My husband has been at the home for nearly 4 years. I am very happy with the attitude of all the staff and the friendly and pleasant atmosphere. I so appreciate being allowed to visit every day and do personal things for him (not medical). Any questions are dealt with immediately and I am kept fully
informed of any changes.

My father has been in Baylham Care Centre for about 2 months now since he ended up in hospital with a bad injury from his last care home. He loves it here and I could not ask for anything more than the way he is treated. The staff go above and beyond to make my father comfortable. His room is always
clean and should dad drop food down him they change him into clean clothes. The management is excellent and I'm kept up to date with all dads needs and any problems. They ask me before going ahead with any changes too. All I can say is I'm more than grateful to all the staff here.

Our mother lived at Baylham for seven and a half years. She loved it and frequently said, “I am so lucky to live here.” She loved the staff.
Sadly mother passed away on 11 August. Baylham kept us informed so that we were able to return from our holiday in Croatia to spend the last three days with
our mother. It was a very special time and has helped us come to terms with the sad loss of a wonderful mother.
The staff were amazing, professional, skilful, kind, compassionate and utterly committed to Mother throughout her time at Baylham right up to the time of her death.
Thank you to the manager and all your wonderful staff.
Our love and thanks.

My mother came for respite care. This is the third time I have needed the help and support of Baylham Care Centre. They responded to my request quickly and efficiently. My mum was able to return home thanks to their lovely care and support for both my mother and myself. My mother's wishes to return
home were respected. Thank you.

My mum and I met with the care manager twice before deciding to choose Baylham for respite for Dad. In the end, Mum decided to stay as well and the care home arranged for her to stay in the room next to Dad's. We realised long term care would be required and Mum wanted to check it out. They were both
very happy with their stay in comfortable surroundings and the large bedrooms with ensuite facilities. Mum was most impressed by the caring staff who just couldn't do enough to make their stay enjoyable. I also think winning at bingo helped.

I cannot thank everyone at Baylham Care Centre enough for all their hard work, support, care and especially love for the residents, their families and each other during these past 4 months. Since Dad came to live at Baylham now over a year ago I have had nothing but praise for them but during the Covid-19
pandemic they have been amazing! Dad tested positive for Covid-19 and we had a very worrying time but with the love and care of staff he is now well, we were shown so much love as was Dad and every method used to keep us in touch with him and updated. The whole team, management, nursing, carers, activities, cooks, cleaners, office staff, gardeners, physios, hairdressers if I've missed anyone I am truly sorry, but everyone of them shows Dad love and respect and makes every day he has as meaningful and joyful as they can, I could not want any more than that.

The team at Baylham Care Centre took over the full-time care of our father four years ago as his Alzheimer’s condition seriously deteriorated. They have consistently been wonderful, caring and supportive during the often difficult stages of his illness and our dad has always seemed ‘at home’ in their
care. Choosing the right care home is such a difficult and emotional decision but we can say, without hesitation, that we have never regretted choosing Baylham for our dear dad.

It was one of the hardest decisions we had to make as a family, moving Dad from his home into residential care. However, choosing the home for Dad was not so difficult as Baylham Care Centre had provided outstanding care for our Aunt and Uncle, and this reassured us immensely. Dad moved into Baylham
in December 2019 and has settled in well thanks to the high standard of care and attention given by all the staff at the Centre. Everyone you meet at Baylham has a ready smile and a kind word, they genuinely care about their residents. When we visited Dad, we were always made welcome and when Covid-19 threatened the safety of our loved ones, understandably no visits to the home were allowed. Throughout the past four months, we have received numerous photos, videos, FaceTime calls, phone calls and even one socially distanced visit. Our family is very grateful for the outstanding care my dad has received and I have no hesitation in recommending Baylham Care Centre.

The staff are so helpful and caring, you will always receive a warm welcome when you visit including if you would like a cuppa. Recently with lockdown, the tri-weekly updates have been comforting and staff have gone above and beyond by arranging FaceTime so that I can see Mum. Nothing is too much trouble
for the wonderful staff at Baylham. Mum is happy at her home on the hill.

My dad who is 100, has always been against moving to a care home. However in April due to the pandemic and breakdown in his homecare, it was decided to place him at Baylham Care Centre for respite. The process from enquiry to him arriving only took a couple of days. The staff at Baylham are kind, caring
and approachable. They clearly go the extra mile to ensure their residents are as happy and healthy as possible. The time, care, interaction and innovative ways they provide activities and keep the residents in contact with their families, even during the lockdown, are invaluable. Dad's needs are met to an excellent standard. The change in Dad has been extraordinary, he has improved both mentally and physically. He loves "his hotel home" at Baylham and requested to stay permanently. I would absolutely recommend Baylham Care Centre as the home of your choice, as I honestly feel so relaxed knowing he is contented and well cared for. I thank all of the staff from the bottom of my heart for all that they do.

During this period of lockdown, I have been impressed with the communications coming from Baylham to advise me, as a relative, of the protective standards being reached for residents' care. Constant e-mails updating us, along with the provision of WhatsApp contact to talk to my mother and make visual
contact have been priceless. Hugely grateful for the professionalism and care shown.

My aunt didn't want to go into a care home. But she flourished at Baylham. The hospital thought she would be there 3 months, but she left us 18 months later.
I visited regularly and was impressed by the quality and consistency of the care, the sheer love the staff show towards the residents, the warmth
they showed to me, and the happy spirit that exists, despite the underlying sadness of a lot of what they do. They were excellent about communicating with me, anticipating future needs and potential problems, and providing solutions before problems became critical.
The ground floor is specifically for residents with dementia. The building is modern and has been designed as a care home with those needs, not adapted, which makes a huge difference, as does having nurses, physiotherapists, activity coordinators and a hairdresser onsite.
I have never regretted the choice we had to make. My aunt was unable to remember to say thank you to the staff. Our family will never forget.

I would definitely recommend Baylham, I couldn't have asked for any better. The care was brilliant and the nurses/carers actually do care. Nothing was to much trouble and after spending months in hospital my brother was in a much better place thanks to the staff. Unfortunately, my brother passed away
after a short while, but the care was second to none, with the help of Baylham he passed away with dignity and for that, I will be ever grateful. Thank you from all the family.

I would highly recommend Baylham Care Centre where my father has been receiving respite care.
He has had wonderful care and attention, affording him the utmost dignity.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful towards my father, myself and family and also other residents.
There is always someone
available to speak to regarding updates and information.
There are regular activities arranged during the week, including outings and my father has been taken to a garden centre and farm which he really enjoyed.
He has also loved the panoramic views across the Gipping Valley from the picture windows.
Overall, there is a good feeling as you enter the building and this permeates throughout the care centre.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.330)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.330) out of 10 for Baylham Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.530 for Baylham Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (107 Excellents x 5) + (41 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 164 Ratings = 4.53
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Baylham Care Home is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 55 registered maximum number of service users is 11, which has been reached with 12 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
