My step-dad was with the home manager at the Windmill House Care Home, they were first-class, looked after so well, all the staff were so kind and hugely supportive to myself and family. I would highly recommend this care home.
Thank you for your positive feedback. We will pass this to our team.
The manager is a superb professional. Attitude towards staff and residents is fabulous, very caring and incredibly sensitive. Truly professional in her field. The whole staff and team embrace every part of the home. I am thrilled as next of kin to one of the residents. I could not have chosen a better care home for him to be, so happy and settled in this beautiful home.
Thank you for your kind and positive words. We will share your feedback to the staff team.
Mum has been in Windmill House for over two years now. She always says how lucky she is to be in "this wonderful home".
We are very happy to provide Mum and our other residents a "wonderful home". Thank you so much for your feedback.
I have always found the home has a good atmosphere and overall the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Standard of care is good but communication could be improved, not always informed of changes to my dad's care, involved in review of his care plan. The home has plenty of activities for residents to join in and staff very proactive. Relative meetings held but not always given much notice of dates in advance. Food choice can be limited, especially at teatime, Dad is diabetic. Menu needs reviewing, raised with staff.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We continue to try and improve our service and we value your comments. We will pass this on to our team.
I was welcome as I arrived from the hospital and was taken to my room, which is extremely comfortable. The staff are all very kind, nothing is too much trouble. The food is very good, with a selection of very good meals and every day we have entertainment and items to make which I enjoy doing. Also, family members are always welcome. All in all everything and the staff are perfect, I am very happy here.
Thank you for your positive feedback. We hope you enjoy your stay with us.
I visited a friend who is a resident at Windmill House. It was her birthday celebration. I was impressed by the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. They went above and beyond to make my friend's birthday joyful and special. The home felt homely and full of positive energy.
Thank you. Your feedback speaks volumes about the quality of care and dedication of the staff here at Windmill House. We are sure you will have many more joyful moments shared with your friend in here. We shall pass this on to our team. Everyone will be delighted to hear such wonderful feedback.
Windmill House offers an ideal environment for my mum - she is safe, well cared for and looked after by all the staff. There is a clear ethos of a caring home. Where the residents' needs are of paramount importance. I'm happy that my mum enjoys living at Windmill and is very well looked after and cared for. She loves the food and the regular entertainment. I'm happy that she is happy and well looked after.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback. We will pass this to everyone in the team who will be delighted to know their care and efforts have been appreciated.
My aunt has lived here since October and she is doing really well. She has made friends, she has a nice room overlooking the garden. Looking forward to being able to sit outside once the weather is better.
Thank you so much for your kind words. The weather is getting better, it would be nice to see you all outside soon enjoying the garden and the fresh air.
Dad is well cared for, clean and happy. Staff are kind and thoughtful. His key worker is excellent. There are always stimulating activities for him to join in.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback. We will share this to our team.
I am unable to comment on the management or the food, but would assume these are of a high level based on the other areas, neither can I comment on value for money.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. We will pass this on to our our team.
She has made friends and particularly enjoyed the festive activities and entertainment.
Staff are attentive and friendly, reassuring us that she is in the right place.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback, Chris. We will pass these lovely comments on to the whole team.
My dad is happy and hot content at Windmill House. The staff are caring to dad and my mind is at rest knowing he is being looked after. The activities are great for the residents who wish to partake.
Thank you for your very kind feedback. We are glad your dad is happy and contented here in the Home. We will pass your positive comments to everyone.
I live overseas so I visited my mum at this care home for the first time in May. It was clean and the staff were very friendly and caring. It is spacious and has many rooms for guests to sit with their loved ones for coffee and a chat. The staff are professional and very helpful. My only complaint is that when I call to speak to my mum, which I do twice a week, the phone often rings with no answer or the call is disconnected. I last spoke to one of the staff members and she was lovely, patient and very kind, answering all my questions and concerns. Keep up the good work and thank you for all you do for my mum. Bless you all.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are really happy that we are able to support your mum. My apologies if there have been issues with you calling the home. Rest assured our telephone lines are working properly. Please call between the hours of 9-5 UK time if possible as our time difference might...
I am very happy with the care my mother receives at Windmill House. I am particularly impressed with the entertainment and activities organised. The residents will certainly never be bored! The food and cleanliness are of a very high standard.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. We will pass this to the team. We are glad you are happy with your overall experience.
Very satisfied with the home. There is a lovely atmosphere and the staff are warm and caring. The residents are busy all week with activities.
Thank you so much for your positive feedback. We will pass your comments to our team.
The staff were delightful, helpful and cheery. Our family came to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. The greeting cafe was decorated with bunting and banners and we were presented with a surprise birthday cake all of which was a lovely surprise. We have always been made to feel very welcome during our visit and I have every confidence in how the staff look after and care for my mother. Her dinner was served while we were with her. it smelled very tasty and looked appetising. Mum was eager to eat it despite having already had cake!
Thank you so much for your kind words. We aim to deliver the best care to our residents. I'm glad your mom enjoyed her birthday celebrations with everyone in your family present in the Home. I will pass this message to the team who am sure will be happy to hear about your feedback.
Many thanks to all the staff, Mum is smiling and happy when I see her.
Thank you for your kind words. This feedback will be passed on to the lovely team. I'm sure they'd love to hear they're being appreciated for their care and commitment.
The lack of a dedicated staff training room can be annoying to visitors as the refreshment cafe is used. A schedule of training would help visitors to arrange visits when the cafe is available. The location near the town centre enables accompanied residents to get out and about.
Thank you so much for your feedback, Richard. We are happy you feel the home is "a happy and pleasant place" as for the schedule of training, we will try our best to plan these things better. The next scheduled training is the 17th of October, we will make sure families are going to be made aware beforehand and allocate a place for you to share precious times with your loved ones.
I think the staff here are amazing always met with a smile and my mother is beautifully looked after. I couldn't ask for more from everyone. Thank you for all your hard work.
Thank you for your kind words. We endeavour to give all our residents the care and attention they need, if not more. We will pass on the lovely feedback to everyone in the team.
We have had many issues as a lack of communication when problems arose it took many times repeating the same request to get the problems resolved but communication now has got better.
Management has been in such turmoil, there have been several managers, leaving the staff with no proper leadership. One manager who came and stayed only a few weeks seemed perfect for the job and seemed to get things done and made a difference. Carers are kind and considerate and do their best considering the upheaval of these last few months.
Firstly, thank you for choosing our home to care for your loved one. Secondly, thank you for bringing the above concerns to our attention. This has been investigated and lessons have been learned and have been shared with staff to help us improve the care, communication, and well-being...

