Overall very good and considerate to mom's needs.
Things attended to quickly when asked and very welcome to all family members.
Sometimes have to pass a message onto a different carer as a previous request not passed on.

I would certainly recommend the care home to others as it is like being at home.

My mother has settled well here the staff are skilled and very supportive. My mother was very unhappy prior to the move here but has started to participate in activities of which there are many. There are helpful to myself and my family, kind, happy to listen and support us too!

The Beeches care home provides exceptional care. All members of staff from management to housekeepers are a credit to the home. The care provided to my mother is second to none. Everyone's approach is done with dignity. When my mother needs encouragement, there is always someone on hand, a kind word softly spoken. The home is spotlessly clean and nothing is too much trouble. There is always plenty of activities and the food is excellent.

In my opinion, the staff are angels without wings.

The staff are excellent.
Everyone is helpful and friendly to my Dad who is totally blind and very deaf.
He always tells me he is being looked after very well.
His care plan was devised in consultation with me and is being closely followed.

The Beeches is a very good care home.

Most staff helpful. Have to keep checking my Mum is bathed. As soon as you walk into where residents are there is an overpowering smell of urine. Often dirty linen bags left in the hallway. Can't remember when we last had a review meeting. Rooms not cleaned very well, have to ask for toilet roll. Entertainment good. Towels for residents threadbare. As a paying customer overall care - poor.

I am really sad to read this review as I am always here to talk through any concerns but these are ones I haven’t heard before. Our residents’ welfare is our number one priority and if someone does not want a bath every day then we must respect their wishes. We are regularly complimented on how...

Just after my nan came into the care home, the staff made her feel very very welcome. They included her in all the activities and introduced her to all the other service users.

As the husband of a resident, I am very pleased with the care and attention given to her. All the staff are very helpful and capable. Nothing is too much trouble to keep everyone happy and contented. I would have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone requiring this level of care. I feel the "chef" and kitchen staff should be mentioned for the excellent meals they provide, they keep all fit and healthy.

When we were looking for care for our relative, after a few no-go places we came across "The Beeches" my husband and I went for a visit there. As soon as we entered the building we felt the warmth and friendly atmosphere and new we had found the right one. It was clean, light and warm. The residents all looked relaxed and content. There are lots of activities going o also visiting is unrestricted. She has settled in nicely.

Review from B N (Cousin of Resident) published on 7 November 2016 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience
Generally, the care mu cousin is receiving is good, however, one of my concerns is the amount of time spent on paperwork by the carers, this detracts from the care they should be giving 100% of the time they are on duty. I believe that the whole system of recording residents day to day details should be revised and more modern practices used, i.e electronic not pads sending information to the management team. I know this would be costly but one has to move with the times.

The remainder of my comments concerning the private rooms, meals cleanliness etc are all good.

Reply from Tina Walstrom, Home Manager at The Beeches Residential Care Home
Thank you for your positive comments. Updating care plans and recording details like our residents’ nutritional intake, any medication they have needed etc is a vital part my team’s role because it ensures we are delivering person-centred care to each of our residents.

I am delighted to say that...

We have been really impressed with the support of all staff who are trying really hard to help our Mom settle in. They have not pressurised her to leave her room to eat her meals with the other residents, but have let her eat her meals in her room. Mom has extreme difficulties with her vocabulary and is not able to ask for anything, but the staff have asked us or have just left food etc. for her. We have had extreme difficulties with getting Mom dressed or washed but she is now letting the staff help her. We are so relieved!!

I visited the home for the first time today, and I was very impressed with what I found. The home was very clean, and the staff and management were extremely friendly. The management sat down with my cousin and I was discussing how my aunt was settling in she has only been there just over a week. The cafe area for visitors is lovely with a view over the garden. The lunch that my aunt had was well presented and she ate all her food. Looking forward to next visit.

After a lengthy stay in a hospital, mom went to the Beeches. The staff team is working hard to socialise mom into her new home. Cannot fault their dedication & professionalism. The facilities are appropriate to the needs of the client and provide a calm and reassuring atmosphere to assist in the rehabilitation of mom. All the staff are friendly and approachable. I was very apprehensive about mom going into a care setting however the Beeches has allayed my fears.

Food is excellent and varied. Cannot praise them highly enough.

When I realised my dad wasn't coping as well as he said he was, 12 months ago. I suggested we look at sheltered/residential care. He was adamant "I'm not going in one of those places" Just last week after four months in The Beeches he said, "You know this was the best move we ever made"! It says it all really! He is happy, well cared for, enjoys the food and the entertainment, and for me I have peace of mind knowing people are at hand when he needs help. Thanks to the lovely staff.

Francesca LileJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2017

I began my career in care as an activities coordinator, discovering the joy of bringing happiness and purpose to residents.

Later, as a care assistant, I had the privilege of ensuring residents received tailored care informed by their unique histories and needs.

In my senior care roles, I embraced a person-centred approach, treating residents like extended family. I believe in truly knowing each individual, and helping them to live fulfilling lives.

Becoming a mother deepened my empathy for families, teaching me to address even small concerns with compassion and care. I always strive to view situations through the lens of how I would want my own loved ones treated.

Now, as Home Manager at The Beeches, I bring years of experience and a passion for creating a vibrant, welcoming environment where residents, their families, and staff feel valued and supported.

I am proud of Sanctuary Care’s ethos of enriching lives, and fostering a safe, nurturing home with engaging, personalised experiences that help every resident thrive.
