Windmill House is excellent from the minute mom arrived. Plenty of knowledgable staff who all seem to know what and who is doing each part of mums care. Very organised clean and spacious. Plenty of activities and ideas to help communicate and help mom to de her best within her diminishing capabilities.
My mum has been a resident at Windmill House for 9 months now and I'm so impressed at how happy and well cared for she is. The staff were, without exception, friendly, welcoming and showed kindness to all the residents. They clearly knew Mum well and understood her individual needs, but clearly acknowledged her uniqueness top, mentioning her achievements in her earlier life. The home itself was very clean and well designed to support people with dementia. Super impressed.
Visited my neighbour today. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the establishment was. Staff are very pleasant and caring.
This care home richly deserves its outstanding award. I cannot praise it enough. It was with a heavy heart that I moved my father here but from the moment I walked through the door I knew it was the right place. It is so warm and welcoming. Dad spent 5 happy months here. It was wonderful to see him blossom and enjoy all the activities. The staff were so caring with my dad in his last days and treated him with love and respect. They are all wonderful. Thank you all so much.
There is always something to do and the food is lovely. I have a lovely room, always clean and comfortable. I feel very safe here as I am nervous at night and the staff keep a check on me.
The care my mum is receiving at Windmill House, Wymondham is excellent. The staff are friendly, caring, helpful and understanding. Each resident is treated as an individual and looked after according to their needs.
There are many activities for residents to take part in including baking, pottery and music therapy. The home-made food is top quality with lots of choice and variety. Best of all, Mum is happy and enjoying life giving us, her family, peace of mind. A happy mum equals a happy family. Thank you.
The first time I entered Windmill House my thoughts were this was the place for my mother-in-law. The staff were friendly and welcoming. When shown to the room she was going to stay it was like going into a hotel. Since she has been there she's a different person, content and happier. She seems to get on with everybody. The food is great, a choice of menu. There's a quiet room to go and have a cup of tea. The manager is on the ball, she makes sure things are done.
Plenty of activities in a stimulating and caring environment.
Lovely place, residents always happy with lots going on to keep them entertained.
There is always something going on, plenty of activities, singing, craft and cooking. Residents all seem very happy, staff very caring and chatty.
My uncle was cared for in a fantastic manner. It made his last few weeks of his life very pleasant with all the activities they did. He was always well presented when we visited. He also had eaten well every day.
During my wife's stay at Windmill House, the management, carers and staff treated her with great kindness, respect and dignity. They treated her special needs with the utmost care and nothing was too much trouble for them. I cannot praise them enough for the way she was looked after and I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.
Always a good experience and can't fault the care that Mum is receiving.
My mother is having very good care from all the staff. All the staff are friendly and professional, from the manager and deputy to the care team.
I have volunteered here for over a year and I have seen nothing but care and dedication from the staff. Each individual is cared for lovingly and a strong sense of community and family is felt across the home. It's always clean in the resident's rooms and in the communal areas and the safety of the residents is always ensured with the security put in place. All kinds of events are always being put on to entertain the residents and the residents are treated with dignity at all times.
Just excellent all round. Can not fault Windmill House.
Having volunteered at the care home since September 2017, I have seen how the carers have handled an array of different situations since joining. I have befriended many residents and feel more than comfortable with the way they are treated. At times when I did not know how best to help a resident, the carers have been amazing, and I hope when I'm old enough to become a resident, I'm treated half as well as the Windmill House treats their residents.
Cheerful staff who together with the activities coordinator, keep the residents mentally stimulated. Always clean and tidy home, where the dignity of residents is paramount. I would have no hesitation in recommending Windmill House to anyone looking for a safe environment for a loved one.
Excellent cleanliness, caring motivated staff with different activities to keep residents mentally stimulated. I would recommend the facilities to anyone looking for somewhere for a relative.
The building itself is modern and in good repair. It has a coded entry system to the building and the floors within it are very clean and well maintained. The residents are given a choice of food at mealtimes and can eat in their room or the dining room, or the common room. There is entertainment provided daily and the residents are encouraged to join in. The staff are very compassionate, professional and are trained to deal with dementia residents. Overall I was very happy with the care and attention my mother received in the last three years of her life and would recommend Windmill House to others.

Meet the Team (3)

Welcome to Windmill House! I have managed a few care homes, was heavily involved in quality and compliance and helped out other managers before joining as the Home Manager of Windmill House. I always believe that caring for the residents is done through a partnership between families and everyone in the care home including the members of the multidisciplinary team. What makes Windmill House special is our commitment to making this a homely environment where visiting the residents is like coming to their own home and seeing friendly faces just like we are all one happy family. My whole team here in Windmill House is exceptional and everyone is willing to go over and beyond. Please feel free to visit our lovely home to see and experience it for yourself!

I have been part of Windmill House since 2014, beginning my journey as a Care Assistant. Through dedication and growth, I progressed to Acting Care Team Leader before becoming the Home’s Administrator in 2017.
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, along with a Level 2 qualification in Business Administration, which support me in delivering both compassionate care and effective organisation within the home.
Windmill House is more than just a workplace to me—it feels like a second home. It’s a warm, welcoming, and friendly environment, made truly special by the people within it. I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of such an amazing team, all of whom are committed to providing the highest standard of care.

Hi, my name is Simon, and I'm the Maintenance Man at Windmill House. I've had the pleasure of working here for many years, starting my journey as a care assistant. Over the years, I've developed a deep connection with the residents and enjoy being part of their daily lives. While my role now focuses on maintenance, I still find great joy in interacting with the residents whenever I can. It's incredibly rewarding to be part of such a caring community, and I take pride in ensuring everything runs smoothly so that everyone feels comfortable and well taken care of.
