'Care' facility. Sadly being bedridden, mum is unable to take part in the many varied activities that are put on for the residents to keep them stimulated and entertained. From everything I witness during my visits these all pay off as between the staff and residents the smiles are bountiful. I could not recommend Windmill House more.
Thank you so much for you warm and positive feedback. We hope your mum has settled nicely and is happy with the care she is getting. We are always here -happy to help.
We have been visiting Windmill House on a regular basis since January 2025. At the onset we received a friendly and warm welcome from all of the staff with whom we came into contact, and this clearly reflect the philosophy of the home. From our observations the utilities are of a high quality, and maintained to an excellent standard. Our friend has a single en-suit room where we can meet in comfort. There is also a coffee lounge where residents can entertain their visitors with tea and coffee provided. Our friend advises that the food is excellent and there is always a choice of any meals. We have also been impressed by the many and varied activities that are organised for the benefit of the residents, both within and the outside of the home. The fact that the Care Quality Commission in their most recent report of March 2025 rated the home Good in all five disciplines inspected speaks for itself. We would commend Maria and her dedicated group of staff for all their good work
Thank you for your kind words and continued visits to Windmill House . It means a great deal to hear that you and your friend feel welcomed , comfortable and well supported in our home. My mother highly rates the food that she is given.

My friend has been transferred to the Windmill House Wymondham care home. I have noticed the change in her general health. She appears much happier and alert. There are lots of activities that encourage and include the residents. My friend tries to get involved in those she's interesting in.The home is very clean and cheerfully decorated. All the members of staff that I have spoken to have been helpful. I believe my friend has settled well in this home and is happy.

Dealing with dementia in the family and deciding to place a loved one, especially a parent, into a care setting is never going to be easy, but the support, advice and warmth we've continually experienced from Maria and her team has made it that little bit easier. Mum has been living at Windmill House for a year now and I do genuinely feel she is part of a community. The residents have mixed needs but staff pull together and work so hard to create a relaxed, fun and homely environment. Yes, occasionally little issues arise as you might imagine in a setting such as this, but the tight knit team do their best to put our minds at rest and ensure mum is well cared for, clean, fed with tasty home cooked food, entertained and most importantly loved! I honestly feel so fortunate to have found Windmill house.
Thank you for seeing us beyond just a care home. We strongly advocate the value of inclusion and that's why everybody is a part of this wonderful family that we are building. I hope your mom continues to feel cared for and loved by Us.
Despite her complex needs linked to her Alzheimer's the staff have been amazing.
They care, they treat her with respect and every need is met.
The communication and support for families is brilliant and it has been the best thing I could ask for for mum.
She is now safe and I can relax in the knowledge she is in the best place possible. A shared thank you to the staff team is nowhere near enough to express my gratitude!
Thank you for your kind words and hope mom continues to settle. Your appreciation will be shared to all the staff team.
From my very first contact with Windmill House, as a daughter of soon to be resident, the staff at every level have been kind, reassuring and knowledgeable. The care my mother has received is way beyond expectations and I can relax in the knowledge that her final days are being spent on such caring surroundings. The admiration I feel towards all staff includes the managerial, administrative, caring, cleaning and chefs.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We are glad your mom has settled nicely in the home and you feel reassured that she is in the right place. We will share this message to the team.
Made to feel very welcome when visiting! Staff know where she is when I arrive and tell me how she has participated with things after the previous few days. Plenty of activities going on throughout the day with staff fully engaged.
Thank you for your kind words. We are glad to hear we have provided a welcoming environment here in Windmill. Our aim is to always provide meaningful activities to our residents and see them happy everyday.
It's a lovely, bright, well laid out, clean and fresh smelling care home. The rooms all look nice and lots of residents have personal belongs which makes it very homely.
The facilities are good, there is even a cafe room for visiting relatives and friends to make use of, should they wish to.
And of course what makes Windmill House such a good carehome is the staff. I could not have been made more welcome when I viewed. The manager is a diamond and she has a fantastic team of dedicated staff.
My Mum has not been so occupied and happy in a long time. I know she is safe and extremely well cared for both emotionally and physically. Windmill house has been and still is a God send. I highly recommend this caring care home.
Thank you for your kind words. I am glad you and your mom are both happy with the care we provide. We will pass these comments to our team who I'm sure will be much appreciated.
My dad came into Windmill House from another local care home which we thought was good! But wow, the difference we have found with Windmill House is totally different experience. Much more friendly staff, a pleasant reception area, excellent care with experienced staff. Food is great and the chef is so friendly with residents & guests. A particular staff member is brilliant with all the residents, her games & entertainment for residents is top notch. The manager has to take a lot of credit as it starts at the top. 10/10 thank you xx

