An excellent care home. My Mum and step dad were both resident at Buckingham Lodge. Following my stepdad's passing in November, I asked if we could hold a gathering at the home for friends and family after his cremation. I was very thankful and impressed with how well looked after we all were. We were given a private room, afternoon tea was laid on and we were personally looked after by a member of staff.

Since this sad event, the staff have looked after Mum very well, encouraging her to join activities, offering time, and support. She was moved to a new room and maintenance staff helped make this as homely as possible. Buckingham Lodge is a very caring place, staff show exceptional kindness to Mum and I am always made to feel very welcome when I visit.

Excellent care home from the place itself down to the staff. Wonderful atmosphere as soon as you enter, the workers there are so sincere and it shows they love what they do, and truly care about the residents. The food and the decor of the place is exceptional.

My mother has been in Buckingham Lodge since July 2024 after 2 short periods of respite there. The building in very well maintained with nice modern decor.
The staff are very friendly, understanding and caring to both the residents as well as the residents families and everyone is treated with dignity. The staff work hard to keep the residents safe and occupied, encouraging them to take part in many activities for body as well as mind. The food is prepared, cooked and served on the premises by in house chef and staff. My mother loves all the food!

Overall Buckingham Lodge in my view is both very well managed and run by all the staff and gives all my family peace of mind that my mum is safe, supervised and well cared for socially and medically.

On arrival at Buckingham Lodge I find the care park and gardens always neat and tidy with plenty of room to park. Reception is well controlled. My daughter's room is excellent always clean and has no odour, the lounge is very comfortable, the cafe and dining rooms are very nicely presented. The entertainment for the residents is also very good.

My daughter is very happy living in the care home.

We moved our friend from Essex to be nearer to us and can honestly say, it's the best thing that we did for him. The level of care from all the staff was very good, everyone was so friendly and settled him in very quickly. He thoroughly enjoyed the activities, much to our surprise, as he was quite a solitary man. When we first viewed Buckingham Lodge, we were impressed with the cleanliness and decor and how generous the residents' rooms were. Sadly, my friend's stay was only to be for six months but he was happy and looked after.

Overall, everything has been lovely. My wife has been here for over three years. The staff are friendly and they take good care of my wife. The home is always clean and tidy. My wife is now on a pureed diet and shake but when she first came, she very much enjoyed her food.

Buckingham Lodge is the most remarkable place. The moment you enter you're greeted by kind caring staff, who do care about the residents and enjoy their jobs. They take an interest in the resident, their likes/dislikes hobbies, etc., and then talk to them about them. They somehow make time to answer all questions/queries/concerns you or the resident may have. Residents and visitors are treated with dignity and respect. Everyone is so friendly. My Dad thought he was in a 5-star hotel, it truly is that good - nothing is too much trouble. They enabled me to go back from being a carer to a daughter and for that, I am eternally grateful!

Our overall impression of Buckingham Lodge is pretty good. The visually smart interior, excellent food, very welcoming staff and more importantly the feedback we get from our mother is always very positive. Slight concerns however on personal care. More assistance required in the toilet area we feel. My dad is incontinent so more prompting and pad changes during the day would be good. My mother suffers with oedema so leg elevation and gentle exercise would be beneficial. I appreciate you are often short-staffed but these are areas of possible improvement we feel.

My friend was a resident at Buckingham Lodge for four years. She didn't have any visitors but always said that the staff were excellent. She was always treated with kindness, dignity and respect by all staff who always went the extra mile, especially when she needed shopping done for herself. She was very happy at Buckingham Lodge, she had no family apart from me.

A house becomes a home when it is filled with kindness, love and respect, which are all the attributes that the carers at Buckingham Lodge possess whilst providing the best care for their residents. My mum is happy and feels at home - the carers are her extended family. I am forever grateful for the professional care and attention provided for my mum. Thank you to all the carers - you all do an amazing job.
