I would like to thank all the staff at Broadway Halls and congratulate them on the way they have cared for my father these past 12 months, but especially during the 'lockdown'. I know my father's wishes have been listened to and his changing circumstances constantly re-evaluated to ensure he has the best opportunities to thrive. As a family, our enquiries are always responded to. The home has a real 'family' atmosphere and standards of hygiene are excellent. Perhaps the best way of expressing my recommendation is to say that if I had to go and live in a care home, then this would be the one I would choose for myself.... but not just yet!
Thank you for your wonderful feedback it means so much to me and all the team to hear you feel your Father is well cared for. Reading your comments is reassurance that we are achieving what we set out to do every day for our residents.
My mum went to Broadway Halls for respite just before Christmas and she was so well looked after. We as a family, made the decision to make the move permanent and the care and support she receives are outstanding. The knowledge that she is safe and happy during this difficult time brings us, as a family, peace. I can’t express my gratitude enough to the team.
Thank you for your lovely comments about Broadway Halls and the care Mum receives here. I will pass on your comments to all of our team.
Just wanted to say thank you for the end of life care received by my mom during February and March 2020. The care she received from the nurses on floor two was excellent. They were always available and treated mom with care and compassion. The care mom received from the care staff was excellent. Admin, managerial and maintenance staff were compassionate to my family and myself, even though it was a very difficult time at the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak. I would recommend Broadway Halls as I don't think they could have provided anything more for mom or her family during this difficult time. Thank you all.
Thank you for your kind review of Broadway Halls at what we know is a very sad time for all the family. We are pleased that we were able to offer the care your mother required and to hear you find us 'overall excellent' and that you'd recommend our home to others is a compliment in itself. I will...
I fully endorse the comments my brother made in an earlier review. The care and compassion shown to my dad and to his wife, sons and daughter-in-law in my dad's final days - and before, when he was a resident - helped make the saddest of situations bearable. Thank you so much to everyone involved in Dad's care and in showing such thoughtfulness and kindness to us all.
Thank you for your kind words, as ever we value all our residents and families.
My dad passed away today in Broadway Halls and I have to say that the whole staff were absolutely superb; professional, friendly, supportive and responsive. They were all fantastically accommodating and sympathetic and made my dad’s last days comfortable and dignified. They were also massively supportive towards my mum, as well as my brother and myself. They are faultless, this is a very high-class operation, not just extremely good on the outside but similarly on the inside. Could not recommend more highly.
Thank you for your lovely review of Broadway Halls at what we know is a very sad time for all the family - I will ensure all of our team are aware of your kind words. Thank you for allowing us to look after Dad and to be able to get to know you all.
Security a bit lax at times.
Dead flowers always left unless visitors do the job.
Thank you for your review, we're pleased to hear you find us 'overall excellent' and that you'd recommend our home to others. We have receptionists on duty all day including evenings and weekends as well as team on each floor 24 hours a day. Doors are locked after hours, and visitors who leave...
The entertainment team make this home special - they are fabulous! The carers are dedicated to their task but, the turnover is high so as soon as we get used to someone, they leave. The food is of high quality and varied. The onsite hairdressing facility is good and convenient. Some sentimental items have gone missing from Mum's room, which is upsetting but, I prefer open door policy and freedom to roam.
Thank you for your review, it's great to hear your positive comments about our Magic Moments Club team, food and hairdressing. We always operate at safe staffing levels with experienced care team on each shift alongside newer recruits to maintain consistency. Residents on our dementia floor are...
The staff are excellent. The stimulation/entertainment is second to none and the entertainment manager is excellent.
Thank you for your positive comments about our home, it is great to hear you find our team to be 'excellent' and our activity programme to be 'second to none'. I see you feel there is an area for improvement, please do pop in for a chat with our Home Manager on your next visit or come along to our...
I have had two previous family members who have been cared for here and when my Nan could no longer live alone, this was the only place I knew she would be happy. The services and staff are exceptional. My Nan is a very sociable person and the activities and trips fulfil all of her social needs. I would not hesitate to recommend Broadway Halls to anyone.
2. Activities are good. Frequent days out aids elderly social calendar. Helps with mental health and social wellbeing.
Myself and my family are happy and very pleased with the service, the staff and the home in all aspects.
Excellent care and facilities. My mom loves it here. Staff very helpful and friendly and keep me informed of her progress. Varied activities and food menus are very good. Four-star hotel.
My mother passed away aged 90 after a really fabulous 2 and a half year stay at Broadway Halls. Staff were very responsive to my mother's changing needs over that period. A friendly and busy environment which both my mother and I, as a visitor, really appreciated. Lovely facilities, hospitality, activities and food.
Overall, very pleased with the care my mom receives. There are many activities and social events should she wish to participate and a real effort seems to be made to cater for everyone. The atmosphere in the home is bright and cheerful, never dreary and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
The staff on floor one are really lovely. The care and support offered from them is excellent. Activities are varied and extremely good - all staff are friendly and welcoming.
Continue to care for my mum with respect and dignity. Being very sociable, she enjoys the large amount of entertainment provided and the constant company of the other residents and staff.
During her time here the care that she has needed has increased from residential to nursing. At each stage, the care has been exceptional.
Overall Mum receives excellent care at Broadway Halls. She is included in the activities which are varied. All of the staff are very kind and caring and she is treated with dignity. She has started to put weight on which is healthier for her as her weight was a concern when she came to Broadway Halls. Mum interacts well with the staff and they can always get a smile from her.
Very happy with the way Mother-in-law is looked after. The carers are all fantastic and treat everyone with professionalism and care. We have nothing but praise for Broadway Halls staff and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to arrange for family members to stay here.
The location - a modern facility a short distance from the town centre with lovely large window views of Priory Park and castle and a sunny patio to enjoy too. Give it a visit.

