Activities that are organised are second to none. Stimulating and promoting physical activity.
Certain levels of care are met but need consistency, i.e. creat that needs to be used to prevent flare up of dry asking and infection. Check it is done both morning and night.
Check she is showering with
support on a daily basis.

Mum had been a resident at Acer Court for 3 years but when she had to apply for Local Authority funding due to depleted savings we were told that we had to pay a £55 top up charge. As we couldn't afford this amount we had to find a care home that would waive the top up fees. The new care home is marvellous
and made us realise how bad Acer Court had been over the years. My Mum was mentally alert so could tell us what she had seen and experienced herself and to other residents. The catalogue of things that had happened over the years are too lengthy to explain here but ranged from running out of medication and incontinence pads, unattended residents left in the lounge for long periods of time (which I witnessed and reported myself) to more serious incidents of bruising and falls. I had numerous meetings and kept a diary, which contained many pages of incidents. We also had to wait four months for Mum to be refunded monies she had overpaid. I would not recommend this care home at all.

I cannot thank the manager and all the staff at Acer Court for the help that they have provided not only for my dad but for me. They have provided my dad with a warm, safe place to stay. He always looks clean and well looked after. We are always made to feel very welcome when we visit. The home always
looks clean and tidy and is always warm and welcoming.

When first visited Acer Court was greeted by a very friendly receptionist. She couldn't do enough for us and was very helpful and full of knowledge, along with all the other staff. My father-in-law has settled into Acer Court with help from the staff, who have certainly made him feel at home. It was
a big move for him, but he has settled in well.

Very impressed with the care home as a whole, my grandad has been in Acer Court for just over a month and is settling in well. The staff are very friendly and helpful towards his care and needs. He can't fault the food and says most days he has two puddings because they are so yum! The courtyard is
kept nice and tidy and is a lovely space for all the residents to enjoy with the budgies.

I feel when seeing my friend that he is well cared for here. The staff seems very professional, and nothing is too much trouble when dealing with residents or visitors. When here, I have seen a marked improvement in his health, both physically and mentally.

I would like to thank Acer Court Care Home for my mother's 90th birthday party. They provided a function room and refreshments with excellent sandwiches and drinks. This allowed my mother to see all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and old neighbours. The function room had been decorated
by the carers and allowed for a party atmosphere. My mother who is usually asleep a lot, really perked up at the sight of all of us. She really enjoyed herself, as did my 91-year-old father and all of us. Well done Acer Court.

I would like to thank Acer Court for their support in making my mother's 90th Birthday a special day for the whole family.
We asked Acer if it would be possible for the family (in total 20+, Children + Grandchildren + Great-grandchildren) to come and visit Mum on her 90th Birthday.
Acer's reply
was superb, they said they would set aside one of the lounges and lay on drinks and sandwiches for the event which was marvellous. Then, when we arrived, we found they had gone the extra mile to decorate to room blow up balloons and put part pops on the tables to make it feel like a party venue rather than a care home lounge.
I don’t know why I was surprised as this care home really does try to make it feel more like a home than a care home and make all the family feel welcome when we visit and part of the overall care home family.
Thanks to everyone who made celebrating this 90th achievement; a truly memorable day and looking after my mother so well.

A pleasant place to spend time with family. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Common rooms are well laid out and accessible with a variety of games and activities. The food served to residents is of a high quality with extra precautions taken during the pandemic to help protect both residents
and staff. More like a hotel than a care home.

Since Mum was admitted to this establishment in August 2022, our family have nothing but praise for the well-being of Mum. Upon admission, Mum was in a bad, vulnerable state but her health and spirits were immediately lifted due to the ongoing care and attention whereby she is also treated as a family
member of the care home.
The staff here are absolutely amazing and clearly treat both residents and families as part of their own family. Mum now laughs at every opportunity.

I have worked at Acer Court since March 2016. I began as a housekeeper and then progressed to care as I enjoyed helping the residents and reassuring them where needed.


I moved on to become a Customer Service Advisor in June 2021. As I enjoyed meeting people and want to help people where I can. I find my job rewarding as often people aren't sure about moving their loved ones into a care home and I feel I am able to support and reassure them. I enjoy completing my show rounds with the families and answering any questions where I can. I feel when families are looking for a care home this can be an emotional time for them and they need compassion and someone to listen and support them on their journey to find their loved one in the right place.

My name is Gemma and I am the manager here at Acer Court. I have worked for Avery for over 8 years now developing my skills from a deputy manager in a busy Avery nursing home, in Staffordshire, to becoming a successful manager at sister home Alder House and now transferring to Acer Court.


I am from Stoke on Trent and I have worked in the healthcare industry for 18 years, completing most roles that you would find in a regular care home and working my way up to the manager role completing many qualifications along the way. My main experience, knowledge and background is in Dementia care and this is an area of care that I am most passionate about.


Outside of my career, I love to go to the gym Subsequently, this has led to me signing up for many charity events such as white-collar boxing, half marathons and various assault courses. I just love to help people, in any way I can.
