Avondale is a wonderful home for my father. He is looked after and cared for extremely well. it is a lovely environment and the staff treat the residents with such dignity. It is a home from home. All of his needs are cared for and the staff are always ready to listen to him or to relatives. The entertainment
is wonderful. My father enjoys it when a singer comes in.

Since the beginning of March my parents have not been in a good place to put it mildly. They needed care and to be out of their respected places immediately to be relocated to a more suitable environment and close to myself.
Avondale helped my parents and myself to a point I could never put into words.
The gratitude I have for them all there.
My parents are now together and in a safe and caring environment.
My mother and myself cannot speak highly enough of the level of care that is provided. They have taken away so much emotional stress that was being shouldered by myself and I now feel at ease.
These people do an amazing job under very difficult circumstances and they are to be commended.

All the staff treated mum with dignity and respect. Mum had become very fond of the staff who looked after her directly, she was referred to as gran, visiting regularly, I felt I was in mum's home and was always welcomed by all the staff.
After mum's passing the staff have been very supporting, understanding
and very helpful. Their friendship will also be missed.

My husband lived in Avondale for nearly three years.
During this time, his care was impeccable, despite his very "challenging behaviour", causing damage to your property and becoming a danger to the staff.
My gratitude his last days, Avondale has felt like home to myself and my three children. He
died peacefully in your care. My never-ending thanks to you all.

As a family, we can't recommend Avondale Care Home highly enough. The care, compassion and professionalism of the staff, from management through to the wonderful carers and nurses made my father's last few months as peaceful as possible and the support they gave us as a family through this most difficult
time meant so much to us.

From the moment mum moved to Avondale, the care she received was first class. She was immediately treated as "part of the family" and we, as her family members, were also always made to feel welcome.
The leadership and communication from management was excellent and this has created an ethos of care
evident in all of the staff.

I first visited Avondale in May 2018 when I was looking for a future home for my mother who has Alzheimer’s disease. I had visited many other homes and, from my point of view, Avondale was the best.


At the end of 2018 it became clear that mom needed to move to Avondale. I contacted the home and

a couple of weeks later, mom was able to move in. Everything was made as easy as possible for both her and I, reducing stresses at this difficult time.


She has a spacious and comfortable room which she has personalised with ornaments, photos and pictures. The staff are wonderful and my mother is full of praise for those caring for her.


She joins in with the plentiful activities and says that she really enjoys the meals.


I am able to relax, knowing that my mother is in the best possible place for her and that she is being very well cared for.

I can't praise time staff at Avondale too highly for the efficient and caring way they looked after my mother for the 2 1/2 years that she was in there care. Mum felt very at home in Avondale and the carers almost became part of our family. I cannot recommend Avondale too highly.

The best care home I have found. I did lots of research before placing our mum in care, researching all reviews and CQC ratings. It's very hard when you have to find somewhere that you can trust with your parent or loved one. From the first enquiry, we were certain this was the place for mum. The care,
attention and dignity afforded to residents is excellent. The staff are so good and you know your loved one is safe and well looked after when you are not there. They also look after relatives well and include you in decisions. Mum had a special diet which was well catered for and she loved her meals all home cooked. When mum was well enough she went to activities and enjoyed them. It's a shame mum wasn't able to enjoy for longer but she was receiving end of life care. It gave mum a loving, caring few weeks where she was well looked after and family were made very welcome 24 hrs a day. Mum had a peaceful end due to the care and attention she received. Thank you Avondale

Highly professional, caring, warm and comfortable. The staff are lovely, warm and welcoming giving a total sense of being in good hands. It is a lovely maintained place so, in spite of the sadness of visiting a very ill father with my young children, the whole experience is very pleasant and comfortable.

After several admissions to the hospital, while having chemotherapy and carers at home, I had a seizure followed by a long spell in hospital. I decided to come to a care home for respite care and my son chose Avondale. My health improved so much the care I received, I have now become a permanent resident.
I really appreciate the expert care of the nurses and all the other staff. I enjoy the activities, the company and the excellent food. We think that compared to the other homes we investigated, that this is the best value.

The assistance we received from the management to ensure the last days of my aunt were comfortable and peaceful was second to none. The compassion I received from them and the two nurses I came into contact daily was on a personal level and nothing was too much. A very difficult time for me as I don't
live locally but I felt reassured that my aunt had the best care.

Hello, my name is Antonios Loumousitois, and I am the Home Manager here at Avondale.


I have a strong background in healthcare management and extensive experience in the care sector, with a BSc in Management of Health and Welfare Units and an MBA in International Healthcare Management. I have also been registered with CQC since 2016.


As a home manager, I am incredibly passionate about treating everybody with dignity and respect. I also believe that a positive attitude can make a real difference in people's lives.