Meet the Team (10)

I joined the Barchester family in July 2025, after spending over two decades devoting my life to the compassionate care of individuals living within Dementia, Nursing and Residential care homes and the NHS. I am a trained Nurse by background.
I cared for my gentle dad who developed dementia, and I truly believe that unless you have had personal experience of such heartache, no one can really understand both the sad and happy times during such a journey. Dementia does not define a person, and every person’s journey is different.
Throughout my 20-year career, I have worked in numerous settings, from small family-run homes to large-scale care companies, consistently advocating for person-centred care. Within this, I regularly emphasise tailored and meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation, physical health, and emotional well-being, with family and friends at the heart. I also served abroad in the armed forces as a nurse.
As I look to the future, I remain committed to my vision of care homes as vibrant communities where everyone can live meaningful, fulfilling lives. I will continue to inspire new generations of caregivers, ensuring that my legacy of compassion and excellence will endure for years to come. I have an unwavering belief in the human spirit’s capacity to thrive — no matter what the circumstances.
I am looking forward to welcoming people to Broadway Halls to experience the stunning care and environment that we have to offer.

Rino is our Clinical Deputy Manager; she provides hands-on clinical leadership, ensuring care is delivered in line with best practice, regulatory standards, and Barchester values. Rino supports audits, clinical governance, and staff mentoring, while maintaining a clear focus on residents' safety, dignity, and quality of life.

I am thrilled to be Administrator at Broadway Halls, having joined the wonderful team here in early 2023. I have worked in administration for many years, including HR elements, and this is the first care home I have worked in. I love the variety in the role, meeting our residents and their families and supporting the process to them moving in to our home. I also support fellow team members. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, watching tennis and spending time with my family.

I have worked in care since 2013, and I absolutely love supporting people. I enjoy helping our residents, their families and my fellow team members when I can. I also support people and their families who are choosing a care home, answering any questions they may have and showing them our lovely home. It's a pleasure being part of the Broadway Halls team!

I joined the Broadway Halls team in 2020 as a Carer and was promoted to Team Leader and then Dementia Champion during my time on the Care team. I then moved over to the Administration Team in June 2025. Before working at Broadway Halls, I previously worked in mental health in challenging environments. I love my job as I get to interact with our residents every day, and now also get to welcome people to Broadway Halls and be one of the first faces they see when they visit us. I can't imagine working anywhere else!

I'm Jennifer, and I am the Dementia Lead at Broadway Halls. I support our 3 Dementia Champions who are all part of our Memory Lane Community. I have worked in care since 2005 and started in 2018 at Broadway Halls. I am passionate about ensuring every Resident on Memory Lane receives quality care, with a person-centred approach, in an enriching environment.

I started at Broadway Halls as a Kitchen Assistant and, through training and determination, I have worked my way up to the position of Head Chef, which I am incredibly proud of. Working in a care home as a chef, I have to think more about the eating needs and dietary requirements of the residents. There are various textures of food, special diets, diabetics, vegetarians, and so much more. It can be challenging, but I love it and have an amazing team to work with!

Hi, I'm Chris, the Sous Chef here at Broadway Halls.
I previously worked at Broadway Halls from 2014 and left to develop my skills in a fine dining restaurant in Birmingham. I was pleased to re-join the team in November 2024 - I missed the people, the Residents and the homely culture that comes with working in care.
I have worked in hospitality since I left school and I am passionate about the dishes I create and serve. My signature dish is chicken and spinach pasta, tossed in a creamy sauce.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and walking my dog. Aston Villa is my team, and when they are not playing, I enjoy following horse racing, and when the time allows, a day at the races is always welcome!

Steve joined the team as a permanent member in August 2025, having previously supported the home on a bank basis. During this time, Steve consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for residents, visitors, and staff.

Justyna is a dedicated and compassionate Lead Activities Coordinator in Broadway who is passionate about enhancing the well-being and quality of life of residents through meaningful, engaging and person-centred activities.
She began her journey with Barchester as a Care Assistant before progressing to Activities Assistant and then Lead Activities Coordinator.
Justyna enjoys building positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues and takes pride in creating a warm, supportive and enjoyable environment where residents can thrive.
