Firstly, the staff were extremely helpful when I was trying to prevent a cycle of repeated discharge and readmission to the hospital. A manager kindly visited my relative in the hospital to assess her needs and arranged for her discharge to Broadway Halls. I am over 200 miles away and so this was really going the extra mile.

I had not seen the home when my relative was admitted and relied upon reviews. A person connected with the Telecare system, however, remarked to me quite spontaneously about the quality and care that the home provides. The home is spotlessly clean, and the rooms and corridors are light, airy and spacious. The dining room and menu look very inviting and even if this doesn't suit, there was every effort made to accommodate preferences and requirements. There is also a huge programme of activities for each day of the week. The staff are very friendly and kind, I thoroughly recommend them.

Dad was a resident at Broadway Halls Care Home for a short while from February 2023 to May 2023. We were extremely happy with the care and service he received. Unfortunately, he was in and out of the hospital but we did get him back to Broadway Halls to end his days. When he passed, the staff were so kind and considerate and dealt with his death so sympathetically.

The home is a beautiful place, and the staff are very kind and caring. Seeing my aunt happy is all I could ask for. The home has a lovely atmosphere, and the staff are very approachable if there is anything that needs arranging, with great food and the activities make sure everyone is catered for. The cycle race past the home was brilliant and what the team did that day for the resident and the whole community was something to be very proud of. I would highly recommend this home. Thank you, Broadway Halls, for all that you do.

Today was Commonwealth cycling which past the care home. As we walked by, the members of staff made such an effort to entertain the locals and their residents. The sun was shining, and they had music for all to enjoy, dancing and keeping everyone smiling. It created such a lovely atmosphere, and it was such a special and beautiful effort by workers from the care home.

We found Broadway Halls extremely pleasant and very welcoming. Staff could not do enough to help us and make my husband comfortable. The one and only criticism we had is my husband was not invited to join in activities on lower floors, and he found it lonely on the floor he was on. This, I think, was due to the lack of patients on his floor. Otherwise, we have sung the praises and recommended Broadway House to all our friends and family.

My mom has been here for nearly three years. I can honestly say she has really been so well cared for; she is a different person since she came; she was practically bedridden but now walks about, talks to people, and loves her food and the carers. We are so grateful and happy she is here. A big thank you for looking after all her needs so well; you are doing a marvellous job, she is always clean, well looked after and very happy; her room is always lovely. A big thank you to you all.

Looks beautiful like a hotel but unfortunately, we had an awful experience with respite for my dad who has mid/late-stage Alzheimers disease. Went through all of the care planning when we visited and needs were made clear. The manager had no issues with what was discussed, including assistance with walking, needing to be fed/watered, barrier creams etc. Dad came home dehydrated, unshaven, anxious, prescription creams unopened, lost weight and had a fall while he was there (despite them being told he needed support walking at all times) and we have no idea if his multiple medications have been administered as nothing was returned. When we collected him at 11:30 he hadn't been got out of bed and had no breakfast. Despite asking repeatedly, no one was able to give us a copy of fluid charts or care records from when he was there. We still to this day have no idea what he did/ate/drank /medicine while there or if participated in anything (we were unable to visit due to Covid).

My husband has had two respite stays in Broadway Hall both of which I have been very satisfied with. As well as being an amputee he has dementia so cannot tell me what he has done, but the staff who are really caring assure me that he is comfortable eats well and takes part in suitable activities. If I need respite again I would definitely use Broadway Halls.

Disappointed. Mom has worn strong-lens spectacles since childhood but she was returned to me with none on. I had to ask where they were and was told they were lost. We had a few visits at home presenting several pairs none of which were hers. Ultimately I feel someone should have noticed she had none on and called me to apologise and ask if I had a spare pair. Mom has dementia, imagine her confusion at not being able to see properly in a strange place! Poor service and consideration I feel.

Having had ongoing problems with my nan's last care home and being very unhappy with my nan's wellbeing, I took the rash decision to move her. It was a massive risk at the age of 101, but I'm so glad I took that risk. All of the staff, even the maintenance man, are so friendly, and management is very approachable. From the moment you walk in, you are treated like family. My nan has been in Broadway for 2 months now, and she is so much brighter and alert and she seems and looks very happy and content. The staff on the nursing unit are really lovely girls and so loving towards my nan, it gives me great peace of mind she is being looked after like she deserves, and now I really look forward to visiting her. It is what every care home should be, and il be forever grateful for them looking after my nan.

My friend has recently moved into this care home because she needed more specific care. She is extremely happy there, describing it as amazing. She has said how kind the staff are and how well they look after her. She also said how they check on her all the time, including at night which she likes as she’s not left alone. It is so nice to hear my friend is so happy and receiving the right treatment. I would like to thank everyone at the care home for their commitment to excellent care.

Nicholas DrinkwaterJob Title:General ManagerJoined: 2025

I joined the Barchester family in July 2025, after spending over two decades devoting my life to the compassionate care of individuals living within Dementia, Nursing and Residential care homes and the NHS. I am a trained Nurse by background.

I cared for my gentle dad who developed dementia, and I truly believe that unless you have had personal experience of such heartache, no one can really understand both the sad and happy times during such a journey. Dementia does not define a person, and every person’s journey is different.

Throughout my 20-year career, I have worked in numerous settings, from small family-run homes to large-scale care companies, consistently advocating for person-centred care. Within this, I regularly emphasise tailored and meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation, physical health, and emotional well-being, with family and friends at the heart. I also served abroad in the armed forces as a nurse.

As I look to the future, I remain committed to my vision of care homes as vibrant communities where everyone can live meaningful, fulfilling lives. I will continue to inspire new generations of caregivers, ensuring that my legacy of compassion and excellence will endure for years to come. I have an unwavering belief in the human spirit’s capacity to thrive — no matter what the circumstances.

I am looking forward to welcoming people to Broadway Halls to experience the stunning care and environment that we have to offer.

I previously worked at Broadway Halls from 2014 and left to develop my skills in a fine dining restaurant in Birmingham. I was pleased to re-join the team in November 2024 - I missed the people, the Residents and the homely culture that comes with working in care.

I have worked in hospitality since I left school and I am passionate about the dishes I create and serve. My signature dish is chicken and spinach pasta, tossed in a creamy sauce.
