Fantastic morning spent with my wonderful mother and her friends making lanterns etc. for Chinese New Year celebrations. Really great facilitation by the staff. Excellent choice of activity for dexterity and focus as well as good fun to do. At the same time, this created conversation and awareness of cultural celebrations.

A good and welcoming environment. The staff need to work a little harder to encourage mum-in-law to get up and dressed. She is difficult to motivate we know this. But all in all, it's positive.

Overall a positive experience. I did request that mum was up before we visited but this didn't happen. We were due to arrive at 2 pm and the staff hadn't tried to dress her before that time. However, I am aware my mum can be difficult. Just was a little disappointed on this occasion.

Staff are really engaged and treat my mum as a person rather than a problem.
I think sometimes there is an assumption that family know what to do or tell you, I think when family members come into care that could be better.

Fantastic how you got the doctor in and that my mum now has a pain patch.

Mum has really settled at Ashwoth and is really enjoying the social interaction each day. Her room is very comfortable and Mum is always clean and well dressed. She enjoys the activities and loves having her hair done. There was so much going on at Christmas with lovely decorations and a great festive atmosphere. Can't speak highly enough of the care given to Mum.

A Very welcoming in place for families and residents. Very clean place with no bad odour, always staff around to help with activities to keep the residents stimulated with a timetable for food and the activities for the month. Which I find great for myself to know what my mothers doing from day to day.

Very nice coffee morning, useful to help my mum settle in and get used to the place before we decided to make her a service user. Cakes and hot chocolate are very nice. Enjoy coming down and meeting the staff and other residents.

The staff helped us to organise a party for my father-in-law's 90th birthday, which we held in the café. They decorated the room with balloons and provided us with food, drinks and a birthday cake. As ever, nothing seemed too much trouble for them.

All the staff involved helped to make the day a very special one. They were so kind and genuine in sharing their good wishes with him too.

My first visit - what a lovely experience.
Greeted and offered a drink, as my relative was away at the time, made comfortable.

Staff so friendly - their interaction with the residents is exceptional!

My dad turned 90 yesterday. We had a great family party in the cafe to celebrate. It was the perfect afternoon.
Dad has been at Ashworth for several months.
The care and support he has had from all members of staff has been exceptional in that time.

He was previously placed in an emergency care home, which was very basic and lacking in amenities and staff.

Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at Ashworth Grange

Many happy returns to your dad! We hope he had a great day and that you could all celebrate in style. We are pleased that your dad is now settled at Ashworth Grange.

I moved my mum to Ashworth Grange on a recommendation from a friend as I was unhappy with her care in another home.
The atmosphere is wonderful, it is decorated and furnished well, and it is very homely.
The staff are friendly, kind, respectful and tolerant. The management is the same and also efficient and modern in outlook.

I can now sleep at night!

Overall Experience

Ashworth Grange is a very good care home. One marker of their standards of care is how they handle issues which arise from time to time. All establishments, not just care homes, have issues from time to time which need to be addressed. When I have needed to point out any aspect of my mother’s care which needed addressing, the care home staff and management were efficient and helpful in resolving them. So I would reiterate that care at Ashworth Grange is very good. I would not hesitate to recommend the home to others.

Overall Experience
Very impressed with the focus on care for the residents. A well-presented, clean and warm environment.
The staff are friendly and use residents' names.
Lots of activities to keep residents busy, including trips out.
This home looks to be extremely well-run.

The only area of improvement would be that some of the public area woodwork paint needs refreshing.
