My mother was a resident of Windmill Houe for several years. During this time she was treated with the utmost care and compassion, knowing she was being looked after so well was a huge weight lifted off the families shoulders.
Mum seems very happy, the care is very good and there is always entertainment. Can't fault anything.
The staff are very attentive and the activities are exceptional. The residents are always well looked after.
The staff here work so hard to make it a friendly warm atmosphere and always interact with the residents. There is always something going on to keep the residents engaged. I would certainly recommend, it's head and shoulders above other care homes.
Windmill House is the most caring home in my experience. All the staff are cheerful and loving. My wife could not better care anywhere. The facilities are first-rate and the attention to detail is wonderful. It is a great comfort to me that my wife is looked after so well.
On arrival, there is always a warm welcome from the staff. The home is clean and comfortable and is being redecorated with soft and relaxing colours but with bright cushions and flowers. The staff are helpful and caring and there is always someone to discuss any concerns relating to the care of a loved one.
Windmill House is an extremely good home. The care and attention is second to none. I wouldn't want my mum to be anywhere else. The management and staff are always very friendly and caring. Excellent care home.
When visiting 'Windmill House' you are always greeted with a smile from staff, and they always make time to discuss any issues or worries with us, which would be very rare as the care is really excellent. Mum is very happy and contented and has made some lovely friends both with other residents and visitors too, as we, ourselves have met some lovely people here. It is always a pleasure to visit and you are made very welcome whatever time you arrive at 'Windmill House'.
My friend has been here for one year, and she loved being here from the first day and still does.
Management keep everything 'ship-shape'.
Carers give residents thoughtful attention with kindness and humour.
There's a great range of activities.
If you want peace of mind that your treasured relative is getting the best possible level of care then Windmill House is the answer. It is a pleasure to visit my aunt and experience the lives of the residents living in this care home. Staff are very friendly and are good at communicating with me when it comes to my aunt's health and wellbeing. As well as a high standard of care she also gets to take part in a varied range of activities and enjoys organising entertainment - all year round. I really can't thank everyone at Windmill House enough for how well they look after my aunt.
In my job as a visiting companion for residents who don't have many visitors, this is, without doubt, the best, most friendly caring home that I visit. Every member of staff from top to bottom, I found to be the most caring I meet. Care, food, facilities and activities provided are top-notch. As a regular visitor to the home, I am made really welcome by all concerned. Without a doubt, the best I've been to, including those I have worked in myself. If I wanted a job, I would want to join this team and home.
Lucky to have found Windmill House to care for our mum who is settled and happy. Carers and management team and support staff have created a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents and relatives. Excellent range of activities are provided to cater for differing needs, which mum and her pals really enjoy. Well done and thanks to a brilliant team.
I cannot thank Windmill House enough for the care they gave my uncle and the support they gave me. As my uncle was terminally ill when he became a resident it was a very difficult time for both of us. I visited my uncle every day so could see how kind and caring the staff always were.
My mother has now passed away after just over 2 years at Windmill House. At all times she was treated with respect, care and love by the outstanding staff which includes the cleaners, kitchen and laundry workers. After her death, the level of support to family members has been a great comfort. Thanks to all.
The last 10 months of my father's life was spent in Windmill House. He was very comfortable, happy and well looked after. The staff were always attentive and caring. Dad's needs were always met, he never felt that he was in an institution, but in his own home. Activities were organised with remembrance day and sherry pleased Dad so much. The management and staff are exceptionally good at their jobs and completely understand dementia.
My mother has enjoyed her stay with you and has no complaints with anything. She loves the food and activities.
This is the first time my mother-in-law has lived in a care home so we were concerned. However, she has made many friends and has nothing but praise for the helpful and friendly staff. We know that she is safe here and are happy with the care and dignified treatment she is receiving.
This place is wonderful, they have helped my granny beyond belief. My granny loves to be helpful so they have got her involved in lots of activities, they have even created a whole coffee and tea morning for her. Although granny isn't mentally well, is still very physically fit so she still doesn't understand why she is here, compared to some of the other residents, so all the staff have got her involved helping round the place and she loves it. 100% recommend.
This place is amazing, most days my grandmother packs up her room to go home. The staff are so patient with her and involve her in activities, they've even created a coffee and tea morning for her as she has always loved to entertain. My granny is still very fit physically, so she helps feed some of the other residents who need more assistance. She loves to help set up for dinner and enjoys working in the garden. The staff here are so welcoming and caring, would recommend this place to everyone.

Meet the Team (3)

Welcome to Windmill House! I have managed a few care homes, was heavily involved in quality and compliance and helped out other managers before joining as the Home Manager of Windmill House. I always believe that caring for the residents is done through a partnership between families and everyone in the care home including the members of the multidisciplinary team. What makes Windmill House special is our commitment to making this a homely environment where visiting the residents is like coming to their own home and seeing friendly faces just like we are all one happy family. My whole team here in Windmill House is exceptional and everyone is willing to go over and beyond. Please feel free to visit our lovely home to see and experience it for yourself!

I have been part of Windmill House since 2014, beginning my journey as a Care Assistant. Through dedication and growth, I progressed to Acting Care Team Leader before becoming the Home’s Administrator in 2017.
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, along with a Level 2 qualification in Business Administration, which support me in delivering both compassionate care and effective organisation within the home.
Windmill House is more than just a workplace to me—it feels like a second home. It’s a warm, welcoming, and friendly environment, made truly special by the people within it. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such an amazing team, all of whom are committed to providing the highest standard of care.

Hi, my name is Simon, and I'm the Maintenance Man at Windmill House. I've had the pleasure of working here for many years, starting my journey as a care assistant. Over the years, I've developed a deep connection with the residents and enjoy being part of their daily lives. While my role now focuses on maintenance, I still find great joy in interacting with the residents whenever I can. It's incredibly rewarding to be part of such a caring community, and I take pride in ensuring everything runs smoothly so that everyone feels comfortable and well taken care of.
