I feel very happy to see Mum so settled and well cared for at Windmill House. Her room is clean and tidy. Photos have been put up, making it her own personal space. Mum tells me she is happy and that I should "get my name down now" for a place!
It was great to spend time with Mum. We found the staff most welcoming after a long lockdown.
Only just been allowed in due to Covid. The Visitor Coordinator I have interacted with has been super helpful and kind, she is a gem.
My fathers stay so far has been a pleasant one, the staff are kind, the food is good, the rooms are clean and smell nice and warm.
Staff prepared, friendly, clear instructions.
Very impressed with all care given at Windmill House, especially during Covid. Pleasant surroundings and friendly staff.
The home provides very good care for residents. They have an excellent understanding of dementia needs. Windmill House have been outstanding during this difficult time of Covid-19.
Very friendly and welcoming - lovely environment.
I always know I shall be well looked after and the carers are first class.
Very friendly and helpful staff; they look after my dad very well, and kept him safe during Covid-19, and have tried very hard for the family to still see their loved ones. I would recommend this care home.
Our father has been in this care home since 30/12/20. So far, all has been very good. His level of care is a vast improvement on his home care, that he previously had. As a family, we are very happy with the all-round care and facilities of Windmill House. Our father is happy, also. We are sure our father will spend a happy time there.
We are extremely happy with the care home as a whole. Our mum is looked after with great care. All the staff are lovely and easy to speak to when needed. Always on hand to help. Couldn't ask for a better environment for your loved ones.
My Nan, who has sadly now passed away, was cared for at Windmill House in her last 6 months of life and in that time I cannot thank the staff enough for all the loving care they gave to her. Windmill House is a friendly, caring, well looked after care home and I would highly recommend this home to my friends and family. Again thank you to all staff members that made my nan's last 6 months the best that they could be.
I cannot praise the staff highly enough for all the love and care they give to my mum. They are all angels.
My mother has been a resident in Windmill House for nearly a year and the caring team there have coped extremely well. They have made every effort to involve family members and facilitate visits within the Guidelines. The team has been very caring and patient. They seek to make the lives of the residents as happy as possible. I would recommend it for your dementia relative.
The care that mother receives is just excellent. The home deserves it's outstanding.
My mum settled into Windmill House as if it was her own home from the start and lived there for two years happily and contented. When my husband needed care, I naturally wanted him to be at Windmill House too. The staff are caring and compassionate, giving of themselves as if the residents are their own family. Sadly my husband's time with them was short and not always easy. The staff never gave up on him and did everything they could to meet his needs in a loving way.
Staff at Windmill House are fantastic to both their residents and the relatives alike. Nothing is too much trouble; they've really stepped up to be true heroes in keeping everyone safe and well during Covid.
The staff at Windmill House have been excellent in their treatment of my mother. In the 18 months she was a resident she enjoyed their company and I've not seen her laugh so much in a long time. The staff kept her fed/entertained and regularly topped up with tea and biscuits! She had freedom to wonder and she was able to 'help' the staff in their rounds making beds (she was an ex nurse). She's gone now, but I have no doubts her last 18 months were all the better for being at Windmill House. Thank you!
Well deserved of it's "outstanding" CQC score.

Meet the Team (3)

Welcome to Windmill House! I have managed a few care homes, was heavily involved in quality and compliance and helped out other managers before joining as the Home Manager of Windmill House. I always believe that caring for the residents is done through a partnership between families and everyone in the care home including the members of the multidisciplinary team. What makes Windmill House special is our commitment to making this a homely environment where visiting the residents is like coming to their own home and seeing friendly faces just like we are all one happy family. My whole team here in Windmill House is exceptional and everyone is willing to go over and beyond. Please feel free to visit our lovely home to see and experience it for yourself!

I have been part of Windmill House since 2014, beginning my journey as a Care Assistant. Through dedication and growth, I progressed to Acting Care Team Leader before becoming the Home’s Administrator in 2017.
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, along with a Level 2 qualification in Business Administration, which support me in delivering both compassionate care and effective organisation within the home.
Windmill House is more than just a workplace to me—it feels like a second home. It’s a warm, welcoming, and friendly environment, made truly special by the people within it. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such an amazing team, all of whom are committed to providing the highest standard of care.

Hi, my name is Simon, and I'm the Maintenance Man at Windmill House. I've had the pleasure of working here for many years, starting my journey as a care assistant. Over the years, I've developed a deep connection with the residents and enjoy being part of their daily lives. While my role now focuses on maintenance, I still find great joy in interacting with the residents whenever I can. It's incredibly rewarding to be part of such a caring community, and I take pride in ensuring everything runs smoothly so that everyone feels comfortable and well taken care of.
