Mum moved into Avondale a year ago and has been very well looked after. After her stroke, she was no longer able to live alone and was in poor health. She now looks and feels so much stronger, thanks to the care and attention she is getting each day.

Friendly, welcoming, safe, caring home. My mother has been a resident for some 19 months and loves it there. Covid 19 has been a very challenging time for everyone but the home have managed very professionally and kept Mum safe.

Avondale is a lovely facility which offers many opportunities to its residents, but over and above this, is the staff. My father spent just over four weeks in Avondale Care Home before passing away peacefully. During this time the staff treated my dad with care, dignity and compassion. This was very important to me, as visiting was severely restricted due to COVID-19. During my few visits though, I could tell by dad's
reactions that he was being well cared for. Thank you to all!

I found all the staff very pleasant and helpful. They were all very professional and caring in all dealings with the family and Mum.
The client services manager and care manager were very supportive and thorough in ensuring they could met my mother's needs. A big thank you to you both!
They were able
to allay any concerns and fears the family had about respite care and using Avondale.
They asked about Mum's likes, dislikes interests etc and what they could do to support mum; especially as she can be challenging.
I would definitely recommend and use the care home again as they gave peace of mind, especially under the challenging circumstances of COVID 19.
Also thank you for all the help, compassion and the follow-up calls. It is greatly appreciated.

My husband has spent 81/2 years at Avondale. He had Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia and was completely reliant on staff for every aspect of his life. he could not have received better care anywhere. The support to the family has been amazing. Avondale should be very proud of their staff, especially
during the current crisis. He passed away peacefully with me by his side and the love and care of everyone around him on 29th March 2020. tThank you all.

My mother, brother and I would highly recommend Avondale Care home.
Right from the start with our initial meeting with the Home Manager and Client Services Manager we were guided with care so we could make the upsetting but necessary decision to move my father into a care home.
The Home Manager
assessed my father, his personality and his symptoms of Alzheimer's and suggested the most suitable wing and room location for him.
The team worked very hard right from the start to make the move as comfortable for my father as possible. Every visit we made to see my father was a happy visit, there is a lovely atmosphere at Avondale. The carers were like family to my father, and the attention to detail with the nursing and care at Avondale is incredibly high. They really understand dementia and all members of the caring and nursing staff are highly trained.
We would highly recommend Avondale.

My mother was welcomed into Avondale by all members of staff. The arrangement of the home into small units ensures a caring family atmosphere with residents interacting with the same staff. My mother's individual needs regarding food are always accommodated. It is evident that the staff are happy in
their working environment which also contributes to a cohesive family feeling. The care and empathy shown is excellent. The staff are supportive towards relatives willing to offer advice. The accommodation is scrupulously clean and the building is bright, airy and welcoming.

All the management team was really welcoming and reassuring from the initial stages of choosing a home to my husband's assessment, and then his admission. The admission was a daunting experience but all staff made it easier by introducing themselves and immediately treating my husband with the utmost
care and dignity and to a really high standard. This continued throughout his stay. They all also treated me with cheerfulness and friendliness and phoned me if they had any concerns. Nothing was too much trouble and as a family, we could not have asked for better care.

My mother was a resident at Avondale for 5 years before she passed away at the end of February 2020. The care and attention Mum received was first class. The staff were so nice to Mum, particularly as her needs were many and the demands on their time quite extensive.

I was looking for somewhere for my mum to receive a week's respite care after a two-week stay in hospital as she wasn't sufficiently well to go back home. Avondale was recommended to me by mum's local friends and in fact, Mum had once visited a friend there herself and was very impressed with everything
about it. I spoke at length with the Manager and Client Services Manager and felt very comfortable that Mum would be well looked after. The Manager kindly arranged to send out a nurse to assess Mum in hospital to ensure that her care needs could be met. Within a couple of days, Mum was happily settled in a lovely room with amazing staff and her every need was met. Mum was on oxygen 24/7 so it was difficult for her to leave her room - that was not a problem and each of her delicious meals were brought to her on a tray with a silver cloche and even a glass of wine with her evening meal!
Thanks to all the staff at Avondale; if needs be, I would not hesitate for Mum to go back in the future.

Mum died on 15th February 2020 after 3 1/2 years being cared for in Avondale. The staff on Pink are absolutely fantastic. They have gone above and beyond and not just cared for Mum during her stay but really cared for her. Thank you to all at Avondale.

I am completely satisfied with all aspects of my husband's care. He was always treated with respect and dignity. This applied to all staff from cleaner up to managers. The culture of the home is one of happiness and fun for residents and their visitors. It was always a pleasure to visit my husband.
I have no hesitation in recommending the home. I was always made welcome on my visits and enjoyed the involvement of the local school especially.

My grandmother is so much happier in this home compared with the lastshe was there for five and a half years. Last week for the first time in over three years I actually managed half a normal conversation with her, something I believe is thanks to the care and support form the team. It is such a lovely
building with a special caring team who are welcoming, observant and helpful.
The fact they have got her or fo bed is a miracle.

Hello, my name is Antonios Loumousitois, and I am the Home Manager here at Avondale.


I have a strong background in healthcare management and extensive experience in the care sector, with a BSc in Management of Health and Welfare Units and an MBA in International Healthcare Management. I have also been registered with CQC since 2016.


As a home manager, I am incredibly passionate about treating everybody with dignity and respect. I also believe that a positive attitude can make a real difference in people's lives.
