Manorhey is an expertly designed, purpose-built care facility in Urmston which offers residential, nursing and dementia care.

The warm and welcoming home provides a number of communal lounges as well a library, cinema room and dining room. The single occupancy bedrooms come fully furnished and with en-suite wet rooms.

The comprehensive range of care options ensures staff meet the changing needs of residents. This means that it is unlikely that any resident will face an emotional and unsettling move to another care home if their needs change.

The highly skilled staff at Manorhey include qualified nurses and carers, who all work together to maintain the health and well-being of each resident, focusing on the needs of the individual and fully supporting their independence.

Manorhey’s laundry, housekeeping and maintenance staff also maintain the excellent standards of the home. Frequent essential visits to my dad, who is sadly reaching the end of life stage of this cruel illness have been emotionally difficult for my mum and myself. The staff, from the caring and welcoming receptionist to the attentive carers, the friendly cleaning staff and the supportive admin and management
teams have all been brilliant and made our experience a little less harrowing. We are thankful and appreciate them all.

Very happy with the care and attention given to my mum and Manorhey. Everyone is very respectful to mum and help her to be as independent as possible whilst offering help whenever needed. The staff understand that mums dementia can sometimes cause changes in her friendliness, they never take offence
and understand she is always well presented, washed and dressed nicely.

I was unable to complete all the ratings because from the day my father went into the home there was the lockdown. The only downside to the home was not very good communication with my father by telephone, and when I did call it was very noisy in the area where he was able to talk. There was a time
when things were going missing from his room, which was found eventually. It was quite stressful at this time. I never got to see his room to be able to look for items. My father died on 20th January 2021.

Just to say a very big thank you for everything the team do for my mum.
It was just over a year ago that Mum was diagnosed with vascular dementia, at that time Mum was struggling a little with memory but still very active. Mum was still working, she went to church, and she was a frequent visitor to
the bingo with her friends. Then Covid 19 struck and closed down all of Mum's social activities, she was furloughed from work. This had a dramatic effect on Mum's mental health, she became more anxious, more confused and struggled with day to day living cumulating in Mum wondering from her home on regular occasions.
In December 2020 Mum moved to Manorhey Care Home, a decision that was hard to make, but one that I did make because I believed that Mum's health and safety was a priority. WOW! What a difference 8 weeks have made, Mum seems to be enjoying her life again, she has a smile on her face, she has a glint in her eye. Your team celebrated her birthday in style. Thanks for making a difference.

My father has been a resident at Manorhey for some years. He has Alzheimer’s disease. The specialist dementia care has been really good and he is content and comfortable there. The staff team know him well and offer personalised care for his needs. They have been able to notice any small deterioration
in his condition and pass that on to us. I have seen him once during lockdown but have had cards, photos and videos of him to keep in touch. I would recommend the specialist dementia care highly.

I cannot thank the team at the Manorhey enough for their care and dedication in looking after my dad. Since arriving in November 2020, the team have helped him settle in and provided support for him and our family. I would definitely recommend the Manorhey.

My Mum was discharged from hospital in July 2020 and went to Manorhey until her death of advanced dementia in December 2020. The care that she was provided with was excellent and gave me great comfort and reassurance that she was being looked after with care and dignity in her final few months. How
the staff interacted with me was also excellent and never too busy to speak to me or keep me informed.

My wife was accepted into the Manorhey Care Home on 5th November direct from hospital after a nasty fall down the stairs. She is looked after by excellent staff who have settled her in very nicely and she is very happy and contented there. She is in very good hands and though I miss her company desperately,
I now know that she is in safe hands.

My brother has severe Alzheimer's and has been a resident at Manorhey Care Centre for several years. Thankfully staff are very caring, compassionate and knowledgeable - always doing their best to reassure my brother. When I’ve visited I am always made to feel welcome and never a nuisance! to my brother are available and I’ve found staff do everything they can to make things easy.

My sister has been a resident at the Manorhey Care Home for several years and I would like to thank the new manager who arrived at the Manorhey Care Home in August 2020.
Since arriving, she has brought the Manorhey back to the standard of where it should be, which is a very well run care home. Due
to the pandemic, I have not been able to meet her in person but I have communicated with her on the telephone. I think she is doing a fantastic job and I would highly recommend the Manorhey Care Home to anyone who is looking for a care home. The Manorhey is now back on track and has again become a caring and friendly place once again. Thank you to the manager and all the staff for all your hard work, you are making my sister a lot happier and I am sure all the residents now feel the same. Thank you.

My mother-in-law was admitted to Manorhey as a discharge to assess following a hospital admission during the COVID-19 crisis. Sadly she deteriorated very suddenly and was not expected to live. The staff enabled family members to visit to say their goodbyes. As a family, we observed excellent, gentle
and outstanding care to our mother, but the care to ourselves was outstanding. They were compassionate, understanding and generous and exceeded our expectations in every way.

My mother in law was placed here as an emergency respite placement due to my father in law's illness. From the first assessment, I felt extremely comfortable about leaving her in the care of Manorhey. The staff, atmosphere and whole experience was really good.

The friend I visited regularly at all times of the day, was very comfortable, always clean, washed and dressed in freshly laundered nighties and clothes. There were no unpleasant smells in any of the day rooms or bedrooms. Any issues I had over care needs were always addressed to my satisfaction and

Prior to going to Manorhey Care Centre my husband was in hospital for a few weeks and was not allowed to get out of bed (due to a 'balance' problem and was prone to falling) therefore, he lost use in his legs and arms. Since being in Manorhey Care Centre (which took a while to settle in) he is happier,
talking more, is being taken out of his room to join in activities in the lounge, eat at a table in the dining room and feed himself. All of this is due to the caring and friendly staff.

My mum became a resident at Manorhey in March 2018.
Amongst other problems, she has Alzheimers, causing severe dementia, hence she was very confused over the early months. Staff were very caring and did their best to reassure Mum and help her to settle.
They also took the trouble to reassure me that
Mum would be cared for and that she would eventually settle in. Activity staff try and persuade Mum to join in activities where appropriate to help occupy her. She has been taken out 3 times during the summer and really enjoyed this. (She walks with a frame and has to be supervised). She has also enjoyed the lovely home gardens through last summer.
Special pureed diet and thickened drinks provided. A few issues but management are always keen to address those.

My dear friend who I helped to find the best care home I could has now sadly passed away peacefully,
I would like to thank all the staff and management for the care she received throughout her time there, this also includes the end of life care plan.
All the staff were very caring and professional

Job Title: Home Manager

Hi, my name is Natalie, I am the Home Manager of Manorhey. I am new to my post and I have been fortunate to have worked at Manorhey since its establishment in 2010.


It has been a pleasure providing care for the local community for the past 14 years and working alongside the NHS Trafford council and wider multi-disciplinary team.


Our purpose is to be a positive inspiration and influence for the people we work with, live with and support.
