The laundry room needs some work. Items of clothing don't always come back to my mother's room when they do they are not hung up properly and also not ironed. White articles have gone grey. My mother's clothes are all labelled and she still gets other people's clothes. Socks are never returned in pairs.
I have made many trips to the laundry room myself. One day she had no underwear.

My mum has been in Montrose Hall for approx two months. She has mixed dementia. All staff are lovely to residents and family members. It is a proper, warm and comfortable environment. Montrose is open and in contact with us regularly, and we are always made to feel welcome when we visit. There is always
some activity going on, and the place looks lovely at the moment - all ready for Christmas/ My mum is well cared for, which means my family and I can be happy in the knowledge she is always safe.

I can honestly say 100% happy. Seen a massive difference in Mother, which gives all family and relatives great peace of mind to know being well taken care of. Everyone and everything is spotless. No fault whatsoever. All the people I speak to say what a good place it is. Highly recommended.

When my father first came into the home, he settled down pretty well. The staff have always been very good at looking after my father and have notified us whenever we need to know of any illnesses, falls, etc. The home is well presented, clean, facilities good and mealtimes timed and well-executed.
Food is good. Overall very happy with the home.

Mum was put into care in January this year under difficult circumstances, from day one I had peace of mind that she was being looked after in a way that gave me complete peace of mind. The communication via Zoom calls was great and I was always given that opportunity when asked. I have felt I can approach
any of the staff and it is great to see how friendly and caring they all are. Now restrictions have started to ease the communication and the way in which testing of visitors has been handled has been great considering all the other duties they have to fulfil.

My father has been in Montrose Hall care home since mid-July 2019, after viewing several care homes in the area. After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and dementia, we wanted to be sure to find a place where he would be looked after and that we felt happy with. Montrose met all our requirements. We
found it well organised, clean and well laid out. The staff are very good, really attentive to the residents and the kitchen provides a very good menu. Each of the residents rooms have their own en suite and also a television, if needed, as they also have larger communal televisions in the lounges. We have been happy with how the care home have coped with the restrictions concerning this virus epidemic.

My mother-in-law has been a resident of Montrose for over 2-years now, and our family have nothing but praise for the care and attention she had received, and she is always treated with respect.
During this difficult 10-months, we have been kept up to date with all information, regarding residents
and the home. The staff and their activities have gone beyond the norm in order to keep the residents entertained.
I would not hesitate to recommend this ‘home’ to any member of our family and friends.

I can't praise Montrose Hall enough. All the staff are amazing. Lockdown has been a tough time for everyone but Montrose Hall has kept families up to date and informed of new guidelines and procedures all the way through. They update social media with photos and videos of residents so families can see
what they have been doing daily. It's comforting to know that my grandad is happy there and is being looked after so well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Montrose Hall to family and friends should they need somewhere for their loved ones!

Mum has been a resident at Montrose for the last eighteen months, it is very reassuring to know that she is being well cared for, twenty-four hours a day, by friendly, helpful, caring staff.
The Covid crisis has been very worrying for everyone but knowing Mum is safe and well is very reassuring.
Not being able to visit is hard but also very necessary to keep everyone, residents and staff, at Montrose Hall safe and well. We are able to keep in touch with our relatives by telephone calls and receive updates via email and Facebook. There are always plenty of activities to keep the residents happy and entertained.

My Mum has been in the care of Montrose Hall for almost 2 years. We have found the home to be clean, modern and comfortable and the staff friendly and professional. Mum enjoys the food especially. They have coped well during the virus and although probably more strict than other homes it is for the
resident’s protection. They have lots of activities going on and try really hard to keep everyone involved. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.779)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.779) out of 10 for Montrose Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 46 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 45 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.779 for Montrose Hall is calculated as follows: ( (441 Excellents x 5) + (75 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (9 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 533 Ratings = 4.779
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Montrose Hall is based on 45 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2, which has been reached with 45 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
