are very pleased with Sunnyview House Care Home. It is a well-managed care and nursing home.
The staff and management provide excellent care and dignity.
I am always greeted on my visits by helpful and smiling staff. Nothing appears too much trouble to the staff. However, I think they could
do with more staff for the demands that are placed upon them.
I also have to say that I did have some reservations when a change of ownership to BUPA was first aired, but my fears have proved groundless, as the transition in my eyes, has been a seamless operation. This is a credit to the professionalism to all members of Sunnyview House Care Home and the BUPA transition team.

When you walk through the door, the home resembles a 5 star hotel, beautiful decor, immaculately maintained with professional and welcoming staff.


My Mum has settled really well into her new home and this is a testament to the standard of the home environment and the care and friendliness of the

staff. They are a credit to the care profession and have made a real difference to my Mums quality of life whilst suffering from a challenging condition.


I would recommend the home to anyone needing a high-quality service, the home environment and the attitudes of the care staff set the bar for how all Dementia care should be.

Very pleased so far with the care my mum has been receiving since moving into the care home 6 weeks ago. Sunnyview has a lovely atmosphere and all the staff are very caring and really seem to enjoy their work. Visiting is always a pleasant experience and I have no concerns when leaving my mum.

Kennedy has recently joined the team in his new role as a clinical unit manager which is his first time employment with BUPA.


Kennedy is a registered Nurse who has got experience in most aspects of nursing including midwifery and is an expert in medication management, Infection control, wound care and palliative care among others.


Kennedy loves being a nurse above all else because nothing comes before a human in need and derives satisfaction from ensuring as well as promoting a good quality of life irrespective of the existing limitations.