My mother has been resident at Windmill for almost two years now, and her quality of life, her physical health, and her cognitive skills have all improved massively as a result of living in Windmill's amazing caring and loving environment. The staff - management, carers, kitchen, housework and activities all work together to create a very special loving and fun atmosphere. They show respect and kindness in everything they do.
Thank you for this positive feedback. We will share this with the team. We are so glad we have made an impact on our resident's health and wellbeing.
I selected Windmill House from five other care homes. I was very impressed at the ease with which I was able to organise a period of respite care for my mother, who is living with Alzheimer's and Dementia. The management, reception and staff are very supportive, knowledgeable and helpful. I am comforted by their great communication and warmth. Windmill House has a cosy atmosphere and the building is spacious, light and airy. The level of care my mother receives is of a high standard, so much so that my mother's condition has improved. The activities program is very well thought out with a wide variety of appropriate activities which are stimulating and engaging, delivered by a caring, loving, professional team. The food served at Windmill House is outstanding. The accommodation is spacious, clean and well-maintained. I am so thankful to Windmill House for providing such a good service in our time of need. I feel positive that my loved one is responding so well to being in their care.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We always aim to support our residents to the best that we can. I will share your feed back to all staff team.
I enjoyed my week's respite. It was my first experience of care home living and it was much better than I imagined. It was made to feel at 'home'. The staff were caring and I enjoyed being with/and in the company of other residents. I would have no hesitation in returning for repsite and I would recommend Windmill to friends. Thank you.
Thank you for your positive feedback and we are glad to know you have enjoyed your stay in Windmill House. We hope to see you again soon.

Meet the Team (3)

Welcome to Windmill House! I have managed a few care homes, was heavily involved in quality and compliance and helped out other managers before joining as the Home Manager of Windmill House. I always believe that caring for the residents is done through a partnership between families and everyone in the care home including the members of the multidisciplinary team. What makes Windmill House special is our commitment to making this a homely environment where visiting the residents is like coming to their own home and seeing friendly faces just like we are all one happy family. My whole team here in Windmill House is exceptional and everyone is willing to go over and beyond. Please feel free to visit our lovely home to see and experience it for yourself!

I have been part of Windmill House since 2014, beginning my journey as a Care Assistant. Through dedication and growth, I progressed to Acting Care Team Leader before becoming the Home’s Administrator in 2017.
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, along with a Level 2 qualification in Business Administration, which support me in delivering both compassionate care and effective organisation within the home.
Windmill House is more than just a workplace to me—it feels like a second home. It’s a warm, welcoming, and friendly environment, made truly special by the people within it. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such an amazing team, all of whom are committed to providing the highest standard of care.

Hi, my name is Simon, and I'm the Maintenance Man at Windmill House. I've had the pleasure of working here for many years, starting my journey as a care assistant. Over the years, I've developed a deep connection with the residents and enjoy being part of their daily lives. While my role now focuses on maintenance, I still find great joy in interacting with the residents whenever I can. It's incredibly rewarding to be part of such a caring community, and I take pride in ensuring everything runs smoothly so that everyone feels comfortable and well taken care of.