Meet the Team (3)

Welcome to Windmill House! I have managed a few care homes, was heavily involved in quality and compliance and helped out other managers before joining as the Home Manager of Windmill House. I always believe that caring for the residents is done through a partnership between families and everyone in the care home including the members of the multidisciplinary team. What makes Windmill House special is our commitment to making this a homely environment where visiting the residents is like coming to their own home and seeing friendly faces just like we are all one happy family. My whole team here in Windmill House is exceptional and everyone is willing to go over and beyond. Please feel free to visit our lovely home to see and experience it for yourself!

I have been part of Windmill House since 2014, beginning my journey as a Care Assistant. Through dedication and growth, I progressed to Acting Care Team Leader before becoming the Home’s Administrator in 2017.
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, along with a Level 2 qualification in Business Administration, which support me in delivering both compassionate care and effective organisation within the home.
Windmill House is more than just a workplace to me—it feels like a second home. It’s a warm, welcoming, and friendly environment, made truly special by the people within it. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such an amazing team, all of whom are committed to providing the highest standard of care.

Hi, my name is Simon, and I'm the Maintenance Man at Windmill House. I've had the pleasure of working here for many years, starting my journey as a care assistant. Over the years, I've developed a deep connection with the residents and enjoy being part of their daily lives. While my role now focuses on maintenance, I still find great joy in interacting with the residents whenever I can. It's incredibly rewarding to be part of such a caring community, and I take pride in ensuring everything runs smoothly so that everyone feels comfortable and well taken care of.
