I would highly recommend Baylham Care Centre where my father has been receiving respite care.
He has had wonderful care and attention, affording him the utmost dignity.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful towards my father, myself and family and also other residents.
There is always someone available to speak to regarding updates and information.
There are regular activities arranged during the week, including outings and my father has been taken to a garden centre and farm which he really enjoyed.
He has also loved the panoramic views across the Gipping Valley from the picture windows.

Overall, there is a good feeling as you enter the building and this permeates throughout the care centre.

After my wife spent weeks, months in hospital with multi health issues it was decided on her discharge that she required 24/7 nursing that was not possible in our own small home, so it was agreed for her to go to a Care/Nursing Home.
I heard from friends that Baylham Care Centre was very good and was the closest to where we live. After I arrange to visit to Baylham Care Centre I was extremely impressed.
My wife is now in the best possible Care Centre, she is now getting 247 care, the staff and management are so caring not only to my wife but to myself as I visit my wife 6 to 8 hours a day, she has a lovely room and enjoys taking part in the activities, the meals are excellent, my wife is so pleased to be in such a lovely home.

I am so grateful to all the nursing staff the carers and management for all their help in caring for my wife, I am lost for words.

My mother-in-law had been pressing us to promise for months "not to put her into a home". However, a deterioration in her health led to it being necessary. We saw several centres and were immediately impressed in our initial visits by the care given and interest taken by the staff in the residents when they probably didn't realise they were being observed.
It was the right decision to place her in the care of the staff at Baylham. She could not participate in the many activities organised for the residents and due to her health, she spent most of her two months there in bed in her room. The medical treatment, general care and interest taken by staff was very apparent when she told us that she felt 'safe' there and seeing her relationship with some of them when we were there. This pastoral care extended throughout the range of staff roles.

We were always welcomed on our daily visits, including with her great-grandson and always informed how things were going.

My mother was resident in Baylham Care Centre for just over a year. She was confined to bed but she was cared for to the best of their ability for which I thank all the staff. The food was lovely and she enjoyed her fried breakfasts and fish and chips. Although in a lot of pain with her legs the staff were always on hand to help with this. At a very difficult time for all the family they were always there to talk to and advice. Many thanks.

My Mother had been a resident of Baylam pretty much since it opened. She had been in a previous care home which couldn't cope with her increasing dementia needs.
My Sister found Baylam (we had visited several other care homes) and from the day she went there never have we as a family regretted that decision.
I work in an industry where unannounced audits /inspections are commonplace, I have visited Baylam at various times of the day and never seen anything that concerned me. Mum was always clean as was her room and the whole building. The food was always excellent. I know how hard is to keep those standards up and I applaud you for it.
I have good memories of visiting on a Saturday morning and Mum was always included in the activities even though she didn't really take part you could see she enjoyed watching what was going on.

Thanks to all of you for looking after her.

The team at Baylham have cared for my mother for over 7 years. During that time her care needs changed and the staff were able to adjust the support accordingly and in full consultation with the family. I believe mum felt safe and genuinely cared for during her time at Baylham for which we are grateful.

High dependency care is difficult and demanding but the staff approach it with humour and warmth. They are a great team and I commend them to any other families looking for a safe home for their loved ones.

Mum was cared for by Baylham Care Centre for over 7 years. Mum had dementia and during her years at Baylham as her health deteriorated, the care she received was nothing but excellent.
Before we choose Baylham, we visited many other care homes, one of the first things I noticed was the excellent cleanliness, it exceeded any others we had seen. Over the years, that excellent standard has been maintained. Cleaning is obviously important but what really struck me was the individual staff members and their genuine interest in giving the best dementia care and pioneering new ideas to help the residents.

The staff's commitment to maintaining residents' dignity shines out across all aspects of the care provided. Over the years, as her care needs changed, I have always been consulted with and been part of the care plans in place for mum, at all times recording and acting on what was important to her as an individual was very well considered.

I simply don't have the words to put across the essence of Baylham and it's staff. The whole must start with the manager who maintains the simply unbelievable standards in every aspect of the place. Mum (who suffered from Alzheimer's) was, very unexpectedly, only there for a few days before she died but, despite the fact that she had been happy where she was previously, in those few days was happier than I have seen her in a very long time. Each and every member of staff we encountered from those we met on our very first visit when we looked around to the four lovely staff who sat with her at the end were simply amazing. Such care, gentleness, dedication, humour, understanding, patience and dedication. I have absolutely no hesitation in saying to anyone 'Just choose Baylham, you won't regret it!'

I never had any dealings with management so cannot express an opinion.
As far as I am concerned, my brother could not have gone to a better care home. Could not fault the service provided in any way.

Baylham Care Centre provided such a high standard of care, support and medical expertise for my father that the last six months of his life were spent in peace and contentment. His mood was so balanced and despite his dementia and end-stage cancer, the environment that is provided at Baylham Care Centre meant he spent his last days surrounded by love and we are truly grateful.

Review from Aldenw (Husband of Resident) published on 27 March 2018 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

During March, my wife was in the final stages of Alzheimer's. She had been in Baylham for almost two years and, as expected, went continually downhill. My wife in the last month or two, could not easily swallow liquids or food, yet with the persistence and help of the carers, she was able to receive sustainable amounts. Towards the end, she would only take food or drink from one carer. That carer put in extra time on her own to take care of her.

Previous to March, she would refuse the services of the hairdresser that came to Baylham. Another carer who my wife knew, took it upon herself to cut and shape her hair. There were many other staff members who went out of their way to help my wife.

The staff at BCC (Baylham Care Centre) are excellent, and part of that excellence comes from the motivation provided by the manager, who is great at team building. While I am saddened that the Alzheimer's has now claimed another victim, I'm happy that my wife had the best care she could possibly have received.
