This has been a very difficult year since the covid virus took hold. I am pleased that no one at Astbury Mere actually became ill, due to the virus, protected by the measures put in place. However, these measures to dementia patients were particularly good. We have noticed a vast change in my brother, which has been hard to see, and I am in no doubt that other residents have suffered likewise. I am, however, very grateful to the staff who have worked very hard to help my brother and others, and I know that care will continue in the more recent lockdown.

My husband spent two weeks in Astbury Mere for respite care. Due to covid restrictions, he had to isolate in his room for the duration of his stay, so was unable to mix with residents or enjoy the activities which would normally be available. However, I was quite happy that he was safe and would receive good care in lovely surroundings. In the future, hopefully, the situation will have improved, and he will be able to enjoy the home to its full extent.

The care at Astbury Mere is excellent. The staff are extremely caring and thoughtful. They are always professional and are constantly striving to do their best for the patient. They understand how hard it is for relatives and offer them reassuring support. The environment is modern, clean and inviting.

I would highly recommend Astbury Mere. It is such a lovely care home with truly amazing staff who are all very attentive and extremely kind. My dad is happy, settled and so well cared for. He has a beautiful room with a wonderful view, superb care, high quality fresh and tasty meals which he thoroughly enjoys.
The staff communicate really well and keep me up to date, nothing is too much trouble for them. The staff all seem to get on with each other really well and there is a great sense of community which my dad has been welcomed into and now feels very much a part of.

Now that my dad can no longer live at home due to his complex care needs I wouldn't want him to be anywhere else other than Astbury Mere, 10* rating from me!

Only at Astbury Mere three weeks. The building is well maintained and private and public rooms are attractively decorated and furnished. As this was my first experience of this type of living, I have found the transition quite hard. However, both management and support team have encouraged my integration with others. Good range of trips out. Menus are varied and tasty.

Overall, this is a fabulous care home where I have been a resident for the past nine months. During this time, I have had many visitors, and without exception, my visitors have said that this is the best care home that they have ever visited. In particular, I would highlight the fact that I have found the staff exceptionally friendly and easy to get on with.

Mum has been nursed here for a year and a half. I have never had to make any kind of complaint. The home seems well-staffed and managed. Mum is looked after with such kindness, high quality of care and respect. As a retired nurse myself, I could not ask for such a lovely end of life care. The staff keep me well informed of changes; big or small. The home is beautifully kept and as a relative, I'm made to feel very welcome whatever time of day.

Mum's move into Astbury Mere Care Home has been handled carefully, professionally and sympathetically. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and put her at ease the moment we arrived. It is a bright, clean and beautifully decorated home. Mum is delighted with her room and the view across the garden and nearby road. She enjoys the variety of spaces in the home allowing her the company of others, craft activities, or a quiet moment of peace as she wishes.

Mum improved once a resident at Astbury Mere.
She no longer needed her legs dressing as they healed. Her diabetes was improved and insulin reduced to x1 daily! She was very happy whilst at Astbury Mere.

All the care staff were amazing and very helpful.

My wife has only recently come to live at Astbury Mere but right from the start, the professionalism and courteous of the staff was obvious.

It is also apparent that there are good staff relations at all levels. They all work well as a team.

The best care home we have used. Staff cannot do enough to help and put you at ease. All the residents seem very happy and well looked after. Lots going on in the day. The garden is amazing and very peaceful. It is so nice to have a place where I can trust the staff completely with my husband's care. A truly wonderful place. Thank you very much.

When my close friend arrived at Astbury Mere, he was terminally ill and the care he received was brilliant and he was cared for with dignity and the staff always smiling and kind. His pain management made life as comfortable as possible until the end. I will always be grateful for this. Unfortunately, my friend was unable to benefit from any of the activities because of his situation. The program was full every day and even trips out on the minibus. I would recommend Astbury Mere to anyone needing care.
